The heavy oak doors of the council chamber creaked shut, a reminder of the tense exchange of ideas. Relief washed over Evan as he and Mina finally made their way and erged outside the castle, the stifling air of political posturing replaced by the cool night breeze. Mina followed close behind, her expression grim.

Outside, bathed in the silvery moonlight, stood the imposing figure of Holy Knight Captain Utopia. Her gleaming armor glead faintly, and the holy aura that emanated from her was a comforting presence. Evan strode towards her, his boots crunching on the gravel path.

"Captain Utopia," he greeted, his voice laced with a hint of weariness. "Thank you for waiting."

Utopia straightened, her expression unreadable. "Heroes," she acknowledged with a curt nod. "One of the Soldiers inford of the council's decision. A united front, at least for now."

Evan sighed. "A fragile truce, at best. Duke Radcliffe still pushes for his offensive maneuvers."

Mina chid in, her voice sharp. "His ambition is a danger we can't ignore. We need a plan that not only bolsters the defenses but also offers a long-term solution."

Utopia's gaze seed to pierce through them. "And what do the heroes propose?"

Evan exchanged a look with Mina before responding. "We believe the key lies in the east," he began. "Mina has been coordinating with the mages' guild. They're working on a powerful barrier spell that can hold back the demonic tide, offering us so breathing room."

Utopia's expression softened slightly. "A barrier spell, you say? That could be a ga-changer, if it holds."

"It's a gamble, Captain," Mina admitted. "But with the demons' relentless assault, we're running out of options. The barrier will buy us ti to solidify our defenses and hopefully find their captain and take them as a hostage to make them turn back."

Utopia pondered for a mont, the moonlight catching the glint of her helt visor. "Although it sounds plausible demons tend to be illogical creatures, I strongly doubt they will be willing to back down all because their commander has been taken down." She let out a sigh, feeling the weight of the upcoming battles already resting on her shoulders.

Utopia looked back at the heroes as she then said, "Well that on one hand, have you two heard? The word going around is that a dragon appeared back in the holy empire and even participated in the tournant."

Evan and Mina tilted their head to the left as they both wore a look of utter confusion on their faces, as they muttered, "Dragon?

Tournant?" They were confused as to what Utopia ant because the dragon they pictured in their heads was a twenty foot tall flying lizard with scales and fire breath, now saying such a creature participated in a tournant held by humans was bizzare and sowhat unreal.

Utopia noticed the puzzled look on their faces and realized they must not fully understand the scope of what she said, she explained further, "Dragons are the founders of magic and are intelligent just as they are powerful, I've heard legends that they could destroy an entire nation with a single spell if they wished to, they can Also take on human form, and that was the case of the one that participated in the tournant."

Evan let out a sigh as he said, "Oh, is that what you an, you should be more clear with what you say captain, you are well known for your honesty and transparency, so for you to say such a thing without explaining first had lost and puzzled."

Mina sighed as she chid, "Sa here."

Utopia apologized then continued. "I'll try to be more clear next ti, well now back to what I wanted to say. A mage inford that the King would be attempting negotiations. He desires the dragon's assistance in the coming battles."

Evan gestured Inquisitively as he said, "If they could send it here then it could be a ga changer, I'm sure it could help significantly reduce our burdens and increase our chances of winning this war."

Utopia then frowned. "Dragons are creatures of imnse power, but also unpredictable. Sending it here could end up causing more harm than good."

"We understand the risk, Captain," Mina said. "But we can't ignore the potential advantage it offers. If the dragon sides with us, this war is sure to end much easier."

"Well until it actually becos a possibility of getting help from it we should not slack off, we must prepare for all possibilities," Utopia declared, her voice ringing. "Evan, I want you to focus on strengthening the western defenses. Lady Quindel's forces have borne the brunt of the attack, and their morale is likely low. You will lead by example and inspire them to hold the line."

Evan straightened, his hand instinctively going to the hilt of his legendary sword. "Consider it done, Captain. We'll hold the west, no matter the cost."

Utopia nodded, then turned to Mina. "And you, Mina. Your task is two-fold. Oversee the construction of the barrier in the east and assist in bolstering magical defenses across the entire kingdom. With the demons pushing this hard, we can expect magical attacks to intensify." Explore more at My Virtual Library Empire

Mina's shoulders tensed. "I understand. Rest assured, Captain, I will not let us down. However, I also believe we should explore the other solution. We need to find the captain of this demonic uprising, find a way to put an end to them, it would surely disrupt their coordination and make things easier for us."

Utopia's gaze held a flicker of surprise. "Still an ambitious proposition, but not unwelco. If we can locate their captain, a well-executed strike could cripple their forces. However, gathering intel will be a dangerous task."

"I understand the danger, Captain," Mina stated, her voice steady. "But desperate tis call for desperate asures. I'm willing to take the risk, with my skill as a mage, getting through their forces by flight and invisibility would be child's play."

A smile, fleeting yet genuine, touched Utopia's lips. "The courage of the heroes extends beyond the battlefield, it seems. Very well. Report back to once you have formulated a plan. We will discuss logistics and personnel at that ti."

With a final nod, Utopia turned and swept towards the castle, her cape billowing behind her. Evan and Mina watched her go, the weight of their responsibility settling heavily on their shoulders. They had their marching orders, but the path ahead was fraught with challenges.

Tomorrow, they would face the enemy head-on. But tonight, they would gather their strength, strategize, and plan their next move.
