Yan Ting was silently lost in thought about that maddeningly captivating little woman when, suddenly, a figure appeared beside him.
Yan Ting’s sharp eyes narrowed in alert, instinctively reacting defensively. However, when he saw the face with that mocking expression, his gaze imdiately turned icy.
"What do you want?" he asked coldly.
Huo Qinglin lowered his head, reached into his jacket, took out a cigarette, and lit it, taking a deep drag.
"Getting relentlessly hounded by a woman you don’t even love—this act must be exhausting for you," Huo Qinglin sneered, a taunting smile on his lips as he spoke.
Yan Ting’s cold eyes turned even frostier. Pressing his thin lips together, he said nothing.
"Before, Lin Banxia was exactly like Chu Tingting. I couldn’t stand her. Hated her with all my being," Huo Qinglin said, more to himself than anyone else, before letting out a lancholic chuckle. "But now, I wish more than anything that she’d co and cling to of her own accord."
"You brought this on yourself. Since you’ve already broken up with her, why can’t you let her go?" Yan Ting said, utterly devoid of sympathy, his tone dripping with disdain. "Honestly, I think you’re ntally unwell."
Huo Qinglin lowered his head, staring at the floor in deep thought for a mont, then laughed again. "I was so arrogant back then. I’d never experienced a setback in my life until Lin Banxia called off the engagent. It devastated . For a while, I hated her so much I wanted to kill her."
"Try it, and see what happens!" Yan Ting’s eyes flashed with icy sharpness as soon as he heard such horrifying words, his tone laced with warning.
"I don’t think that way anymore!" Huo Qinglin laughed mockingly at himself. "I even think I’m pathetic. That woman humiliated and ridiculed , yet here I am, falling for her. She’s so different from any other woman I’ve t. All those won who throw themselves at —I’m sick of them. But her? She’s always so cold and indifferent, and now I can’t stop trying to get her attention."
"That just proves you’re pathetic," Yan Ting spat without a shred of rcy.
"And you? Are you so much better than ?" Huo Qinglin shot back without missing a beat, his lips curling into a cruel smile. "You divorced her but still keep her in your heart as your number one. If Grandfather finds out, tell , how heartbroken would he be?"
"You plan to rat out to Grandfather? What proof do you have?" Yan Ting retorted with a sneer.
Huo Qinglin suddenly pulled out his phone and opened up a set of photos.
"I wonder if these photos might count as proof," Huo Qinglin said, flashing a sly smile.
Yan Ting abruptly snatched the phone from him. What he saw were images of him and Lin Banxia—one where he was holding her hand tightly outside the won’s restroom, and another where his shadow lood over hers as he pressed her against a wall.
These photos had clearly been taken earlier in the lobby on the first floor.
"You..." Yan Ting’s gaze turned murderous as he glared at him. "You had soone follow ?"
"Big Brother, aside from being brothers, we’re also rivals—in love and at work. Underestimating would be a grave mistake," Huo Qinglin said with a carefree laugh.
"Do you think Grandfather would care about these photos?" Yan Ting’s tone grew darker.
"Maybe he won’t punish you, but if these photos lead to Lin Banxia being accused of seducing the heir of the Huo Family, do you think Grandfather will let her off so easily? When the ti cos, I could even step in and beg for rcy on her behalf. She might end up grateful to , maybe even fall for again," Huo Qinglin smirked like a fox.
Yan Ting smashed the phone in his hand onto the ground with a force that shattered it into two pieces. Without hesitation, he grabbed Huo Qinglin by the collar and hauled him up. "You dare threaten ?"
"For Lin Banxia, I’m already a madman," Huo Qinglin said, utterly unafraid, his gaze locked with Yan Ting’s. "Hand her over to , and I’ll still respect you as my older brother..."
"Dream on!" Yan Ting ground his teeth furiously. "She’ll never, ever belong to you in this lifeti!"
