Capítulo 1104: Chapter 1102: Blazing Flas Across the Sky

“Whew~~”

Azure flas scread sharply, getting closer and closer, arriving just ten ters behind Richard in the blink of an eye.

Richard narrowed his eyes, feeling the scorching pain on his back, and ca to an abrupt stop in mid-air. A burst of golden light exploded from his right palm, gathering into a gigantic golden energy shield, which he slamd heavily against the incoming azure flas.

“Clap!”

The shield of the energy shield made contact with the azure flas, which were forcibly deford and burst into countless tiny sparks that flew in all directions and extinguished.

The energy shield wavered slightly, its luster dimming for a mont before returning to normal.

Richard did not pause. As his right hand extinguished the azure flas, his left palm burst with the sa golden light, forming four golden energy spears in succession, which he threw one by one at the pursuing Cheka and the other three — one spear each.

“Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!”

The four energy spears flew out, making Cheka and his three companions beco cautious, daring not to be careless, each using their abilities to respond.

So dodged, others used magic shields to forcefully counter, while others mislead the energy spears to deflect their attack paths. After putting in considerable effort, they successfully neutralized the danger and hovered a few hundred ters away, facing off with Richard.

They had witnessed the destructive power of Richard’s gloves and seen how many of their companions perished under this “move” of Richard’s. They had no desire to repeat such a fate, so they dared not get too close, fearing to be instantly killed without realizing it. Yet, they couldn’t simply let Richard go either, or the anger from the headquarters would be sothing they couldn’t bear, forcing them to stubbornly try to hold him back.

For the mont, the situation had reached a stalemate.

Richard frowned, sensing a bit of Cheka and his group’s mindset.

He understood their “dogged persistence.” After all, having stayed at the Truth Society for so long, even if he spent most of his ti “cooped up” doing research, he had so understanding of how its internal mbers operated.

Just understanding was one thing, cooperating was another.

He didn’t want to cooperate and didn’t have the ti for it either.

He wasn’t sure if the Truth Society mbers in Pompeii Town had sent a distress signal to the headquarters or other branches amidst the communication blockade caused by the magic electromagnetic pulse.

Regardless of whether a signal was successfully sent, he didn’t want to take any chances.

What he most wanted right now was to safely leave Pompeii with the remaining two atomic bombs, proceed to the North Wilderness for explosion tests, collect data, and conduct research as quickly as possible, rather than being stuck in a staring contest mid-air with Cheka and the others.

“Huff—phew—”

Taking a deep breath, Richard glanced at Cheka and his companions hundreds of ters away, who hesitated to co closer, and made his decision.

Without hesitation, he channeled the last remaining energy from the Black Spirit King Mask into his body, and the next mont, his entire body was enveloped in dense gray energy, shooting upward like a rocket.

Almost in the blink of an eye, he was over a thousand ters high and still ascending.

Cheka and the others were first stunned and exchanged quick glances. Cheka vocally decided: “Chase.”

Upon hearing this, the other three did not hesitate and each cast spells, their bodies glowing differently, pursuing Richard alongside Cheka, rising ever higher.

One thousand ters, two thousand ters, three thousand ters!

In no ti, the four were pursuing Richard at three thousand ters high.

Richard showed not the slightest sign of stopping, continuing to ascend.

Cheka and the others looked a bit surprised, even though they were all very strong, the three-thousand-ter altitude made them feel sowhat uncomfortable. They weren’t expecting Richard to persist in ascending.

What was he trying to do? Ascend to the sun?

But having chased this far, giving up halfway was not an option. Cheka grit his teeth and said, “Keep pursuing!”

“Okay.” The other three responded, their bodies’ glow becoming brighter, chasing Richard higher into the sky.

Then four thousand ters, five thousand ters, six thousand ters…

Soon, they reached six thousand ters high, and Cheka and the others’ faces were slightly pale. One reason was the injuries caused by the previous magic electromagnetic pulse, another was the rapid altitude increase which was very draining, and lastly was the discomfort of the high altitude.

This was six thousand ters!

If an accident happened now and they fell to the ground, it would be difficult to find even a bone — they’d be shattered to pieces.

With this thought, the four slightly raised their heads to look up, their eyes widening involuntarily, seeing Richard still ascending.

Still not done yet… This thought almost occurred simultaneously to all four, filled with a mix of fatigue and anger, and within anger, a feeling of despair.

What now? Should they continue the pursuit?

Continuing the pursuit, whether their bodies would hold up was one thing, but the fact that Richard hadn’t stopped was quite despairing.

It was Cheka who set the precedent, biting hard, glaring at Richard’s figure, and said, “We must catch up with him!”

As he finished speaking, he spat out the wind that filled his mouth, coldly accelerated toward Richard.

The other three exchanged glances, slightly helpless before following, ascending higher and higher.

Seven thousand ters, eight thousand ters, nine thousand ters…

Ten thousand ters!

Before long, Cheka and his team had chased Richard to ten thousand ters high, with Richard even higher above them.

How high?

Ten thousand five hundred ters?

Eleven thousand ters?

Or maybe twelve thousand ters?

Cheka and the others were unwilling to even think about it, rely chanically squeezing their mana to continue rising.

Above ten thousand ters, at the top of the troposphere, the temperature had suddenly dropped to tens of degrees below zero, forcing Cheka and his companions to expend a lot of mana to combat the cold to avoid being frozen stiff.

This was nothing, the main issue was the fierce high-altitude winds.

Extrely strong winds incessantly disturbed their bodies, making it nearly impossible to maintain balance. A slight carelessness and they’d be off course, demanding their utmost effort to continue rising straight up.

Only a few thousand more ters of ascent, and they truly wouldn’t be able to hold on. Was Richard trying to use this thod to shake them off? But could Richard guarantee to ascend to such a height?

Cheka stared at Richard, unable to help but wonder.

Just as he thought of this, his eyes suddenly narrowed. He saw Richard, who was still rising, suddenly halt, turn toward them with a glance, then raise his hand, unleashing a massive burst of red light.

“Whizz, whizz, whizz!”

“Whizz, whizz, whizz, whizz, whizz, whizz!”

Amidst the red light, from Richard’s Space Iron Ring, nearly a hundred remaining miniature magic tracking missiles were released and activated in an extrely short ti, bombarding Cheka and his companions with dense fury.

Cheka and his team were struggling to maintain their ascending state.

At full strength, similar to a fighter jet pushing its maximum climb, their movents were stiff, their mobility poor, almost impossible to dodge. Thus, as Cheka and his team were barely reacting, they faced this spectacular assault head-on.

Instantly, the sky exploded into a blaze of fire, illuminating the entire sky to the extent that it overshadowed the sunlight.

“Boom boom boom!”

“Boom boom boom boom boom boom!”
