Chapter 624: Arrival

Time quickly passed.

Although the extraterrestrial battlefield was vast, it was nothing when pared to the Cosmic Universe as a whole.

With Liora’s strength and the lack of anything that could threaten her, she was able to stroll through it without issue.

Slowly but surely, she drew closer to the true ancient city.

During this time, the events of her rescuing the human team gradually spread.

With the Information World’s existence, intelligence in the Human Federation could be transmitted extremely quickly.

By now, the federation’s higher-ups had already learned of Liora’s sudden change in strength.

Some of them chose to reach out to her, asking her what had caused such a large change.

Liora had deliberately showcased her strength. As such, she had already thought of a plausible excuse…

“I happened to encounter one of the rumored city fragments.”

“Thankfully, I was lucky. No other person has discovered it. Without any opposition, I was able to obtain the central inheritance.”, Liora shook her head, while her voice traveled through the Information World to someone far away.

Silence settled for a while.

A few moments later, a solemn voice echoed directly in her mind, sent from the other “direction”.

“Entering a city fragment and advancing to Rank 10 is surely something to celebrate. However, you should be careful. No one knows if such a rapid advancement will e with a price in the future.”, the War God said.

“You shouldn’t be impatient.”

“You have to pay closer attention to developing your talent and prehending the corresponding Law. Only then will you be able to unleash the full extent of your own power and progress further.”

After giving her some well-natured advice and urging her to focus on familiarizing herself with her current power, the War God looked prepared to sever their munication line.

But before he did so, he didn’t forget to add a few sentences:

“You should have learned of the ancient city’s events. Many powerful beings have gathered already over there. If you have a chance, you should also try to participate.”

“Who knows? The benefits may very well surpass those of the many city fragments.”

The War God’s voice started fading away, soon disappearing into nothingness.

But as Liora made her way through the extraterrestrial battlefield, his voice constantly replayed in her mind.

“Sure enough, the Human Federation already knows about the city fragments.”

Based on how the War God had not questioned Liora further, Liora judged that he must know of the City Lords’ inheritance and thus did not find it surprising.

Similarly, his reminder at the end proved that he might also know certain things regarding the ancient city.

“Will the War God also e in person? No, perhaps not only him, but also the other Rank 10 Awakeners in charge of the Human Federation.”

“It seems that this trip will be quite eventful…”, Liora muttered as her pace subconsciously quickened.

The signs of approaching the ancient city were relatively obvious.

The farther she traveled, the stronger the powerhouses she encountered became.

Groups similar to the human team she had rescued were now everywhere. Venerables were no longer rare. They had bee monplace.

At first, Liora was also targeted by some of these teams, allowing her to harvest a wave of Evolution Points and materials for the Cosmic Sea.

Unfortunately, her legend gradually spread to the other races too.

“No! It’s the Empress of Ruin! Run!”, a loud shout rang out, and the team of demons froze in place before spinning around and fleeing for their lives.

In an instant, the giant group posed of hundreds of Kings and Venerables had split up, each person choosing a direction and betting on their luck.

Unfortunately for them, a stream of light emerged before they could go far.

It shot through the space, following closely behind their figures.

Hundreds of explosions echoed.

Shortly afterward, the Kings and Venerables had vanished, while the Immortal Token returned to Liora’s hand, as did their essence.

Despite this, Liora showed little satisfaction.

If anything, she appeared somewhat disappointed.

“Have these guys also gotten wind of the news? With the news spreading, hunting down enemy teams will bee more and more difficult in the future.”

As for the title “Empress of Ruin”? Liora ignored it.

This title had long reached her ears. According to the War God, it was because every battlefield she entered would result in ruins.

Once or twice, this was nothing. But as the times increased and more clues regarding her power were left behind, such a title naturally befell on her.

Liora shook her head.

She didn’t care about an empty title or reputation.

After dealing with the aftermath of the hunt, she slowly raised her head.

Every trace of disappointment in her eyes disappeared.

A faint smile emerged on her lips.

At last, she had finally arrived at her destination.

A towering structure could be seen in the distance, spanning the equivalent of several galaxies. Even from this far, it was impossible to see its edges.

The structure resembled both a floating continent and an entire world.

Although its actual appearance could not be seen as a sheen of white encased it from every direction, its magnificence was obvious.

Whether it was the War Academy or the Blood Forest Realm, they were both thousands of times larger than ordinary planets.

In particular, the latter itself was an entire world, with its own ecosystem.

Yet pared to this structure, they were both nothing.

It was truly the largest thing Liora had seen since her arrival in the Cosmic Universe.

If she had to pare it with something…

“Only the Demon Layers of the Demon World can be pared with it.”, she sighed.

“Could it be that the ancient cultivators forcefully fused the equivalent of the Cosmic Universe to build this city?”

She couldn’t think of any other explanation.

Who could possibly live in such a city if not for an entire civilization?

Although Liora was deep in thought, her movements didn’t stop. If anything, they became even faster, her figure firing toward the ancient city.

The closer she got, the more aware she became of the city’s enormous size.

Similarly, the more obvious the white sheen surrounding it became.

Just as Liora entered a certain range and was about to examine it, however, something suddenly changed.

From her left, an overwhelming aura soared into the sky.

Then, it struck directly at her.
