"Tap, tap, tap..."
As Gro’s words fell, a young Soldier rushed over in a panic. He held a square iron box in his arms, opened it to reveal a complex chanical structure, quickly operated it, and handed two black blocks connected by wires to Gro while saying, "Captain, it’s connected."
"Mm."
Gro took them, placing one black block on his ear and the other near his mouth, quickly speaking: "Bird Nest, Bird Nest, this is Grey Parrot, coordinates (1637.12, 1247.57).
I’m currently facing a strong enemy onslaught, possibly exceeding defense limits, requesting imdiate remote fire support. Repeat, requesting imdiate remote fire support, target coordinates are (1637.12, 1247.58), (1637.12, 1247.59)..."
Gro shouted loudly, almost yelling, but his expression suddenly froze at the midpoint, because he heard a response from the microphone.
"Grey Parrot, your request has been received by Bird Nest, but unfortunately, due to the Catastrophe Level enemy assault, all cities and camps are in urgent need, and Bird Nest’s remote fire support is fully occupied. We temporarily can’t assist you. Please hold on a bit longer, as soon as there is available support, we’ll imdiately assist you."
"Slap!"
Gro forcefully placed the two black blocks back into the Soldier’s iron box, his face looking grim.
Honestly, he had sowhat anticipated this outco, after all, the sudden outbreak of a Catastrophe Level attack tested every city and camp within the Shalin System. When the higher-ups inford him to handle the attack, they had told him to rely on his own strength, at least in the early stages of the attack.
But the problem was that even anticipating this situation, hearing that the higher-ups couldn’t provide assistance was still sowhat frustrating—it was one thing to understand, another entirely that it didn’t help the current situation.
What to do?!
Gro looked at the approaching army of Abnormal Creatures outside the defense line, at those Abnormal Shell Elephants that Magic Rune Cannons couldn’t harm, and clenched his fists.
"Captain, should we retract the defense line next?" A subordinate officer looked over, seeking a decision. If resistance was futile, the wisest choice would be to retreat the defense line and delay ti, but without finding a solution, it would only delay until the line was finally breached.
Gro pondered for a mont after hearing this, without answering the subordinate officer’s question, and instead abruptly turned around, quickly walked into the camp, and disappeared.
The people on the defense line couldn’t help but be stunned, the crew mbers retreating to the secondary line were also surprised, Philip blinked and couldn’t help scratching his head, a bit puzzled by Gro’s behavior...had they abandoned resistance?
In the midst of doubt, heavy and quick footsteps sounded, and Gro, who entered the camp, re-erged, but with so changes—within this short ti, he had donned entirely new attire.
Gro used to be dressed in a standard military uniform, but now wore a full set of Armor.
The Armor was deep black throughout, its surface adorned with gray and white Magic Runes, appearing very dignified, and the heavy Magic Rune Saber in his hand emanated a powerful aura.
Worth ntioning, Gro wasn’t alone when he erged, following behind him were twenty equally adorned warriors, silent and with solemn expressions.
"It’s the Magic Wizard of Shalin, huh." Philip watched in awe, overhearing Bob’s soft remark next to him.
"Hm?" Philip turned his head towards Bob, "Locomotive Captain, what’s a Magic Wizard?"
"It’s a combination of a Magic Knight and a Wizard," Bob explained, "I’ve heard that Shalin developed a special potion called ’Life Baptism’ in the past two years. It allows ordinary people to beco Wizards. After becoming a Wizard, ard like a Magic Knight, they can exhibit extrely strong combat power. During the last two encounters with Catastrophe Level attacks, they played a significant role. But of course, with benefits co drawbacks, word has it that becoming a Magic Wizard requires a considerable price."
"What price?" Philip instinctively asked.
"That I’m not sure," Bob shook his head.
"Hoo..."
While Philip and Bob were whispering, Gro led the twenty Magic Wizards back to the defense line.
Gro glanced at the subordinate officer who had previously inquired about his decision, and ordered in a deep voice: "Prepare all gunners, fire teams, Soldiers..."
"And then, Captain?" the officer asked.
"And then?" Gro slowly pulled down the visor on his helt, covering his entire face, buzzing, "Then wait for my orders when I return."
As soon as he finished speaking, Gro stomped "bang" on the ground, leaping high over the entire defense line, landing in the wilderness outside the line full of Abnormal Creature corpses and blood.
The other Magic Wizards followed suit, pulling down their visors in unison, leaping over the defense to land in the wilderness, automatically forming a triangular formation, and strode towards the gathering army of Abnormal Creatures.
"Tap, tap, tap..."
The steps of the group quickly accelerated, eventually almost gliding off the ground, with the Magic Rune Armor glowing brightly, and red flas of Energy rising from their arms.
They resembled dense teor clusters, violently crashing into the army of Abnormal Creatures, crashing into the Abnormal Shell Elephants within.
The Magic Rune Sabers they held raised high, the Runes above flashing at high frequency, and high-condensed Energy erging from the blade. The next mont, with a low shout from Gro, more than twenty sabers consecutively struck heavily at various parts of the Abnormal Shell Elephants.
"Puff, puff, puff!"
Although the Abnormal Shell Elephants’ shells could repel the cannonballs from Magic Rune Cannons, under the dual assault of Gro’s group’s Magic Rune and Shape Energy Magic, they still couldn’t avoid injury, and critically so.
The shells shattered completely, slender wounds were ploughed underneath, the purple-black blood quickly gushing out.
"Woo~ Woo~"
The Abnormal Shell Elephants let out miserable cries, but Gro’s group showed no rcy, swinging their sabers down again.
"Puff, puff, puff!"
"Woo..."
Amidst the cries, the massive body of the Abnormal Shell Elephants swayed, collapsing like small mountains, crushing many nearby Abnormal Creatures.
The remaining Abnormal Creatures rushed desperately towards Gro’s group, attempting to confine them here, even abandoning the attack on the Grey Parrot Reinforcent Group’s camp for it.
Gro’s group clearly knew the consequences of being held back, after killing the first Abnormal Shell Elephant, they had no hesitation, forcing a breakthrough and choosing a second Abnormal Shell Elephant as their target, rapidly approaching it.
"Puff, puff, puff!"
The saber fell again, blood gushing from the depths of the second Abnormal Shell Elephant’s body.
And then the third Abnormal Shell Elephant, the fourth, the fifth...
Ultimately, all Abnormal Shell Elephants fell under the Magic Rune Sabers of Gro’s group, but due to forcing multiple breakthroughs during the process, many Magic Knights were wounded or sacrificed, and the remaining mbers had expended a lot of Physical Strength.
The army of Abnormal Creatures then altered their strategy, no longer desperately attacking in close quarters, but expanding their formation, surrounding Gro’s group from the outside in.
Nurous Soldiers on the defense line watched as more and more Abnormal Creatures gathered near Gro’s group, encircling them so tightly that the people gradually disappeared from view, the entire scene filled only with the dense throng of Abnormal Creatures.
Will the Captain’s group all perish...
A thought inevitably flashed in the minds of the Soldiers.
Suddenly, with a "boom," a huge explosion occurred, many Abnormal Creatures were blasting away, and amid the rising flas, Gro led the remaining thirteen Magic Wizards whistling as they rushed out.
The army of Abnormal Creatures crazily pursued them from behind, but Gro’s group clearly moved faster, rushing a distance and arriving near the defense line while the Abnormal Creatures were still over a hundred ters away.
"Bang!"
Gro led the Magic Wizards leaping high, crossing the defense line, shouting even before landing: "All units, prepare..."
"Fire!"
"Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom!"
Instantly, the entire defense line resounded with explosions.
