Seriously.

Du Wei was a bit stunned...

He looked at Freddy, who was kneeling before him, fervently kowtowing with hands supporting the ground, desperately pleading, and was sowhat baffled.

What was going on?

"Please, Mr. Du Wei, grant a swift death, just end my life quickly; I know you have the power,"

Freddy said with a mournful voice. His pleading words inevitably aroused sympathy in anyone who listened.

What kind of experience had made him turn out this way...?

But Du Wei had no sympathy at all.

His purpose was to ask Freddy about Rahr's Bell.

At the sa ti, the voice of Ryan, clamoring from the handset he held in his hand, reached his ears.

Ryan was ranting, "Director, don't listen to this idiot's nonsense; it's trying to hoodwink you. This dumbass just said it was going to confront the Demon Nun."

"Although I don't know what a Demon Nun is, as soon as I heard the na Freddy, I felt it was no good person. You absolutely mustn't believe its lies!"

Freddy cursed angrily, "Ryan, cut the crap. If I want to face the Demon Nun, it's because you forced . If you didn't co to insult and humiliate regularly, would I be so desperate to die?"

As he spoke, Freddy continued to kowtow to Du Wei.

"Mr. Du Wei, I was foolish before. I shouldn't have bothered you for no reason. You wanted that piano; I should've simply handed it over. But now, things have turned out like this."

"I guess I must be totally useless to you now, right?"

"Just put out of my misery, let go to hell or heaven—I really don't want to live anymore!"

Freddy's eyes were brimming with tears as he wept and clutched his head.

While crying, he crawled towards Du Wei, seemingly trying to grab onto his legs.

"Shut up!"

Du Wei frowned and spoke with an impatient tone.

Ryan, on the other end of the phone, got angry, "Freddy, are you deaf? Shut up, did you hear !"

Their conversation was getting on Du Wei's nerves.

Perhaps decades ago, the two, who could have been described as stepfather and son, had a relationship that was becoming increasingly strained, although it might have been just as tense before.

But...

This was certainly more excessive than ever, with both parties cursing each other at every turn.

Thus, Du Wei spoke to Ryan on the other end of the phone, "I have to ask Freddy sothing. After I've asked, then we can talk about your matter."

Ryan responded eagerly, "Is it about my promotion and raise?"

Du Wei answered vaguely, "The welfare system of our hospital hasn't been worked out yet, so the promotion and raise have to wait. However, I can bestow upon you the honorary title of my assistant."

Ryan sounded a bit disappointed at first but then excitedly said, "Director, you're so aweso already, becoming your assistant would make pretty aweso too, wouldn't it?"

In his world view, Director Du Wei was the most aweso person. Being the only doctor just below Du Wei was the highest complint for him.

Du Wei nodded and said, "You can think of it that way, but I don't really recomnd you tell others; after all, it's just an honorary title, it's enough that you know it yourself."

Ryan spoke with a grave tone, "I get it... I understand... If others found out, they'd surely be envious of my talent. If they insult my honor, my dical career might be interrupted."

"Damn, those people are really too bad!"

Du Wei agreed a few tis, and then he managed to quieten Ryan down before turning his head to look at the devastated Freddy.

At this mont.

Freddy was flabbergasted.

The conversations between Du Wei and Ryan were not hidden at all; they were spoken right in front of him.

After listening, the only thought in its mind was...

"This devil is in cahoots with Ryan."

"These two are both insane..."

"How could anyone say such utterly illogical things if they weren't crazy?"

"And sothing about an honorary title as a 'deputy'."

"Do they really think everyone in the world, besides themselves, is crazy? And that they are the doctors?"

"Is the world too mad?"

Thoughts tumbled incessantly in Freddy's mind.

It roared within, "I, Freddy, lost to a madman? No… two madn?"

Du Wei had no idea what Freddy was thinking.

But he could tell that Freddy was indeed acting strangely, possibly because he had been confined for too long, leading to ntal issues.

He needed to quickly get the information he wanted.

Otherwise, after so ti, this nightmare might beco a lunatic.

Thinking this,

he hurriedly asked in a cold voice, "Freddy, you ntioned Rahr's Bell before, didn't you? Tell everything you know about this bell, and perhaps I can grant you a swift end."

Freddy looked at Du Wei with a complicated expression.

Struggle and contemplation flashed through its eyes.

Hesitant, but eventually, it could only sigh helplessly with a woebegone face, "Rahr's Bell, why would you ask about that thing?"

Du Wei lowered his head, looking down at it, and said, "Because I suspect that one of the antique clocks in my house is the Rahr's Bell you ntion."

Freddy's face turned to shock, "What? You have an antique clock in your house? Is it the one with the holy relief of angels on its surface, and a goat's head on the back?"

Du Wei pondered for a mont.

It seed that the antique clock at ho was indeed like that.

He replied, "Yes, but it has been damaged, and for the most part, its hands overlap and move together."

Freddy blurted out, "No... devils... no, Mr. Du Wei, you've misunderstood."

"That's how Rahr's Bell is supposed to be. Many years ago, that bastard, that beast Ryan Hal, used so thod to limit Rahr's Bell."

"Since then, it has been no different from an ordinary clock."

"But if it breaks through the limitations, the hands will overlap."

Du Wei sharply noticed so issues and quickly asked, "You an to say Rahr's Bell once belonged to Ryan Hal?"

Freddy reluctantly said, "Yes, my knowledge about Rahr's Bell also cos from Ryan Hal. That bastard has always been scouring the world for these kinds of items, I don't know what he was thinking."

Hearing this,

Du Wei couldn't help but muse, "If the antique clock is Rahr's Bell, then based on the information Alex helped look up, the owner of Rahr's Bell twenty years ago

was the blond exorcist who died in the outskirts of New York, in the church that was the predecessor to Hill Psychiatric Hospital."

"The mask, antique clock, and oil painting I now have were also collected by that person."

"Which ans, Ryan Hal was that blond exorcist…"

"And, twenty years ago, another mber of the Vanity Sect also died in New York."

"The reason rcer created the blood sacrifice around the Horror House was to suppress the Primitive Mask beneath the ground of Horror House."

"Because, with the thirteen masks, each one harbors a demon spirit."

"And when I was in Jedecra State, I also obtained so related information."

"Ryan Hal was very close to a mber of the Vanity Sect, and they both studied Hell's Gate."

"Could it be that the mber of the Vanity Sect who died in New York was that friend of Ryan Hal?"
