"I don’t even know when I started having these feelings for you, but I understand—it’s love. It’s not familial affection, nor is it dependent on the fact that you’re my uncle. Despise if you will, because it’s absurd, but I’ve fallen for you, Uncle. So, I have to sever ties with you; I need to step out of your life. And... after I move out, I’ve decided I won’t call you Uncle anymore. I’ll call you by your na—I’ll call you Gu Qianxi. I won’t think of you as my uncle anymore. I want to see you as a man—a man I can desire, admire, and crave." Tong Keke had rehearsed these words in her heart countless tis, practised them again and again. Finally, she said them to Gu Qianxi. She was so brave, and yet so terrified.
"Tong Keke, have you lost your mind?" Gu Qianxi finally found his voice, tinged with shock, panic, and disbelief.
"I haven’t lost my mind. I’ve never been more calm than I am right now. Let’s end this adoptive relationship. I don’t want to keep calling you my uncle anymore. In my heart, you’ve already ceased being in that role." Tong Keke sighed softly and made her request in a low voice.
"Are you... serious?" Gu Qianxi’s Adam’s apple bobbed a few tis as a strange emotion surged in his chest. He tried to suppress it, but his tone suddenly turned angry and heavy.
Tong Keke nodded her small head and replied earnestly, "Yes, I am serious. I’ve spent a long, long ti making this decision. Back then, I was indeed young, unable to pull away from you and lacking the courage to leave. But now, I’m an adult, and it’s ti for to leave you."
"What if I don’t let you go?" The mont Gu Qianxi heard her say ’leave,’ his heart felt as though it had been cut by a blade. He deliberately ignored the pain.
"Why wouldn’t you let go? Could it be... you want to be in love with ? In this household..." Tong Keke tilted her head, her lips curling slightly upward in a faintly happy smile.
Gu Qianxi felt like he was going mad, tornted to the point where his head ached because of this little troublemaker.
"Keke, we’re not in love. I’m your uncle, and we’re like family. Let’s just get along properly." Gu Qianxi tried his best to calm his emotions, attempting to convince her.
"No!" Tong Keke said resolutely, then shouted, "I said no! I don’t want to be your family anymore. Either we’re strangers or we’re lovers—those are the only two options."
Gu Qianxi froze.
"You have no idea what I’ve been through during this ti. I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, all I do every day is think incessantly. I feel like my head is going to explode. There was a while when I truly thought I was seriously ill—so deadly illness. But then I realized, I was depressed. Uncle, we can’t keep going like this anymore. I can’t bear to watch you bring one woman after another in front of , treating them tenderly, doing all kinds of things for them—and then introducing as your niece. I can’t take it anymore. Even if I can’t have your love, I want to live like a normal person again." Tong Keke’s emotions suddenly collapsed, erupting uncontrollably. She was truly suffering terribly.
Gu Qianxi froze in place once more!
"Keke, we can’t do this..." Gu Qianxi’s tall, strong figure seed to lose its strength, making him unsteady as he leaned back against the wall. He lowered his head, deep in thought.
