Gu Qianxi carried Tong Keke horizontally in his arms and only then realized that this little thing had grown even thinner recently. Holding her felt weightless, and his heart inevitably ached.

Ever since she was sent to this boarding school, she had beco skinnier and skinnier. On the surface, Gu Chaoxi acted like he didn’t care about her, but every day he instructed soone to check her living and eating conditions.

This was a prestigious school, and the principal used to be friends with his father, so there was no way she’d be mistreated in terms of food and accommodation.

If it wasn’t due to external circumstances, then the problem must lie with this little thing herself.

Gu Qianxi strode quickly, lowering his gaze to carefully study her pale little face, and couldn’t help but sigh.

He genuinely didn’t know how to take better care of her. Materially, he’d always given her the best of everything. If this wasn’t enough to ensure her well-being, then he really didn’t know what else he could do.

Gu Qianxi walked briskly, holding Tong Keke, heading straight toward the parking lot.

Just as he arrived, he encountered soone.

It was the principal’s daughter, Lu Ling. Lu Ling and Gu Qianxi had known each other since they were kids. Now, seeing Gu Qianxi, her eyes lit up with a flicker of surprise.

"Gu, what’s wrong with Keke?" Because of Gu Qianxi, Lu Ling had always been fairly concerned about Tong Keke.

At this mont, she imdiately stepped forward to help.

"Keke is sick. I’m taking her to the hospital."

"Gu, did you co here driving alone? Handling Keke like this might not be ideal. Let co with you."

Gu Qianxi hadn’t wanted to trouble anybody, but given the current situation, he could only accept with gratitude, "I’ll have to trouble you, then."

"What’s with the politeness?" Lu Ling hurriedly took a seat in the back and carefully adjusted the unconscious Tong Keke in her arms, her bright eyes inadvertently fixating on Gu Qianxi’s broad back.

Gu Qianxi started the car swiftly, driving toward the city in haste.

The man’s shoulders were impressively broad, radiating an innate sense of security.

From Lu Ling’s perspective, she could see the short and thick strands of his hair, and occasionally, half of his strikingly handso profile when he turned his head slightly, which made her heart skip a beat.

Lu Ling ca from a family steeped in academia, embodying a refined and elegant temperant. Now, she also worked at the school teaching English.

"Gu, we haven’t seen each other for so long. Have you been busy lately?" Ever since Gu’s parents passed away in a plane crash, their families had drifted apart. They used to gather frequently, but now it was rare to et unless there was a special occasion, a fact that always left Lu Ling feeling a little lancholic.

"Very busy. There’s been a lot going on." Gu Qianxi’s first impression was one of refined elegance and noble grace. Because of his profession, he also emanated a steady and reliable aura, complented by his strikingly good looks and tall stature, which naturally drew the attention of won at the hospital.

"Really? I’ve always wanted to find an opportunity to have a al with you, but I didn’t want to disturb you..." Lu Ling’s tone carried a hint of self-doubt; in her eyes, Gu Qianxi had always been an outstanding man since childhood.

"Next ti there’s an opportunity, I’ll treat you!" Gu Qianxi smiled faintly, his resonant voice imbued with an irresistible charm.

Lu Ling nodded. "Then it’s settled. You must treat to a al."

"For sure!" Gu Qianxi responded, as the car rolled into the hospital parking lot.

Just as he parked, he noticed a sleek row of black sedans pulling in nearby, his eyebrows faintly lifting.

He opened the car door and stepped out, while from the other black sedan, Huo Yanting’s tall figure erged, stepping through the night.
