“fuck!”
“I’ve never seen anything like this in my life, buddy, can you please explain to just what the hell is going on?”
In the New York Police Departnt, inside Tom’s office.
He was frantically pointing at the surveillance footage, turning his head to look at Du Wei standing by his side, hoping to get an answer, or else he’d have a hard ti explaining to his superiors.
Just a few days after his promotion, an incident occurred in New York capable of inciting public chaos.
In a sense, this would reflect on Tom.
...
Even if the chaos were to be suppressed, Tom wouldn’t be demoted, but his superiors wouldn’t let the matter slide that easily; a scolding and bla were inevitable.
Hearing this, Du Wei standing beside him looked at the surveillance footage with a similarly unusual tone, “Don’t panic just yet, let finish watching the surveillance, and I will give you a reasonable response.”
In the footage.
Du Wei saw that in the early hours of the morning, Hannibal had been chatting with so cultists outside the clinic, and then a group of them went inside, followed shortly by Hannibal entering as well.
After that, everything fell eerily silent.
Those who entered seed swallowed by darkness.
Then, inexplicably, Hannibal ca out from the shadows as if he had never gone inside the clinic at all.
Du Wei had known before that Hannibal was not dead but was unclear about what exactly had happened inside.
Was it an ability, or perhaps so special object?
Or maybe it was a rule he had never encountered.
But now it seed, it must be an ability.
So, he silently said to himself, “An ability to replace soone in death, it seems like the opposite extre of my marking ability.”
Hannibal’s ability was to save his own life, whereas Du Wei’s ability was to commit suicide.
If it weren’t in a dream, he wouldn’t have activated the mark so decisively.
He continued to watch.
Then he saw the cultists start a fire, attempting to burn down the clinic, but afterwards, so abnormal phenona seed to occur that caused the surveillance footage to lose its signal…
When the signal was restored, Hannibal and the others could be seen entering one after the other.
And then…
At the clinic’s doorway, Du Wei spotted a blood mist splattering on the window…
“Did everyone who went in burst into blood mist?”
Seeing this, Du Wei’s eyebrows twitched; the only things at his house were the Antique Clock, Annabelle, and that oil painting.
The oil painting and Annabelle, one related to Hell’s Gate, the other possessing the power to gather evil spirits.
To burst into blood mist…
This was a thod Du Wei had only seen the Evil Spirit use…
During the ti he was in debt, Du Wei could also use this power, but his essence was still human after all, and using it could not achieve this effect. 𝖗â𐌽ÖᛒËṣ
“No… the Evil Spirit is still in the mirror, if it ca to reality, I would definitely feel it.”
“So is it the Antique Clock?”
Du Wei deduced the answer in his mind; the surveillance footage captured too little, he could only exclude the unlikely possibilities and choose the most probable one.
Then, the footage showed cultist after cultist bursting into blood mist, with Hannibal frantically running for his life.
Not a single person survived.
The sight left Du Wei with a chill in his heart, as he surmised that if he were to face off against the Antique Clock, his fate would likely not be much better than Hannibal’s.
At that mont.
Tom, who was also watching the monitor at the side, revealed a satisfied smile, and with a hint of hatred in his voice, he said, “Damn cultists, damn crazy woman, every ti I see this surveillance footage, I feel my soul shaking, all of you should be sent to et God.”
Upon hearing this.
Du Wei sharply inhaled and quickly said to Tom, “Your ntal state seems a bit off, when did you start hating the Veda Sect so much?”
Tom shuddered, clenching his teeth without uttering a word, but tears appeared in his eyes.
He waved his hand at Du Wei, signaling him not to inquire further.
Just then, the surveillance footage had stopped at the scene where Hannibal was accelerating on a motorcycle down the street, only to explode into a mist of blood in front of pedestrians.
Du Wei looked at Tom seriously and said, “I might be able to give you an answer to this, but there is a significant issue with your ntal state, and I will be very busy for a while. If you don’t clarify things with now, it may be difficult for you to reach later.”
An Evil Spirit marked can only be used once.
Unless Du Wei were to mark on the spot a second ti.
And now, the only things he had marked were the bus and the dark shadow.
The piano and Freddy, he had completely abandoned.
Giving up Freddy was because Du Wei needed it to dream for him, and he gave up the very useful piano to prevent the scene of death from becoming reality, as well as to eliminate any possibility of Freddy appearing.
After all, Freddy and the piano were linked together.
Thus, Du Wei would look for another suitable Evil Spirit to add to his forces.
Tom, looking at Du Wei’s solemn face, grasped his hair in so pain.
Then, he spoke with great conflict, “Tell the answer first, I… I need to think about whether or not to share my issue with you, because it is just too embarrassing.”
Du Wei frowned and said, “Alright, my friend.”
“I interfered with the Veda Sect’s plans before, and I’ve always had enmity with them, as you know, they have launched many attacks on .”
“It seems that Hannibal has now joined the Veda Sect, and he ca to New York with so people intending to make a move on .”
At this point, Du Wei made a gesture to Tom and lowered his voice, “But I was dealing with the Evil Spirit incidents in New York all of yesterday, and the reason for their change probably relates to sothing in my house.”
“As an Exorcist, so things that cannot be resolved are sealed in my ho.”
“Of course, I don’t recomnd you tell your superiors about this, you can phrase it differently, for instance, that they provoked so terrifying Evil Spirit, and then, boom, they exploded.”
Tom’s face beca extrely animated, his eyes widening as he stared at Du Wei, almost bursting out in curse, “The first ti I t you, I almost entered your house, fuck! How… how can you keep such terrifying stuff at ho?”
Du Wei calmly said, “There are only more such things in the church, even more terrifying than those in my house.”
“Alright… I get your point.”
Tom reluctantly accepted this reason, after all, this was not the first ti he had “handled” cases in cooperation with Du Wei.
But then.
Tom asked, “What about Hannibal? He’s already ‘died’ three tis, hasn’t he? Isn’t it possible that he’s still alive?”
Du Wei answered, “Maybe he’s alive, maybe he’s dead.”
Tom couldn’t understand, “You don’t seem to be very worried about Hannibal? If I rember correctly, you told before that this man is extrely dangerous?”
With a slight chill in his gaze, Du Wei calmly said, “That’s why it was before, not now.”
Besides, he would soon be looking for Hannibal, and if he was dead, that would be the end of it.
If not dead, Du Wei wouldn’t mind lending him a hand.
