In the early morning, Tong Keke woke up from her dream. The winter sun outside the window poured through the pink floor-to-ceiling windows, shining on her face. She reached out to block the sunlight, her pretty cheeks glowing rosy and enchanting after a night’s rest.
She slowly sat up, stretched lazily, with the corners of her lips carrying a trace of a smile. Finally, it was vacation ti—finally, she could spend day after day with her uncle. How delightful!
Thinking about spending the entire winter break under her uncle’s care, Tong Keke’s mood brightened imnsely. She got up, washed up, and headed downstairs!
Like a joyful little bird, she flew down the stairs. Even in the living room, she could already sll the aroma of toast wafting from the kitchen.
Her pink little tongue unconsciously licked her lips. Tong Keke quickly ran over and saw Gu Qianxi in the kitchen, wearing a gray turtleneck sweater, earnestly preparing breakfast for her.
The man’s handso features looked youthful and refined, exuding an extraordinary air.
Tong Keke had long felt that her uncle didn’t appear old at all. It was rely his profession and the angelic white coat he often wore that lent him a mature aura. But beneath the morning sunlight shining through the glass windows onto his fra, he carried the radiant charm of a young man.
"Uncle..." Tong Keke couldn’t help but call him. The next second, she darted toward him like an octopus, tightly hugging his sturdy fra from behind, her soft cheeks pressed against his back, laughing coquettishly.
Gu Qianxi glanced at the two delicate, fair hands clinging to his chest. His refined and handso face softened with gentle indulgence. "Awake already?"
"Yes, Uncle, are you making breakfast for ?" Tong Keke peeked her little head out from behind him, eyeing the fragrant toast he was making.
"Mm!" The man nodded with a magnetic voice.
"Uncle, you’re so wonderful. How could I possibly let you be taken by any other woman? You’re mine!" Tong Keke instantly turned into a possessive little beast, tightening her tiny hands around him even more. "I, Tong Keke, will have you all to myself!"
Hearing her childlike words, Gu Qianxi couldn’t help but laugh out loud. "Who would’ve thought you’d be so brazen?"
Tong Keke puckered her lips and said proudly, "Only in front of Uncle can I speak my mind like this."
Gu Qianxi gently pried apart her little hands and turned around to face her, his gaze tender and his tone indulgent. "All your bad habits are the result of my spoiling you. I couldn’t bear to let you live with another man; I fear they wouldn’t tolerate your quirks, and you’d end up hurt."
Listening to his heartfelt words, Tong Keke felt a warmth spreading through her heart. Her eyes turned red, and she imdiately threw herself into his arms, choking up. "Uncle, promise you won’t marry another woman!"
"Silly girl!"
"Please!" Tong Keke, seeing his lack of response, tilted her little face up, her tear-filled eyes gazing at him imploringly. Her pitiful deanor made it impossible for anyone to reject her.
Gu Qianxi sighed, softly stroking her silky long hair. "I promise, never in this lifeti will I marry anyone but you!"
The gloom on Tong Keke’s worried little face instantly turned into sunshine. She smiled radiantly, delighted beyond words.
She knew her uncle never lied. If he made a promise, he would always keep it.
"Keke, I’m heading to the hospital in a bit. If you want to go out, have my driver take you. Don’t wander off on your own, understood?" Gu Qianxi reminded her, full of concern.
"Don’t worry. If I get bored, I’ll hang out with my friends for a while and make sure I co ho early so you won’t worry," Tong Keke replied cheerfully.
"Alright, rember to call if anything cos up. Don’t get too carried away while playing!" Gu Qianxi was genuinely worried about her. Though she was already eighteen years old, he still treated her like a little child, always concerned.
