Tong Keke looked at Gong Ze in astonishnt, while Gong Ze’s gaze carried a hint of provocation as he directed it toward Gu Qianxi. Then, domineeringly, he walked over and handed the rose in his hand to Tong Keke. "This is for you!"
Tong Keke imdiately refused, "Gong Ze, what are you doing? Giving roses so openly like this violates school rules. If the student council catches us, we’ll be criticized tomorrow."
Gong Ze said indifferently, "It’s just a bouquet of flowers. No one dares to say anything."
"You don’t care because your dad is a shareholder in this school. I’m not, and with exams coming up, I don’t want to court trouble. Just take the flowers back, I won’t accept them." Tong Keke’s voice was cold. Her uncle was right by her side; she wouldn’t let him misunderstand anything.
Gu Qianxi’s face darkened as well, his voice carrying a warning. "Stay away from Keke from now on."
Gong Ze raised an eyebrow, his expression playful as he looked at Gu Qianxi. "Uncle, ever heard the saying ’an old bull eating tender grass’?"
Gu Qianxi’s handso face instantly turned cold, while Tong Keke grew furious. "Gong Ze, what nonsense are you spouting?"
Even though Gong Ze wasn’t very old, he was still a man, with an emotional sensitivity beyond that of his peers. He was well aware that, even if Gu Qianxi didn’t harbor any inappropriate thoughts toward Tong Keke, the person hidden deep within Keke’s heart was undoubtedly him.
How could Gong Ze not feel jealous?
"Uncle, let’s go, don’t mind him!" Tong Keke glanced at her uncle, noticing his visibly dispirited expression. She quickly grabbed his large hand with her small one and tried to drag him away.
Gu Qianxi knew, of course, that he shouldn’t stoop to argue with soone so much younger than himself.
Gong Ze narrowed his eyes, watching Tong Keke clutch Gu Qianxi’s large hand tightly, and his jealousy burned crimson in his eyes.
Among all the students in this school, he had sifted through them one by one and realized that only Tong Keke, this fiery little pepper, matched his taste.
Unfortunately, her heart was occupied by soone else. Gong Ze felt indignant and made up his mind—no matter what, he was determined to win Tong Keke’s heart.
Seated in the car, Gu Qianxi’s mood still hadn’t recovered; he remained sowhat dejected.
Tong Keke’s beautiful eyes darted around nervously, her tone anxious as she asked, "Uncle, don’t listen to his nonsense. We aren’t bothering him; what right does he have to ddle in our affairs?"
"Keke..." The man’s voice was slightly low as he stared at the area illuminated by the headlights in front of them. "Are we really... suitable?"
"Uncle, what do you an by that? Are you saying you don’t want anymore?" Tong Keke froze completely, her bright eyes brimming with tears that quickly spilled over.
Gu Qianxi turned to look at her and saw tears streaking down her face like strings of broken pearls. His heart clenched suddenly—an overwhelming ache.
"From now on, let’s try to avoid certain people when we’re together." Gu Qianxi knew this little one was wholehearted in her feelings for him. It was his own hesitation and indecision that had hurt her so many tis. Gently, he handed her a tissue. "Wipe your tears, let’s go."
Only then did Tong Keke take the tissue, wiping away her tears and snot as she cald down. She spoke quietly, "Alright, I’ll be more cautious in the future. I won’t let Uncle feel troubled again."
Gu Qianxi listened to her obedient words and felt a pang in his heart. He reached out and held her small hand. "You won’t trouble ; what I’m afraid of is you being troubled."
"I have thicker skin than you do, so I won’t feel troubled at all. Uncle, you’ve spoiled . When I act willful, you end up being scared, don’t you?" Tong Keke suddenly broke into a smile, her mischievous wicked grin returning.
Gu Qianxi couldn’t help but laugh, nodding. "I’ve grown accustod to spoiling you; it’d be difficult to change now."
"Uncle, that habit of yours is wonderful, don’t change it!" Tong Keke said with a sly smile.
