Ark’s body began to radiate an intense golden glow, his aura growing more intense with every passing second.

From his skull, a pair of white horns curved upward, gleaming under the moonlight. His entire body was encased in what seed to be a blend of white and golden scales, each scale interlocking with the others, giving the appearance of a well-crafted suit of armor that lded perfectly with his body.

Suddenly, a golden tail covered in scales erged from his lower back, swaying as his scales glinted in the moonlight. Discover more content at Freewebnovel

He clenched his fists, feeling his mana coursing through his veins.

"Because soon..."

"I’ll be very busy."

Chrono Nexus’ gaze lingered on him for a mont, her expression a touch of curiosity and awe.

"Are you planning to save the elves, then?"

Ark shook his head as he spoke, his voice sounding deeper as his words seed to vibrate the air around him.

"No. My only objective is to acquire the vessel and prevent the advance of the Rulers. Anything more than that, and the future could be affected beyond repair."

Chrono Nexus gave a small smile, acknowledging his words.

"Understandable."

Chrono Nexus’s gaze softened as she placed a hand on Ark’s shoulder. "Take care. I believe you can carry out the mission your father has sent you on, but the opponents you plan to face are not going to be weak ones..."

"So if I see you struggling, I won’t hesitate to step in."

Ark smirked, brushing her hand off gently. "Don’t worry about , Mother. I’m not that weak. You may not have noticed, but I was holding back during our last fight."

She raised an eyebrow, her lips curving into a sly smile. "I could already tell."

At that mont, a voice echoed in Ark’s mind.

[Master Ark, they have arrived.]

It was Genesis alerting him to the incoming threat.

Ark’s expression changed, his gaze becoming intense as he looked beyond the treeline where the cracks in reality could be seen spreading.

He could feel the powerful auras approaching; their cosmic mana seed so dense and intense. Although the people gathered couldn’t notice it, he, as the child of two origin gods, certainly could.

He glanced at Chrono Nexus. "Looks like it’s ti to get to work."

anwhile…

On a treetop not so far away from Ark and Chrono Nexus, the group of demon siblings stood silently atop, concealed among the thick canopy of branches as they watched the distant scene unfold.

Below them, the elven city glistened, its center dominated by the grand coronation ceremony underway. High in the sky, cracks had begun to ripple across the heavens, fragnts of reality breaking as so great force strained against its bounds.

Alzureth’s gaze was intense, his face lit by the flickering lights of the ceremony below. His jaw clenched with the bottled-up fury he’d been holding back since Salden had revealed his sudden change in plans—not just a sudden change, but a practical 180 from what it was before. He turned to his brother, voice low and barely holding onto his sanity as he bottled up his anger.

"Salden…" he growled, each word sounding like a warning.

"Explain to why you think capturing a god is a reasonable adjustnt to our plan. This mission was supposed to be an invasion, not so grand spectacle for the heavens."

Salden gave his older brother a sidelong glance, amusent sparking in his eyes as he leaned casually against a tree branch.

"Oh, co now, Alzureth. Can’t you see? We are still going to carry out the invasion; we only need to do this first, then we can invade. Capturing that god could bring us sothing far more valuable than world conquest would. Sothing that might very well beco... instruntal."

Alzureth’s fists tightened as he struggled to hold back a retort. "Instruntal?" he repeated, barely concealing the edge in his voice.

"You speak in riddles, brother. If this gamble goes awry, it could bring ruin to us all."

Vorpax leaned forward, his bruised face still showing faint traces of the recent skirmish, a grimace replacing his usual cocky grin.

"I’m with Alzureth on this, Salden. Are we really ready to face down a god? We barely made it out of that last encounter, and you want to up the stakes?"

"Weren’t you the one who said beings like him could swat us like flies?"

Salden shrugged, brushing off his siblings’ doubts with a calm, indifferent expression. "Sotis, dear brother, risks are necessary for reward. And besides, I think the prospect of capturing that god might be more achievable than you imagine. There’s... an advantage I’ve foreseen."

He left his words hanging, vague as ever, but enough to stoke the tension.

Elrith interjected gently, her gaze shifting between them. "Perhaps we can find a balance," she suggested.

"Salden has his ways, and as much as they might be... unorthodox, he NEVER miscalculates."

From the shadows, Saquin chuckled, her smirk flashing beneath the hood that frad her silver hair. "Sounds like our dear Salden wants to play god-chaser…"

"Though I can’t deny—if he pulls it off, it could change things in a way none of us could anticipate."

What was Salden’s plan? His goal? Well, he planned to capture Ark… alive. The reason he gave the others when he introduced this idea of capturing this unknown god was:

"The way things are now, by the ti we accomplish world conquest, all that would be left is a world in ruin, with no life in it for us to rule over, no mortals to worship our nas, no future generations to speak of our greatness."

"No…"

"All that will be left will be us and a few others who have chosen to beco our enemies."

"A mass extinction event."

"And this won’t even be our fault; no, it will be caused by forces far beyond us, far beyond our mothers, far beyond our father."

"Things none of us will have any power over."

"So, if you wish to prevent anything from robbing us of our birthright, I suggest you all obey my next orders without question."
