She quietly exhaled a breath of relief and swiftly returned to the corridor outside the chairman’s office.

That was a real scare just now.

Forgive her, she truly didn’t an to send Huo Yanting away intentionally; she just felt that this was the only chance to save the pear garden.

She couldn’t afford to miss it, nor could she let Huo Yanting... ruin it.

Call her selfish if you must, she didn’t mind enduring the pangs of a guilty conscience. She simply wanted to atone for the mistakes she made in her previous life.

She could no longer bear to see her grandparents’ lifelong efforts ultimately turn into a pile of old dirt.

After waiting for more than ten minutes, the door to the chairman’s office opened, and Old Sir Huo’s assistant invited her to enter.

Lin Banxia walked in sowhat anxiously. Old Sir Huo was seated on the sofa and handed her a draft agreent contract that had been printed: "Miss Lin, this is my show of sincerity. If you don’t have any andnts to make, just sign it, and the contract will take effect imdiately."

Lin Banxia took the contract and carefully read through every single word. The contract was exceptionally thorough and ticulous. It seed perfectly airtight, giving her complete confidence.

At the bottom of the contract were the company’s seal and Old Sir Huo’s handwritten signature, and he had even affixed his fingerprint to it. Clearly, Old Sir Huo was very earnest about signing this agreent with her.

"Chairman, I’ve gone through the contract and I don’t have any objections. I’ll sign it now," Lin Banxia said as she picked up the pen. For just a brief mont, she hesitated before steeling herself and signing her na and pressing her fingerprint onto the docunt.

Old Sir Huo watched as she signed, then spoke solemnly: "I’ve provided the assurance you asked for. Next, you should fulfill the promise you made to , as agreed."

Lin Banxia carefully folded both copies of the contract and slipped them into her pocket. Then she looked up at Old Sir Huo and respectfully implored: "Chairman, you are soone I deeply respect. I will absolutely keep my word, but I’d like to ask for one more favor from you. I’m afraid that on my own, it will be very difficult to complete the divorce with your grandson in a short ti."

"Miss Lin, isn’t this a little overboard? The chairman has already agreed to leave the pear garden untouched, and now you still dare to negotiate terms with him?" The assistant imdiately objected to Lin Banxia’s request.

Lin Banxia let out a light sigh: "I’m not trying to push my luck. I’m rely hoping the chairman can lend a hand to make this matter resolve more smoothly."

Old Sir Huo gave Lin Banxia a sharp, discerning look, then spoke with poise: "What kind of help do you need from ?"

"I hope you can tell your grandson about my willingness to quickly sign the agreent and divorce. Perhaps once he realizes what kind of woman I am, he won’t even need to beg him — he might be eager to divorce himself," Lin Banxia said with a self-deprecating smile.

"You’re young, but your scheming runs deep. Very well, I’ll summon him to the office now. But if he still refuses to divorce, then what will you do?" Old Sir Huo asked sternly.

Lin Banxia froze. If Huo Yanting still wouldn’t kick her to the curb, she honestly wasn’t sure what to do next.

"I have a backup plan!" Lin Banxia answered calmly.

"Alright, just make sure you do as you say! You may leave now," Old Sir Huo lifted his hand dismissively.

Lin Banxia stood up, bowed deeply to express her gratitude, and then opened the door to leave.

On her way back to the office, Lin Banxia suddenly felt an inexplicable agitation in her heart, as though sothing was lodged in her chest, leaving her uncomfortable and out of sorts.
