Huo Qinglin never expected his father would reject this condition. He was dumbfounded for a mont, staring at his father, his expression turning ashen.
Huo Tianfeng gauged his son’s reaction and, noticing the dimming light in his son’s eyes, he snapped angrily, "Look at you! Is this all you’re capable of? All you do is think about won day and night! When it cos to work, why have I never seen you put your mind to it?"

Huo Qinglin’s head shot up, looking at his father in disbelief. "Handle it myself? You want to kidnap her? Dad, no way—I can’t do it."
"You’re afraid Lin Banxia will hate you after she finds out, aren’t you? Useless coward! How many tis have I told you—don’t get too emotionally invested in trivial romances! And yet, you never listen..."
"So, when you claim to love my mom, the truth is you still love your mistresses outside, isn’t that right?" Huo Qinglin suddenly retaliated, his voice brimming with bitterness and anger.
Huo Tianfeng froze!
"What do you know?" His father’s brow furrowed deeply.
Huo Qinglin lifted his head, his gaze locking onto his father. "When I was thirteen years old, I went to your office to find you. That was the first ti I saw you ssing around with another woman. Over the next few years, I secretly followed you. You’ve had at least five won."
"You’ve got a lot of nerve..."
"Dad, didn’t you always scold for being useless? Didn’t you always criticize for indulging in won all the ti? Would you say this is learning from the master, then?" Huo Qinglin unburdened himself of all the pain he had been suppressing deep down.
Huo Tianfeng trembled violently, lowering his head as his aged face flushed crimson. "Since you already know... your mother..."
"My mother is just a foolish woman. She’s always believed you love her the most," Huo Qinglin said, his heart aching like it was being carved with a knife.
No child wants their mother to be deceived and hurt. Huo Qinglin was no exception. Thus, he both depended on his father and felt a profound sense of disappointnt in him.
Huo Tianfeng let out a mocking laugh. "Fine. Since you know about my affairs, I hope you can keep them hidden from your mother. Honestly, I may not have any feelings for her, but I’ve never shortchanged her materially."
"My mom is greedy for money, which is why you hold her in such contempt. I get it. I’ve seen far too many won like her—greedy and materialistic. They probably deserve it," Huo Qinglin remarked with an indifferent attitude, as though he had seen through life’s truths.
