"Boom!"

Long i’er was caught off guard by the attack of the Death Finger. Just as he was about to throw the dagger, energy struck his chest.

"Crack!"

The earth-yellow energy film on his body developed cracks, and the light rapidly dimd until only a thin layer remained. His body was propelled two hundred ters away.

Afterward, Long i’er flew horizontally for another dozen ters in the air before barely managing to stabilize himself. The energy film on his body was almost completely invisible.

Looking down at his chest, Long i’er glanced over at Richard, pursed his lips, and remarked, "Hmm, Wizard Richard, this attack was quite impressive. I really didn’t expect it. It seems you have many hidden tricks. However, although this attack was good, it’s still a bit short of injuring ."

"Just a bit short," Long i’er emphasized, spreading his arms wide as a bright earth-yellow energy film erged again to protect his body, rapidly closing in on Richard.

"Wizard Richard, let see how many tricks you still have up your sleeve!" Long i’er said, charging at Richard, forming a fist with one hand, ready to strike.

Richard felt a strong oppressive force enveloping him, like a mountain crashing down. If the dagger had struck him earlier, he would have been grievously injured, but now this punch would be fatal.

It’s death!

Richard’s muscles tensed. Without hesitation, he raised his hand, the Destructive Gloves aid at Long i’er.

Activating the Destructive Gloves’ full power, the ultimate strike!

A massive amount of Free Energy Elents poured into the Destructive Gloves, fully activating the Magic Chip.

"Swoosh!"

The Destructive Gloves emitted an dazzling golden light, surpassing the sun overhead.

"Buzz, buzz, buzz!"

The Destructive Gloves vibrated rapidly, with a crashing sound they shattered into dense fragnts, swirling toward Long i’er.

Each fragnt emitted a blinding golden light, as if the sun had split into nearly a hundred small suns, engulfing Long i’er’s charging figure.

Silence!

The sky suddenly turned silent, with only the bright light spreading in all directions.

Richard held his breath, intensely focused on the center of the golden light.

One second, two seconds, three seconds...

After a while, the fragnts of the Destructive Gloves dimd and began to fall downward, vanishing into the clouds.

Long i’er’s body appeared, the energy film on his body completely gone, suspended in mid-air, motionless. His eyes were half-closed, as if in contemplation or eternally asleep.

The destructive effect of the Destructive Gloves had co into play? Using powerful Prediction Magic to directly kill Long i’er, and now he was rely using so kind of Magic Tool to stay afloat in the air?

Richard’s heart sank: For him, this result wasn’t the worst, but it was still one of the three relatively bad outcos he had anticipated.

After all, with Long i’er’s death, the Truth Society of the Southern Free Federation would definitely not spare him. Although he had long considered the consequences of being exposed, he hadn’t expected it would happen so soon. To be frank, he truly hadn’t intended to kill Long i’er, just to injure him enough to abandon his orders against him.

But when it ca to actually fighting, things weren’t that simple, unless his power could completely overwhelm Long i’er. In reality, it was quite the reverse.

So what now? Dispose of the body and run?

Richard tried to approach Long i’er, slowly extending his hand.

Long i’er, floating in mid-air, suddenly blinked.

Richard’s movent froze, his hand stopped in mid-air, and he hesitantly asked, "Supervisor Long i’er?"

"Hmm." Long i’er responded, nodding like a revived corpse.

Long i’er’s expression was as if awakened from a dream, or deriving a conclusion from prolonged contemplation. He slowly looked over, eyes filled with admiration, and said, "Wizard Richard, the attack just now... was very powerful, truly capable of injuring , just lacking a bit of luck. Additionally, I noticed that the attack just now and the one before seem to have soul and spirit-targeted Prediction Magic attacks, extrely difficult to defend against, but ineffective against . It’s a pity."

With that, he shook his head.

Upon hearing Long i’er’s words, Richard slowly retreated, increasing the distance, his heart sinking deeper.

Long i’er wasn’t dead? And had not suffered any injuries under the Destructive Gloves’ attack?

That counts as the second of the three relatively bad anticipated outcos.

All along, he had thought the Destructive Gloves might fail against Level 4 Wizards or stronger enemies. Precisely because of these possibilities, he had been advancing plans to research and manufacture nuclear weapons, aiming for a more destructive strategic weapon capable of completely "turning the tables."

As the result, before nuclear weapons were even created, the Destructive Gloves were declared ineffective.

This is indeed a very bad situation.

At this mont, Long i’er looked over and spoke, "Wizard Richard, it’s truly a pity that your abilities surpass my expectations, but unfortunately, you’ve taken the wrong path. I really want to advise you, but I also understand you won’t easily change your mind. So, I’ll exert a bit more force to make you truly awaken!"

With that, Long i’er raised one hand slowly, eyes emitting a pitch-black light, like connecting to the Abyss. The surrounding sky darkened visibly, and several hundred ters of space seed separated from the world, forming a domain of its own.

Within the domain, underfoot were dense dark clouds, like black ink soaking, while overhead was a thick layer of thunder, like serpents dancing wildly.

So it wasn’t bad enough already, sothing worse was here... Richard’s eyes narrowed as he sensed a profound crisis from Long i’er’s actions and the surrounding changes.

"Awaken, Wizard Richard!"

Long i’er shouted, his voice striking like a hamr on the eardrum.

In an instant, the dark clouds boiled and thunder exploded, a dazzling white filled the field of vision.

Long i’er stepped forward leaving multiple afterimages, appearing before Richard, his raised hand pounding down, the entire domain space rapidly aligning on this single point.

Richard felt a chill wash over his entire body, his limbs frozen almost beyond control—an indication of being suppressed by powerful forces. Long i’er’s palm slowly close in, the speed was not extrely fast, as if wanting him to fully experience the despair before death, watching helplessly as it all unfolds. Richard couldn’t help but recall Long i’er’s actions in the Green Mor Forest—Long i’er had once killed a Level 4 Wizard enemy with a single palm.

Was Long i’er planning to kill him like this now, or would he stop at the last mont to let him miraculously survive and awaken?

Richard pondered, his nerves taut.

Facing deadly peril and such a formidable opponent as Long i’er, he dared not take risks.

The situation had already deteriorated to the extre, it couldn’t get worse.

Quick thoughts circulated, and all the Free Energy Elents in his Magic Origin violently surged, operating rapidly, activating, releasing, and taking effect within his body.
