Tong Keke was adopted from an orphanage by her parents. It was said that she had been sick for a long ti, and the head of the orphanage was extrely worried and distressed. The Gu parents, who managed a hospital and were old classmates and friends of the head, took pity on her and decided to adopt Tong Keke.
Although Tong Keke called him "Uncle" every ti, Gu Qianxi was only seven years older than her.
Thinking of how pitiful she looked when she was sick, Gu Qianxi stepped harder on the gas pedal.
At the entrance of the school, Gu Qianxi hurriedly ran toward Tong Keke’s dormitory.
At the door, Tong Keke’s horoom teacher and several dical staff stood helplessly outside the dormitory.
"Mr. Gu, thank goodness you’re here. Please go in and check on Keke. This child is so stubborn; no matter what we say, she refuses to take dicine or get a shot," the teacher exclaid upon seeing Gu Qianxi, as if she had found a lifeline.
Gu Qianxi nodded gratefully at them, his tall and slender figure stepping into the dormitory.
In this prestigious school, every boarding student had their own private dormitory, and each room was decorated according to personal preferences.
Tong Keke’s room was also arranged with Gu Qianxi’s help. It looked just like a little princess’s room, entirely filled with dreamy colors.
Tong Keke lay on the princess bed, her small face flushed red—a clear sign that she was running a fever.
"Keke..." Gu Qianxi quickly walked over, softly calling her na.
The feverish and disoriented Tong Keke heard the familiar voice. As she blinked her big eyes and saw the handso face in front of her, she instantly threw herself forward, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. Her flushed little face burrowed into his chest. "Uncle, you finally ca to see ! I’m so happy!"
Gu Qianxi looked at the girl in his arms, who clung to him like an octopus. His eyebrows furrowed slightly, and adopting a tone of authority, he lightly chastised her, "Don’t be so stubborn. When you’re sick, you need to cooperate with the doctors for treatnt. Otherwise, things will only get worse."
"No... I just want my uncle to take care of . You always took care of when I was little..." Tong Keke pouted her soft pink lips, acting spoiled and petulant like a child.
Gu Qianxi, seeing her pitiful and stubborn little face, couldn’t help but let out a soft sigh. He truly had spoiled this little girl too much.
She’d grown increasingly willful and delicate.
"Keke, stop causing trouble. Uncle has a lot of work to do at the hospital and can’t spend all day taking care of you," Gu Qianxi said firmly, intentionally adopting a harsher tone, worried that his excessive pampering might make her even more dependent and infatuated.
Tong Keke, already feeling dizzy and nauseous from her illness, wilted under his reprimands. Her crystal-clear eyes instantly glimred with tears, and her pretty little lips curled downward, wearing an expression that scread she was monts away from crying.
Gu Qianxi had originally intended to sternly scold her, but sohow, seeing her aggrieved and pitiful deanor, his heart—which was already soft—completely lted. He simply couldn’t bring himself to be harsh anymore.
"Take the fever dicine first, and then co with to the hospital for a shot," Gu Qianxi finally said, giving in to her stubbornness. He knew better than to argue with her now—her bullheadedness was stronger than a mule’s, and antagonizing her further would only make her dismiss the seriousness of her illness.
"Okay!" Tong Keke, who just seconds ago looked ready to cry, instantly brightened up upon hearing that he would take her away. Her mood flipped from gloomy to cheerful in the blink of an eye.
Gu Qianxi couldn’t help but chuckle helplessly.
Tong Keke obediently took the fever dicine, then climbed out of bed. She was wearing a pale pink spaghetti-strap nightdress.
Her long, jet-black hair cascaded down to her waist, with the ends slightly curled. Against her fair, jade-like skin, she resembled a beautiful porcelain doll.
