Lin Banxia suddenly raised her head, staring at him in shock. "I didn’t think about wearing soone’s gift or anything like that. I just feel like, we both understand the nature of our relationship now, and it’s not like we’re going to be husband and wife for long anyway."
"So, in three years, you absolutely plan to divorce ?" Yan Ting’s expression darkened further, his tone laced with suppressed anger.
Lin Banxia trembled inwardly, alard. She hadn’t ant to provoke him; she simply didn’t want the ring he was offering. How did it turn into this?
"Fine then, thank you. If you insist on giving one, I’ll wear it. I won’t take it off." Lin Banxia quickly followed his words, deftly smoothing over the situation.
Nevertheless, the man could see through her pretense, his handso face remaining gloomy.
Lin Banxia was on edge, not even daring to breathe too loudly. In her heart, she resolved to let him give whatever he wanted in the future, as long as it made him happy.
She would absolutely never refuse his goodwill again—not to his face anyway. Sigh, he really was impossible to please.
But the thought of living like this, compromising and suppressing herself for three long years, made Lin Banxia feel like she was embarking on a bumpy journey.
"Mr. Huo, what a coincidence! You’re dining here as well." Suddenly, a soft and gentle voice rang out.
Yan Ting turned his head to look and saw a beautiful and elegant woman approaching gracefully.
Lin Banxia froze for a mont upon seeing the striking noblewoman.
Such an elegant lady, but she seed vaguely familiar. Why did her face look so recognizable?
Beside her, Yan Ting’s expression remained composed as he politely greeted, "Ah, it’s Mrs. Cheng. You’re dining here too?"
"Yes. And this young lady is...?" Mrs. Cheng turned her head, her eyes curious as they landed on the beautiful young girl sitting beside Yan Ting.
"She’s my girlfriend!" Yan Ting replied with incredible ease.
"Oh!" Mrs. Cheng imdiately grasped the situation, offering a polite smile before walking away without saying much more.
Lin Banxia stared after the graceful and noble woman, unable to suppress her curiosity. "Who is she? And why did you tell her I’m your girlfriend? You promised we’d keep our marriage hidden."
"A girlfriend is a girlfriend. A wife is a wife. They’re two completely different concepts. Understand?" Yan Ting said coolly.
"But to , they’re the sa thing." Lin Banxia frowned.
"Marriage is a woman’s most stable al ticket, whereas a girlfriend can be replaced at any mont." Yan Ting explained again, his tone matter-of-fact.
Lin Banxia was stunned, lowering her head, silently continuing her al.
"She’s Chu Tingting’s aunt. I said that about you simply to make it clear to Chu Tingting’s relatives that I have a girlfriend now, and calling off the engagent with the Chu Family is inevitable." After a brief silence, Yan Ting finally offered an explanation.
"Oh, so that’s what it’s about!" Lin Banxia said, surprised. She hadn’t expected that the stunning noblewoman was Chu Tingting’s aunt.
"She has such an elegant deanor. Her family must be quite wealthy, right?" Lin Banxia joked casually.
"Yes, her family is indeed wealthy. But she’s actually quite a pitiful woman—her daughter was stolen shortly after birth." Yan Ting hadn’t intended to gossip, but since this little woman asked, it seed odd not to answer.
"No way, that’s truly tragic. Did she ever have another child afterward?" Lin Banxia’s curiosity was piqued and she couldn’t help asking further.
"Yes, she had another daughter." Yan Ting replied straightforwardly.
