Old Sir Huo saw his grandson’s volatile emotions and furrowed his brows deeply. "Yan Ting, be honest with Grandpa. Why are you unwilling to get engaged to Chu Tingting? Do you think she’s not good enough for you? Or is it because she isn’t beautiful enough, not the type you like?"
"I don’t like her!" Huo Yanting said straightforwardly in front of his grandfather. "I don’t like her as a person, and I don’t like her way of dealing with things."
"Then why don’t you try appreciating her beauty? This girl, I’ve seen her before. Her appearance is absolutely outstanding. As long as you sincerely..."
"Grandpa, matters of love depend on fate, not on soone’s beauty or a match of social status that allows you to fall for her within a short period of ti," Huo Yanting imdiately refuted.
"But I don’t care how you think. Since soone has exposed this matter, even if it’s just for appearances, you must develop sothing with Chu Tingting. Otherwise, the damage won’t just be to both families’ reputations but also to the relationship with the Chu Family." Old Sir Huo sternly instructed.
"Grandpa, if you’re going to force like this, then all the more reason I won’t let go of the person who stirred up this trouble. Once I investigate and find them, I’ll make them pay!" After speaking, Huo Yanting pushed the door open and walked out.
It was the first ti Old Sir Huo had seen his grandson so violent, as if he truly intended to kill soone at any mont.
He sighed and shook his head. This grandson of his was becoming increasingly beyond his control.
Huo Yanting stord back into his office, his handso face darkened and filled with rage.
Suddenly, his gaze fell on the phone on the table, and his expression montarily froze.
She must have seen the news by now, right? It had already been over two hours since this morning, yet she hadn’t called him to ask about it even once.
A pang of disappointnt struck his heart!
Huo Yanting realized that what troubled him even more than the scandal was the fact that Lin Banxia hadn’t called to demand an explanation.
Had she not seen the news?
Or had she seen it, but wasn’t angry enough to want to hear what he had to say?
Huo Yanting grew increasingly aware of that woman’s temperant. She seed to view everything with a detached calmness, including feelings.
If he hadn’t been persistently passionate, if he hadn’t actively pursued her and tried to keep her by his side, she probably would have been content to spend her whole life in her pear garden, wouldn’t she?
Why was she so different from other won? What had she been through? Or perhaps, the passing of her family elders in the pear garden brought her unparalleled pain.
The mory of the bright and clear little girl from years ago... her rosy little face was filled with smiles and happiness.
A sudden pang gripped his heart. Huo Yanting wished he could return to the past, to take a good look again at that radiant little girl who was as warm as spring.
And not at this girl who had been weathered by the trials of life, now calm and elegant like water.
He wanted to see the passionate and fiery side of her life.
Hmm, it seed he needed to properly stir that side of her awake.
Huo Yanting got up, grabbed the suit jacket and draped it over his strong arm, opened the door, and walked out.
"Young Master, the eting is about to start. Are you planning to..." Qi Han was just about to notify him about the eting when he suddenly saw him looking ready to leave and quickly asked.
"You handle this eting. I have sothing to attend to," Huo Yanting said casually.
"Young Master, you’re not going to find Miss Lin, are you?" Qi Han lowered his voice and asked with concern.
Huo Yanting’s eyes darkened. He didn’t respond, his silence as good as confirmation.
