Chapter 85: Descent [1] - Contact
Millions, if not billions, of voices rang inside Liora’s head as the white lights revolved around her, sometimes getting closer and other times moving away as if they were being intimate.
Although Liora had never activated the World-Descending Array before, the knowledge she had obtained from the mysterious blood and the information contained in her inherited memories allowed her to make sense of what was happening.
Each of the lights before her represented an individual in another world—an individual that had somehow established a connection with the Demon World.
The several voices in her mind belonged exactly to those individuals, with most of them requesting that she do something for them.
Liora knew that as long as she agreed to help them achieve their wishes, she would be able to use them as a springboard to descend into their world.
However, although danger was imminent and her life might be in danger at any moment, she didn’t rush to make a decision.
Though she wished to escape her current predicament, she couldn’t descend into just any world.
After all, some worlds were basically a death sentence to mere Lesser Devils like her.
With that in mind, Liora observed the white lights surrounding her.
The lights varied, both in size and brilliance.
The brilliance represented the strength of the individual that was calling for her, while the size represented the strength and status of that world in the Heavens.
According to these two characteristics, the requests coming from each light also differed.
The weakest lights wished for things like help with their love life, while the strongest ones requested that she help deal with Angels, Gods, and Otherworld Invasions.
In an instant, Liora dismissed the latter.
With her current combat power, dealing with such apex creatures was impossible. Let alone killing them, if she were to meet such beings, they would be able to obliterate her with a glance.
Besides that, Liora also quietly dismissed the weaker lights, knowing that such weak worlds would not be of much help to her.
Thus, Liora was left with far fewer choices.
Just when she was closely inspecting those choices and prepared to make a decision, she felt the earth beneath her shake violently.
Reluctantly taking her eyes off the white lights, Liora instinctively raised her head, only to discover that the cave’s reinforced walls had crumbled at some point, revealing the crimson sky of the Demon World.
On the surface, a towering creature stood above a large hole and leaned inside, its mere existence causing tremors to the space around it.
"Found you!
