"Are you human or demon?"

This was the first thing Ran Qingchen said when she t Qu Hongling.

Ran Qingchen didn’t possess Li Nanshuang’s inherent sensitivity to detect Demon Energy, so she couldn’t discern any demon traces from Qu Hongling, who had a unique demon nature.

This made her sowhat hesitant, uncertain of the other’s identity.

Although a woman’s intuition told her that the other party was most likely related to the Demon Clan.

"Such a beautiful woman."

Looking at the stunningly beautiful woman, whose beauty was not diminished by her aloofness, even Qu Hongling, who was herself a great beauty, couldn’t help but admire.

However, what impressed her even more was the other’s cultivation.

Not long ago she had t a very young, very capable, and similarly beautiful sword-carrying girl. Now, she saw another woman about her age, whose cultivation was by no ans inferior to hers.

It was as if masters were everywhere on the streets.

No wonder Mr. Shen said that the Capital of Dazhou was teeming with hidden dragons and crouching tigers.

In the Demon Clan, aside from herself, there was no second demon of a similar age with such a level of cultivation.

Qu Hongling’s slender wrist swiftly spun fine needles, which dragged out fireflies that seed to solidify into thin bracelets. Feeling the enormous oppressive force emanating from Ran Qingchen, she raised an eyebrow, "What if I am a demon? What if I am not?"

"If you are not a demon, step aside and don’t interfere with my investigation!"

Ran Qingchen raised her sword, her tone icy, "If you are a demon, I will slay you along with the rest."

Hearing the word "investigation," a flicker of surprise crossed Qu Hongling’s face, "Are you from the Liushan Division?"

The young girl couldn’t help but be astonished.

The Capital’s Liushan Division sure has too many young masters.

"Demon, or human?"

Ran Qingchen asked again, her patience running thin.

Qu Hongling smiled faintly, "Don’t you already have the answer in your heart?"

Slash!

Ran Qingchen wasted no more words, silently chanting, and a three-inch burst of sword light flared up.

In the Daoist temple, the already fractured statue exploded under the unleashed vast Sword Qi, scattering bits of stone, carving deep ravines.

Qu Hongling’s sleeves fluttered like blooming flowers, her wrist flicking rapidly, as a silver thread-like sword shot out.

Sword Control!

Watching the attack of the needle-like sword, Ran Qingchen’s expression was solemn.

Since ancient tis, countless have been the Sword Cultivators, among which "Sword Control" is the hardest to master; most could only simply fly with the sword.

Very few could really confront others using Sword Control in battle.

Not to ntion cultivating a Life-bound Sword.

Sword Control requires not only powerful ntal strength and soul but also enough understanding with the sword to achieve a heart-to-sword bond.

Being able to use Sword Control in combat was enough to indicate the profoundness of the opponent’s Sword Dao.

As she contemplated, the long sword in Ran Qingchen’s hand flashed brightly for an instant, clashing with the silver thread-like sword.

Sword Qi spread like a wildfire, shredding the tattered banners on either side to pieces.

Ran Qingchen shifted her sword tip, moving like a green snake through branches, spiraling with the montum of the sword, her figure swaying like a secluded orchid in a valley.

The distance between them was closed by ten steps again.

Ran Qingchen’s aim was simple: get close to engage in close-quarters combat, using her own adept swordsmanship.

Qu Hongling countered with Sword Control again.

The silver sword, now several tis larger, zigzagged cunningly like antelope horns, circling past the half-arc sword circle drawn by Ran Qingchen, flying through a tiny gap in the sword screen with an extrely bizarre trajectory.

In the blink of an eye, the fine sword was already at Ran Qingchen’s throat.

Ran Qingchen didn’t show the slightest panic, slightly tilting her beautiful neckline.

The fine sword grazed along her neck hairs.

The sharp Sword Qi left a faint, shallow blood line on the skin which was faintly veined with light blue.

"Mountain Strike!"

Ran Qingchen flicked her sword, knocking away the fine sword, and quickly closed another five steps.

Now, only five steps separated the two.Qu Hongling frowned slightly, pinching a Sword technique with her right hand.

The fine sword, shaken three ters away, suddenly split into several thinner long swords, sweeping towards Ran Qingchen like a sudden storm, a large swath of dazzling silver brightness falling overhead, leaving no gaps.

Every one of the dashing fine swords moved unpredictably as if alive.

So bent like earthworms, so were unbendingly sharp and unstoppable, so were elusive like clouds, so soared high above, like dragons or divine birds, giving off the staggering montum of dark clouds over the city.

Xier, crouched behind a stone statue and visibly turning pale, watched the immortals fight.

Originally, she had planned to deliberately shout out Qu Hongling’s identity, provoking an attack with the sword, but now it seed utterly unnecessary.

She could only hope they would both lose, enabling her to escape.

Ran Qingchen was entangled by streaks of sword light, seemingly trapped.

But in the next instant, with a clash like sudden rain, countless sparks erupted. The woman’s slender and beautiful silhouette darted out from the exploding sword glow.

Her blue dress was slashed with several small cuts, faintly revealing her clear, snowy white skin.

Only one step remained between the two of them!

Ran Qingchen swung her sword to rise.

As the Sword Qi spewed forth, the sound of the sword was especially clear.

A chill light instantly gathered around the room.

"Chop!"

Ran Qingchen whispered sharply, her ice-cold, bright eyes flickering like thousands of stars.

At this point, Qu Hongling intended to counter with her flying sword, but it was clearly too late.

However, just as the sword’s edge was about to land, Qu Hongling waved her sleeve like a white crane soaring into the air. Her whole body seed to be pulled back by a wire, appearing more like a puppet zombie.

Originally, it seed Qu Hongling would escape her opponent’s attack range, but suddenly, the young girl’s form stiffened, forcefully halting mid-air.

Then the young girl turned back, her pale white hand grasping the opponent’s sword blade.

Bang!

The tender, boneless palm instantly burst forth with the force of a thousand catties.

This unforeseen change even caught Ran Qingchen by surprise, but after all, the woman had soaked in swordsmanship for years and keenly sensed the surging demonic power transmitted through the sword blade. She decisively abandoned her sword and thrust her palm toward her opponent’s chest.

Both won initially intended to repel the other, but after shifting positions by mistake, their palms inevitably landed on each other’s chests.

It wasn’t clear who struck ruthlessly first, but the sound of tearing fabric rang out, and both were flung backwards, each holding a piece of torn cloth upon landing.

One cloth was red, the other white.

Feeling the pain in her chest, Ran Qingchen looked down.

She saw that her own front dress was ripped open, revealing a large piece of jade white skin, clearly marked by scratches.

Qu Hongling’s chest also bore traces of blood.

Compared to Qu Hongling, Ran Qingchen’s torn clothing was sowhat more extensive.

Qu Hongling grimaced in pain, glaring furiously at her opponent, "You’re supposed to be a master of the Sword Dao. Was it really necessary to resort to such despicable techniques?"

"It was you who used despicable ans first!"

Ran Qingchen tried to cover the exposed skin with her clothes, the pain of the fabric rubbing against the wound making her also extrely uncomfortable.

That tender and delicate area, in fact, hurt a lot.

"It was you who started it!"

"It was you first!"

"..."

The two transitioned from battling with swords to a verbal skirmish.

Both glared furiously at each other, seething with killing intent.

"Let’s go!"

Just as the two won were about to continue fighting with their swords, suddenly a hurried voice ca from outside the temple.

It was Shen Shengyuan’s voice.

Qu Hongling bit her silver teeth, unwillingly glaring fiercely at Ran Qingchen, "I will rember this!"

Qu Hongling withdrew her flying sword and took advantage of the mont to tear off a piece of Xi’er the rabbit demon’s clothing and wrapped it around herself, then darted towards the temple gate.

"You think you can just leave?"

Ran Qingchen swung her sword and charged.

As the two intersected, Qu Hongling suddenly maneuvered around like a slippery eel, flashing to the doorway. She scoffed coldly, "Big sister should watch herself first. Don’t let soone see your body and divorce you."

Upon hearing this, Ran Qingchen who was about to chase her, abruptly halted her steps.

Her expression darkened, but she soon retorted with a sneer, "It seems little sister just realized how small she is."

Qu Hongling retorted, "Of course. Seeing how old big sister looks, you must be older, so what else should I call you?"

Ran Qingchen slowly said with a smirk, "I ant, little sister is really small."

Having already darted out of the temple, Qu Hongling then realized the implication, and instinctively looked down, her pretty face flushed red.

What does it matter if they are big? They are just a burden!

The injuries I suffered are even more severe!

Listening as her opponent departed, the smile on Ran Qingchen’s face vanished abruptly, her face turning ashen.

She glanced at the rabbit demon.

A tiny bead of blood seeped from the center of its brow, lifeless.

The woman then looked down at the scratch on her own chest and muttered in annoyance, "Couldn’t it be smaller? What a burden!"
