Chu Tingting’s mood grew heavy as she thought about her missing cousin.
"Cousin, you’ve been searching for over twenty years. Is there really not a single clue? I wonder if my cousin is still alive." Chu Tingting remarked wistfully.
"No matter how slim the chances are, I have to keep searching seriously. I don’t want my grandmother to pass with regrets." Mu Jiyang thought of his grandmother lying on the hospital bed, and his heart ached as if being cut by a knife.
"Cousin, if there’s anything I can do to help, you must let know. After all, I really hope you can find her soon."
"Mm, I’ll do everything I can to find her. I won’t say more, gotta go now!" Mu Jiyang gripped his phone tightly, looking up at the street filled with young won passing by. He felt an unspeakable sadness in his heart.
It had been over twenty years. Where on earth was his poor sister?
Was she doing okay? Had she been bullied? Was there soone who cared for her, loved her?
Mu Jiyang, a grown man, couldn’t help but have his eyes moisten. He thought to himself, once he found his sister, he swore he would cherish, love, and protect her for the rest of his life, never letting anyone bully her again or make her suffer.
But he had already exhausted every thod he could think of, yet still, there was no news.
A constant, sorrowful sense of helplessness lingered.
Lin Banxia drove for a while before parking by the roadside. She felt stifled and realized she was quite hungry.
She glanced over at a nearby noodle shop, steaming hot and serving beef noodles.
She rembered eating there before. The food was really good, and she really wanted to go in and try it again.
Lin Banxia pulled down the visor’s mirror, looking at her own face, which appeared much younger.
Perhaps she hadn’t yet endured too much grievance and resentnt; she felt her complexion looked rosier and healthier compared to her previous life.
She gazed at the people passing by her car, coming and going in endless streams.
If she got out like this, would soone recognize her? Would she be beaten again?
Damn it!
It was all Chu Tingting’s fault for saring her reputation this far, making her so uneasy even about stepping outside.
She wished she could call Huo Yanting to teach Chu Tingting a lesson and vent her anger.
Lin Banxia pulled out the pair of sunglasses she used for showing off when she was younger, and raised her scarf higher.
Only then did she open the car door and step out.
As she approached the noodle shop, the aroma of beef wafted out, making her involuntarily lick her lips. She really was starving.
"Boss, pack two orders of beef noodles for !" Lin Banxia looked at the crowded and lively scene inside and opted to take her food to go.
The reason she ordered two servings was that she wondered if Aunt Lan had returned ho; she’d take her one as well.
After waiting for more than ten minutes, the noodles were ready. She paid and drove off toward the pear garden.
She took out her key and unlocked the door, calling out Aunt Lan’s na several tis, but there was no response. She thought to herself that Aunt Lan might have gone ho too.
"Eating noodles alone is really boring. I need to find a movie to watch later," Lin Banxia muttered softly.
When she walked into the living room, she reached out to turn on the light. As the room lit up, she was startled.
Sitting on the sofa was a tall, sturdy man. It was almost as if he had been waiting for her to turn on the light.
"Huo Yanting? Am I dreaming?" Lin Banxia saw the man, and her beautiful eyes instantly lit up in surprise. She instinctively pinched her cheek: "Ouch, that hurts!"
Huo Yanting was amused by her adorable reaction. He stood up and walked straight toward her: "Silly girl, are you really that shocked to see ?"
"But... didn’t you say you couldn’t co near recently?" Lin Banxia stamred.
Huo Yanting looked down at her from his towering height, then leaned near her ear and whispered softly: "I missed you. What can I do?"
