He stared with wide eyes, but that woman still didn’t react at all.
The man was finally sure, this woman wasn’t looking at him at all.
A frosty chill brushed over his handso face, forcing him to stand up. With his long legs, he took just a few strides to reach her glass window.
He tapped twice on the glass with his distinctly jointed fingers.
"Ah..." The first thing Lin Banxia did upon waking up was instinctively wipe her cheek, as if she had just dreamt of a male god drooling on her.
Huo Yanting was even more displeased when he saw her action, and after shooting her a warning glance, he resolutely stepped out of the office door.
Lin Banxia sat uneasily in her office chair, thinking that she had just been so lost in thoughts of her past life that she forgot herself.
The warning gaze from Huo Yanting had clearly ant to tell her not to daydream during work hours.
She montarily panicked, having been caught by him looking blank and out of focus—utterly embarrassing.
A tall figure assertively stood in front of her desk, making Lin Banxia’s heart race with fright.
"Bo... Boss..."
"Hmm?" The man dangerously propped his large hands on her small desk, and because of his towering height, he only needed to lean down slightly to reach her lips.
"Husb... husband..." Lin Banxia called out in a voice so small it could barely be heard.
Huo Yanting was montarily satisfied, but his sharp gaze remained fixed on her, questioning, "Who were you lost in thought about just now?"
Lin Banxia, in a fluster, lowered her head. Should she tell the truth? Would this man even believe her?
"I was thinking of you!" Lin Banxia’s voice remained small and ek.
Under the man’s intense gaze, she felt incredibly guilty, but she had indeed been thinking about him—just a past version of him.
"Look into my eyes and say it again." Huo Yanting suddenly demanded sternly.
Lin Banxia had no choice but to open her eyes wide. Her eyes, black and crystal clear, didn’t seem to be lying.
"I really was thinking about you. I didn’t expect you to be so busy with work all day long, which is not quite what I imagined you to be." Lin Banxia laughed self-deprecatingly.
Huo Yanting had long honed the ability to discern truth from lies, and at this mont, her words seed to genuinely convince him.
"What is the version of in your imagination like?" Unaccountably curious about the aning of her other words.
Lin Banxia bit her lower lip and truthfully said, "I thought you might spend only a few hours dealing with work affairs in a day, and most of the ti..."
"And most of the ti?" Huo Yanting heard her hesitation, his cold eyes slightly narrowing as he leaned his tall body closer as if he would kiss her at any mont.
Lin Banxia gritted her teeth and said, "Most of the ti you spend eating, drinking, and having fun. Isn’t that how you people from wealthy families live? At least, that’s what I thought."
Upon hearing her last word, not giving her a chance to catch her breath, Huo Yanting’s large hand reached out to capture her snowy chin.
With a forceful tilt, his thin lips tyrannically sealed her babbling mouth.
Warm and sweet, just as he rembered, Huo Yanting couldn’t resist deepening the kiss.
Her small tongue desperately tried to escape, but couldn’t evade the man’s relentless pursuit.
Lin Banxia was utterly stunned, her body stiff as a board.
Huo Yanting closed his eyes slightly, savoring her reaction, and only released the woman who was like a frightened little rabbit in front of him when he felt satisfied.
