Lin Banxia angrily punched him again: "You’re still laughing?"
Yan Ting patted her little face: "Co on, go back to your room."
"Why?" When Lin Banxia heard the word "room," a shiver ran through her body, and her mind suddenly tensed.
"Why do you think?" Yan Ting’s voice was already raspy to the extre.
Lin Banxia froze for a mont. Could it really be as she imagined? Was he finally asking her to repay him?
"It’s not convenient today!" Lin Banxia lowered her head shyly.
"Why isn’t it convenient? Or is it that you’re still unwilling to give what I want?" Yan Ting hadn’t quite grasped the aning of her words yet.
Lin Banxia replied in frustration: "It really isn’t convenient. My ti has co."
"What ti?" Yan Ting, as an undeniably noble man, was clearly not well-versed in won’s physiological matters.
Lin Banxia suddenly felt a bit embarrassed. She had already hinted this far; why was this man still pressing for answers?
"nstruation!" Lin Banxia stopped beating around the bush and said it outright.
Yan Ting’s handso features stiffened slightly, and his well-shaped brows furrowed together. Afterward, he looked a bit annoyed: "What terrible timing!"
"Maybe it’s just fate keeping us apart!" Lin Banxia followed up with a dejected remark.
Yan Ting bent his fingers and gave her a sharp flick on the head: "Don’t say things like that in the future."
Lin Banxia, inexplicably reprimanded, looked displeased, her small face full of annoyance: "Yan Ting, can’t you be a little gentler?"
"You want to be gentler? I’m afraid I might not be able to et your expectations!" Yan Ting imdiately twisted the aning of her words.
Lin Banxia: "..."
No way to communicate with this man anymore.
The two of them leaned silently against the pillars of the corridor, the conversation abruptly halted.
Lin Banxia felt a suffocating ache in her chest, a faint pain gnawing at her.
In the next mont, her petite body was suddenly pulled over by his large hands, and she found herself pressed against his chest.
"Let hold you for a while." His deep, slightly fatigued voice sounded softly beside her ear.
Yan Ting had taken a flight back to the country in the afternoon around six, had dinner with his grandparents at seven, handled urgent business matters at nine, and then drove to find her at ten. From last night until now, he had slept for less than three hours.
Yet, even though he was exhausted, the mont he saw her, his energy surged again. Only after hearing that she wasn’t "available," did that fatigue sweep back over him with full force. At this mont, he didn’t want anything else—he just wanted to hold her and never let go.
The surroundings were completely silent, the man’s embrace solid and warm, giving an overwhelming sense of security.
Lin Banxia sank into the steady rhythm of his heartbeat, truly wishing that she could let her entire life pass by like this mont.
"Yan Ting, can we find another way? I regret signing that agreent. I want to be greedier—I want both the pear garden and you." Nestled in his embrace, Lin Banxia half-closed her eyes, her voice light yet tinged with deep affection.
Her words stirred the beat of his heart. Yan Ting tightened his arms around her by another degree, as if he wanted to fuse her into his flesh and blood, never to separate again.
"Let think of another way. There has to be a way; don’t worry." In truth, the one who’d always been worried was him.
Lin Banxia shook her small head, her long hair gently falling against his back, sending a faint tingling sensation.
"It’s all my fault. I wasn’t thoughtful enough, I was too slow to realize. Back then, I already knew I had feelings for you, but I kept lying to myself, telling myself it wasn’t love. Everything I’ve suffered today—I deserve it."
Yan Ting’s thin lips gently landed a kiss on her forehead, his deep voice falling like a whisper: "Don’t overthink it. You didn’t do anything wrong. When you agreed to be with , your intention was to protect the pear garden. You were simply making the right choice. The mistake lies in the fact that—unfortunately—our fate was to fall in love."
