Chapter 632: Alpha’s Status
When ordinary Awakeners progressed, their fundamental strength simply increased.
If they wished to obtain any more abilities and significantly enhance their bat prowess, they would have to practice techniques.
Only when they came in contact with the Laws would they obtain some bat methods, though these remained crude and required further refinement.
Alpha, however, was different.
She was not an ordinary Awakener. If anything, she had just bee one.
Similarly, she was neither a Devil nor a puppet.
Her nature was fundamentally different. Perhaps she was the only one of her kind in the entire Origin Sea.
As such, her advancement was destined to be different too.
“The Mechanical Law seems to have resonated with my nature.”, Alpha said before gently shaking her head.
“In fact, calling it a Mechanical Law is incorrect. This Law does not merely enpass the concept of mechanics.”
“Puppetry, technology, everything is contained within it.”, Alpha explained.
As though she wanted Liora to fully understand these vague words, she stretched her hand.
Traces of Cosmic Energy and demonic energy erupted from her body, settling onto her palm.
As the two energies fused under her control, something was being born.
It was a tiny wooden puppet.
Barely the size of a human palm, it looked like a toy an ordinary child would play with.
Yet when Liora examined it closer, she discovered this was an illusion. The puppet’s aura was quite powerful.
Greater Devil. This was the strength this tiny “toy” could unleash.
However, Alpha was obviously not trying to show off Greater Devil strength in front of Liora.
She knew that her Lord was far from lacking the assistance of a mere Greater Devil.
What she wanted was to show something else.
Her mind stirred.
The small puppet immediately began to change. From being made out of ordinary wood, its structure was altered.
Soon, the wood making up its body had vanished. In its place were thick metal plates.
Where a wooden head had once been, now stood a flickering screen.
Countless numbers and symbols flashed across the blue screen, as though the Mechanical being was analyzing the structure of the universe itself.
Then, it changed once more, transforming into a stream of intangible information.
It didn’t stop there.
Weapons. Spaceships. Fortresses.
The original wooden puppet took hundreds of forms.
It wasn’t that it was being replaced every time. Rather, its very structure was being altered to acmodate a new concept.
When Alpha showcased her abilities, Liora understood what she was trying to convey.
She was not trying to demonstrate a single one of these things. Rather, she was showing off the large variety of them.
The Mechanical Law truly enpassed many concepts.
Just by absorbing it, Alpha’s mastery of puppetry had deepened, while she suddenly became an expert in technology and other fields too.
Seeing Liora nod in satisfaction, Alpha dispersed the energy in her hands.
She smiled faintly.
“However, these are not my only gains.”
“Absorbing this Law has granted me a certain… status.”
“My previous ability, of being able to devour Mechanical beings, has seemingly upgraded. Now, I have certain control over other Mechanical beings.”
“Even beings stronger than me may be affected. It is similar to the suppression my Lord possesses over her bloodline descendants.”
As she spoke, Alpha felt somewhat unfortable. She wanted to showcase that new status, but she had no way to do so.
Liora seemed to have guessed her thoughts.
Smiling faintly, she waved her hand.
Immediately, several beings appeared beside her.
Their appearances and auras were different.
Some were Kings, others were Venerables, and even an Emperor could be seen standing among them.
Yet despite their external differences, they all belonged to the same race.
They were all Mechanical Beings.
“These are some creatures I managed to capture over the past few days. I originally kept them to conduct research, or let you devour them once you woke up.”
“Now, it seems that they can prove of use.”, Liora explained.
Alpha’s eyes lit up.
Without waiting for further instructions, she immediately urged her new status.
In the eyes of an ordinary person, nothing about her changed. She just stood still.
But from Liora’s point of view, a powerful force suddenly emerged from Alpha’s unassuming body and rapidly spread to her surroundings.
As a result, the gathered Mechanical beings suffered greatly.
A trace of struggle appeared on their faces, as they used whatever methods they had to fight against it. It was as though their wills were being replaced.
Unfortunately, their struggles proved meaningless.
Starting from the weakest among them, the Mechanical beings began to change.
As though their personalities had been rewritten, their struggle ceased. Their expressions slowly returned to normal.
At least, besides the endless respect flashing in their eyes as they turned to Alpha and bowed solemnly.
The transformation of the Kings was instant. The Venerables took a few moments.
As for the lone Emperor, it required several seconds for the process to be pleted.
Clearly, the stronger the opponent, the higher resistance they had toward Alpha’s status.
Despite this, Liora was pleasantly surprised.
This ability… was too powerful.
Against Mechanical beings of the same level, Alpha would possess an overwhelming advantage.
In fact, Liora felt that Alpha was somewhat underestimating her own status.
In her view, even Rank 11 creatures would lose control of their power when faced with her.
Although they wouldn’t regard Alpha as their empress like the Kings, they would still have to consciously suppress her influence.
It was no wonder that Alpha had previously been so excited.
Still, Liora felt there was another important question.
“Do you retain the ability to devour Mechanical beings to grow stronger?”
Hearing this question, Alpha smiled.
She looked at one of her King subordinates and gave a mand.
Instantly, its body exploded, turning into fragments of pure metal.
These flowed toward Alpha, merging into her body and enhancing her strength at a speed visible to the naked eye.
But things were not over just yet.
With another move of her mind, Alpha’s strength diminished.
In turn, a being appeared beside her.
It was exactly the creature she had just devoured. The similarity was not just in appearance.
Whether it was its personality or aura, they were exactly the same. It was as if it had been reborn!
“Not only have I retained that ability, but I can now also do this…”
