Cheng Rouyin expressed her dissatisfaction with her husband's indifferent attitude: "Our daughter is right. Don't let your heart lean toward outsiders."

The single word "outsider" made Lin Kunhuai's expression freeze in place. Indeed, Lin Banxia was rely a daughter he and his ex-wife had adopted—there was no blood relation between them. Even the two elderly family mbers were kept in the dark about this. But now, as this matter touched upon their imdiate interests, Lin Kunhuai had no choice but to reevaluate this father-daughter relationship.

"Exactly, she's no different from an outsider; she was raised outside since she was young." Lin Shiyi, unaware that Lin Banxia wasn't her half-sister but had no familial connection at all, could only spit her resentnt and agree fervently.

"Right now, my company's transformation is at a critical juncture. Don't stir up trouble at such a crucial mont. Regardless of whether Banxia and Huo Yanting have any future together, for now, you're not to ddle. Do you all hear clearly?" Lin Kunhuai, as the head of the household, was strategic and farsighted, understanding what would be most advantageous at this point.

"Husband, don't worry. I'll guide our daughter well." Cheng Rouyin quickly stepped forward to pacify him after seeing Lin Kunhuai lose his temper, not daring to push further.

Lin Kunhuai went upstairs, leaving Lin Shiyi to continue her tantrum.

At that mont, a convoy of black vehicles entered the night.

The city, the Capital of this nation, was dazzling in its prosperity—the magnificence of its nightscape left people astonished.

Dragging her suitcase, Lin Banxia appeared to stay close to Huo Yanting as they walked out of the Lin Family's ho. Yet once she entered the luxurious extended car, her arrogance suddenly deflated.

She hurriedly and nervously withdrew her hand from Huo Yanting's firm grasp. The man's dark and brooding gaze fell upon her.

"What's this? Used just now, only to discard already?" His dissatisfied voice reverberated deeply.

Lin Banxia, hearing this, grew even more flustered and panicked, forcing out two awkward laughs: "Surely Mr. Huo must be joking. How could I dare discard you? I simply felt I'd troubled you earlier and wouldn't dare cling to you further now."

"It seems you're quite self-aware." Huo Yanting's gaze cooled slightly.

Lin Banxia timidly answered in a small voice, brimming with misplaced confidence: "In front of Mr. Huo, I wouldn't dare be presumptuous. Naturally, sticking to so rules feels better."

"But I don't like won being too clever, and I despise rules." As Huo Yanting spoke, his powerful and untad figure leaned aggressively toward her. The masculine scent enveloping her was mixed with the aroma of tobacco and a uniquely refined fragrance exuding from his person. It wasn't at all repellent—in fact, it was so enticing she couldn't help but want to inhale more greedily.

Lin Banxia froze abruptly, instinctively leaning back until her upper body was taut. Her delicate face tensed completely.

"Mr... Mr. Huo..." She trembled as she called him, her lips shaking, almost losing her voice.

Inside the softly lit car, the man gazed down at her delicate face. Her black, gently curled lashes cast dense shadows across her pale eyelids, obscuring eyes so transparent and pure they looked like crystals. Beneath her finely shaped nose, her lips—rubied with vivid red like freshly picked roses—were alluringly sweet and tempting, inciting an urge to devour them.

As if sensing the man's stare lingering on her lips, Lin Banxia grew even more nervous and bit down on her lower lip, exposing a glimr of tiny, snow-white teeth.

To Lin Banxia, this subconscious gesture was rely an attempt to ease her current tension. Yet, to Huo Yanting, it was outright life-threatening.

This damn woman dared to blatantly seduce him, igniting flas within his body that roared unbearably high.
