Capítulo 1224: Chapter 1222: Monkey Version
After Richard and Moli’s team finished exploring the ruins, he did not linger outside but returned directly to Farlo City, resuming his previous peaceful life.
However, compared to before, sothing had changed. He started frequently visiting Witch Cersi’s place to exchange knowledge about the ancient wizard civilization, focusing on deciphering ancient texts and symbols.
Sotis, Richard would spend an entire day in Cersi’s courtyard, only returning after nightfall.
Upon returning, he wouldn’t rest but would imdiately enter Eden underneath his courtyard to continue working, appearing extrely busy.
…
A few days after Richard’s return.
In Eden.
Pandora, out walking the dog, ran into Witch Demon Elder Ah Fu.
Ah Fu gestured in a particular direction, curiously asking Pandora, “Hey, little girl, do you know what Richard’s been up to recently? I feel he’s been acting strange since he got back this ti. I asked him before, and he said he found sothing good while out, but finding sothing good shouldn’t make him this busy, right?”
Pandora listened, her eyes widening slightly as she replied, “Richard… well, I’m not exactly sure what he’s busy with, but it seems related to high-energy experints, involving energy conversion and storage, similar to electromagnetic induction but with so differences. Richard said he needed to address the internal energy of matter…”
Pandora found soone to talk to, couldn’t stop once she started, and said a lot, leaving Ah Fu quite stunned.
Finally, Pandora stopped talking and seriously asked, “Did you understand?”
Understand? Not at all!
Witch Demon Elder thought grumpily to himself, but to save face, he didn’t say it out loud. He just nodded and said, “Oh, I see, it’s simple, of course I understand.”
“Really?” Pandora seed a bit skeptical.
The Witch Demon Elder snorted, not wanting to engage further, afraid of saying too much and being exposed. His eyes scanned the area and spotted a figure in the distance, quickly shouting, “Hey, stop right there! Stealing bones from my magic puppet again, aren’t you? I’m not done with you!”
With that, Witch Demon Elder strode forward in pursuit.
The figure that appeared was the Eight-Ard Skeleton Anan, looking surprised after hearing the Witch Demon Elder’s words. The ghost fire flickered in his eye sockets, showing so disbelief.
Heaven knows, he often dismantled “parts” from the Witch Demon Elder’s magic puppet, but he hadn’t done so today—at least not yet.
The Witch Demon Elder’s accusations were entirely false.
Yet, as the ghost fire flickered a few tis in his eyes, and the Witch Demon Elder got closer, he turned and ran away.
Why?
No reason, just because he wanted to, he found it more entertaining this way.
And so, the Witch Demon Elder chased the Eight-Ard Skeleton out of sight.
Pandora watched, couldn’t help but shake her head, looked away, not planning to get involved, taking the golden yellow dog, Little Bell, in another direction for another walk.
Just then, a faint explosion suddenly erupted from the underground in the distance.
“Boom!”
Hmm?
Pandora blinked her big eyes, thinking to herself, “Is this another of Richard’s failed experints?” This was failing far more frequently than she did with math problems, failing over ten tis just today alone.
“Sigh.” Pandora sighed, with a sowhat sympathetic look, walking the dog further away.
…
anwhile.
In the highest-specification underground laboratory of Eden’s hazardous materials function area.
Richard gazed through sturdy glass at the aftermath of the explosion in the neighboring room, the lted workbench, scorched walls, shattered instrunts, with a gleam in his eyes, exclaiming, “Success!”
Success! Although most explosions resulted in failure, this ti was a success.
It must be said, this success was sowhat unexpected, yet it confird one thing for him—his hypothesis regarding the research was correct.
Speaking of which, it started when he returned to Farlo City.
After returning to Farlo City, he began attempting to crack the energy furnace design he obtained from the ruins. With effective help from Witch Cersi, his progress was swift. In the recent days, nurous experints led to a significant breakthrough.
This breakthrough was very aningful to him, showing him the feasibility of creating energy furnaces.
It was precisely because of this that he was indifferent when sharing the spoils with Moli’s team in the ruins, where Moli obtained the energy furnace. Simply acquiring an energy furnace without knowing how to use it appeared valuable but did not align with his intentions.
Obtaining a design and ample raw materials to attempt to decipher and create a new energy furnace from scratch was a greater reward.
This was akin to the difference between giving a man a fish and teaching a man how to fish.
However, completing this task was not easy.
The difficulty of cracking the energy furnace design exceeded the imagination of average people. The text alone, despite his and Cersi’s abilities, was only partially translated—seven or eight tenths. The rest required slow exploration on his own. Therefore, frequent experintal failures in the past days made the others in Eden sowhat accustod and numb.
Fortunately, persistent effort paid off, allowing him to overco nurous challenges through lessons learned from failure. So challenges involved knowledge with interconnections, furthering his understanding of the “Destructive Gloves,” Black Spirit King’s mask, and Energy Storage Short Wand.
Now, he was not confident in perfectly cloning the original energy furnace, but he was confident in creating a new version of an energy furnace following his own approach.
The new version of the energy furnace might have so shortcomings compared to the original, in military terms from Earth, distinguishing between the “human version” and the “monkey version.”
The human version is naturally better, while the monkey version, due to simplification, is inevitably weaker.
However, this simplified energy furnace allowed him full comprehension and convenient usage. Moreover, the cost was lower. For example, with the sa cost, perhaps he could only produce one human version furnace, but could produce one and a half, two, or even two and a half monkey versions, in overwhelming quantity.
In summary, although the new version of the energy furnace might not be the strongest, it was the most suitable for him.
Of course, saying this now is premature; he had only conquered the first stage of the entire energy furnace manufacturing process.
Many more challenges lay ahead.
So, let’s continue overcoming them.
Richard took a deep breath, stepped out of the room he was in, and walked into the adjacent room. He tidied up the site, finding a crystallized fingertip-sized material in the lted tal, carefully placing it on a tray, and carrying it into another room.
Shortly after entering, the chanical sounds began.
“Buzz buzz!”
“Boom boom.”
The new bustle began.
Amidst the busyness, faint voices drifted out.
“As for energy output, it’s basically settled, but in terms of materials, improvents are needed. Preferably, use safe materials instead of heavy tals. On one hand, it can reduce the physical burden once mana is activated, and on the other hand, it can prevent heavy tal poisoning…”
