Yan Ting looked at his friend, his brow tightly furrowed. "What are you laughing at? Don’t tell you’ve never been troubled by won?"

"I don’t have won. I’ve always lived like a monk, my days are peaceful and carefree," Gu Qianxi said with an air of smugness.

Yan Ting looked at his self-satisfied deanor and let out a mocking laugh. "Tong Keke doesn’t count as a woman to you, huh?"

The smile froze on Gu Qianxi’s face. He abruptly grabbed a pillow nearby and hurled it at Yan Ting, shouting, "Yan Ting, are you asking for death?"

Yan Ting shrugged his shoulders disdainfully. "Gu Qianxi, stop pretending. We’re both n. Other people might not see through you, but do you think I wouldn’t understand?"

"Don’t ntion this to !" Gu Qianxi suddenly reacted as if his tail had been stepped on, his mood turning sour in an instant.

Yan Ting could only nod. "Alright, I won’t bring it up. Let’s have a few drinks instead."

Gu Qianxi turned his head, his eyes fixed on him. "By the way, I haven’t asked you yet—when are you getting married to Lin Banxia? You even kept it from . That’s not very brotherly of you, considering I’ve been worried about your relationship problems all this ti."

"Are you worried about , or are you just trying to gossip about our affairs?" Yan Ting retorted sarcastically.

Gu Qianxi couldn’t help but laugh. "Everyone’s curious about sothing. I stay out of other people’s business, but you’re my brother—plus, I know the kind of person you are. If you suddenly have a woman in your life, it must an you’re serious."

"What good is being serious? She’s still hell-bent on divorcing !" Yan Ting imdiately looked struck by defeat, his deep, dark eyes filled with loss.

"What? Did I hear that right? You an... Lin Banxia initiated the divorce? But doesn’t the internet say you got tired of her and kicked her to the curb?" Gu Qianxi couldn’t believe it. The ever-charming Yan Ting was actually dumped by a woman.

Yan Ting let out a self-deprecating laugh. "You don’t believe it either, huh? When I first heard she wanted a divorce, I didn’t believe it either. But it’s the truth."

"And then what? You really got divorced? How much of your wealth did she take with her? Even if she only took one percent, she’d still have enough to live worry-free for a lifeti, wouldn’t she?" Gu Qianxi had always wondered how much wealth Yan Ting had accumulated, but no matter how he calculated, he could never figure it out—the Huo Family was just too rich.

"She didn’t take a single penny. She didn’t even bring up the topic of assets." Yan Ting sighed deeply.

"What? Is Lin Banxia out of her mind? She didn’t take your money and still agreed to divorce you? Well... she really is unique." Gu Qianxi still couldn’t wrap his head around it.

Yan Ting nodded. "Indeed, she’s unique. At least for , she’s different from other won. She lives truthfully, and she lives freely."

"Looks like you still can’t let her go. Then go after her," Gu Qianxi encouraged him.

"I will. I won’t let her slip away so easily," Yan Ting said confidently.

He’d already gone looking for her and confessed his feelings.

Yet her reaction seed far too indifferent, which had him grappling with anxiety all over again.

"Are you afraid so other man will steal her away?" Gu Qianxi suddenly thought of himself, turned his head, and fixed his gaze on Yan Ting.

"Afraid. Terrified, even. I don’t know why I’ve beco so insecure. In the past, I never cared about anyone or anything. But ever since I t her, I suddenly understand what fear really feels like." Yan Ting answered him seriously.

Gu Qianxi froze in place for a mont.

"So do you think... she could actually be taken by another man?" Gu Qianxi instantly turned into a love-struck fool, unable to find answers to his questions and needing soone beside him to provide them.
