At the dining table, Yan Ting and Cheng Roning chatted about work-related matters, while Banxia secretly added so food to his plate. When he lowered his head and saw that piece of at, his eyes darkened slightly.
"I don’t like greasy food!" Banxia laughed.
Yan Ting then rembered that she was pregnant now, so he gladly ate the at she had placed on his plate.
After the al, Yan Ting was ready to leave. Banxia walked him to the door.
She was reluctant to part!
The winter midday sun shone on the girl. She was dressed in a slightly loose white down jacket, looking fresh and clean.
"I’m heading to the office now; call if anything cos up," Yan Ting said in a deep voice.
"Mm-hmm!" Banxia nodded obediently, appearing as though she didn’t know what else to say.
There were so things she wanted to say in her heart, but she worried they might sound too cheesy if spoken aloud, making even her feel embarrassed.
"If you miss , call too." Yan Ting leaned closer to her ear and whispered softly.
Banxia’s face inexplicably turned red, and she shyly responded with another gentle "Mm."
Watching Yan Ting’s car drive away, Banxia still seed lost in her thoughts.
It wasn’t until a snapping sound behind her startled her that she turned around to see her older brother, Ji Yang, looking at her with a mischievous expression.
"What are you doing? You gave a fright!" Banxia puffed her cheeks and glared at him.
Ji Yang grinned and teased, "If you’re so reluctant to let him go, why not let him marry you and take you ho already? He’s bound to get tired of seeing you every day!"
"Stop talking nonsense!" Banxia flushed with anger. When her brother was being serious, she couldn’t help but admire him; but when he was ssing around, she just wanted to ball her fists and hit him.
Ji Yang lazily opened the door to his car, saying, "Big Brother also has to go to the office—are you going to bid a tearful farewell too, Little Sister?"
Banxia laughed in exasperation. "I’d never send you off! Besides, drive carefully—haven’t you crashed your car twice already?"
"Don’t make things up! You were the one who crashed into once!" Ji Yang retorted unhappily.
Banxia then recalled those two amusing encounters and simply waved her hand at him. "Whatever. Just drive carefully no matter what!"
"Got it!" Ji Yang shut his car door and drove away.
Ti flew by, and three days had already passed. Banxia stayed at her mother’s ho, savoring the feeling of being with family.
She felt that every family was truly different. Back at the Lin Family, she always felt a sense of coldness. Maybe it was because she wasn’t Lin Kunhuai’s biological daughter, coupled with the hostility from Shiyi and her mother.
But now, being at her biological mother’s house, whether it was her big brother or younger sister, there was an ease and comfort in how they interacted with her.
anwhile, at the Huo Family!
Mrs. Huo received a phone call!
"Tingting?" Mrs. Huo hadn’t expected Chu Tingting to call her.
"Grandma Huo, I’ve been having nightmares the past couple of days. In my dreams, you pushed into a room, and I nearly died there. Tell , Grandma, how do I fix this? Do you have any solutions?" Chu Tingting asked in a sorrowful tone.
Mrs. Huo’s face stiffened as she frowned. "Tingting, what do you an by that? You had nightmares—are you suggesting I’m the cause?"
"Grandma, could it be that you’re getting too old, and you’ve already forgotten what you told before?" Chu Tingting asked in a seemingly innocent tone.
Mrs. Huo’s expression suddenly turned grim. "Chu Tingting, what exactly are you trying to do?"
"I’m not trying to do anything. It’s just that I’ve been suffering from insomnia and bad dreams lately. My mom and Grandma have been asking if I’ve gone through anything traumatic." Chu Tingting continued in her innocent tone.
Mrs. Huo suddenly snapped, shouting angrily, "Are you trying to threaten ?"
