The baby wasn’t very big, and since it was a natural birth, plus Chai Eying’s good health and nutrition, the process went smoothly.

Li Yuzhu just monitored her physical data on the side, while Nanny Jiang personally delivered the baby.

Once the baby was born, Princess Consort Luling called Li Yuzhu to quickly grab the little blanket. She brought over a basin, wet a towel with warm water, and wiped the gri off the baby.

Amid everyone’s laughter, only the baby was wailing aloud.

"Third Miss, listen, his cry is strong, it’s a boy!" Nanny Jiang said with a smile.

"Eying, you’ve worked hard. The baby is healthy and looks like you." Princess Consort Luling squeezed her hand, bringing the baby to her side to see.

The baby, having been soaked in amniotic fluid in the womb, was all wrinkled.

Chai Eying was about to cry; does he look like her? She couldn’t see the resemblance; why was he so ugly?

Princess Consort Luling grabbed the prepared scale, and Li Yuzhu and Nanny Jiang carefully weighed the baby.

"Six pounds and six ounces," Princess Consort Luling said with a smile, "two ounces heavier than when Jingjing was born."

The three dressed the baby, wrapped him in the little blanket, and laid him in the small crib beside Chai Eying.

The little guy, eyes closed, cried softly like a tiny kitten.

Princess Consort Luling gave the baby so warm boiled water.

Chai Eying gave birth on the couch, at Li Yuzhu’s request, for easy delivery.

So families have the mother give birth in bed, where the midwife has to climb up, making it difficult to operate, leaving the bed a ss.

She rembered so noble families in the Capital preparing special delivery rooms with special small beds or chairs for birthing.

The Li Family didn’t have extra rooms, but Chai Eying’s bedroom was spacious.

They added a small couch, making it like a modern hospital delivery bed, perfect for delivery.

Nanny Jiang kept praising how good this thod was during the delivery.

When the lochia below Chai Eying’s body lessened, Nanny Jiang helped tidy her, wrapped her with nstrual cloth, and helped her to a padded bed.

Only then did Princess Consort Luling bring the baby to her side, smiling, "Try feeding him so milk."

Chai Eying shyly lifted her clothes, while Princess Consort Luling adjusted the baby closer. The little one, tasting food, started suckling imdiately.

Chai Eying looked at the infant, surprised, "He can eat."

Nanny Jiang laughed, "Isn’t it an old saying that people are born knowing how to eat?"

Princess Consort Luling laughed along with it.

"Mother, can I co in now?" Li Xingmao asked for the umpteenth ti outside the room.

He had already heard the baby’s voice, but Princess Consort Luling hadn’t let him in.

Saying his presence wouldn’t help and would only create chaos.

"Madam, let the eldest go in and have a look," Prince Luling urged as well.

Outside were Li Yu En, Li Jing, Guoguo, and Mu Yuanxiu.

Li Yu En held a child’s hand in each of his.

When they heard Chai Eying’s cries of pain, they were tense, neither restless nor noisy, standing quietly.

Only when they heard the baby’s cries did they start to smile.

Li Jing also asked, "Mother? How is mother?"

"Why the rush? Things must progress step by step." Princess Consort Luling ca out, smiling, and waved everyone in. "Co and see if you want; a six-pound six-ounce chubby boy with a voice that can shake the heavens."

"Hahaha, I heard it’s even louder than the eldest’s at birth," Prince Luling laughed heartily.

Li Xingmao was the first to dash into the bedroom.

Li Yuzhu happened to co out from behind a screen and nearly bumped into him. She joked, "Brother, slow down; you almost ran into ."

"Eying?" Li Xingmao bypassed Li Yuzhu and rushed towards the bed.

On the bed, Chai Eying, wearing a headscarf, gave Li Xingmao a gentle smile, "Co look at our child."

"Okay," Li Xingmao moved in to hold him.

Nanny Jiang reached underneath to support, afraid he’d fumble and drop the baby.

Chai Eying laughed, "Nanny, this isn’t the first ti for my husband being a father; why worry he can’t hold the baby?"

Li Xingmao said, "But this is Eying’s first child, so I must be extra careful."

Chai Eying looked at him, the corners of her lips lifting into a smile.

Li Xingmao cautiously cradled the newborn.

The baby, having had a few sips of milk, fell asleep again.

Guoguo and Jingjing rushed in together.

"I want to see my brother too, Dad, let see," Li Jing tugged at Li Xingmao’s robes.

"Alright, everyone co and see." Li Xingmao sat on a chair, allowing the two children to look.

Guoguo watched the baby, his face gradually breaking into a smile.

Li Jing looked curious, "He’s asleep. When will he wake up to play with ?"
