Chapter 407: An Alternate Life

Liora felt that she had just woken up from a deep slumber after several centuries.

As she opened her eyes and looked around her, she found herself in an unfamiliar yet familiar place.

It was said to be familiar because she had spent many years here and this place had always been a subtle influence on her.

However, it was also unfamiliar because that was a very long time ago.

Before she went to the Demon Weapon World and before she stepped into the world of Knights.

In fact, it was before she herself was even born on the banks of the River of Oblivion.

That’s right!

When Liora surveyed her surroundings, she didn’t find herself in the familiar Demon World or in the Origin Sea, but in a small university classroom.

The laughter of her classmates and the cold voice of the teacher standing on the podium constantly rang in her ears.

The more she listened, the more real the world around her became. At the same time, her memories of nearly a century began to disappear.

Before she could realize this was happening, much less resist, the memories of her life as a Devil faded away.

All she could remember was being a human.

Although the instincts of the missing memories remained engraved on her mind, Liora had fully forgotten her true identity.

She had turned into an ordinary mortal.

She couldn’t recall how she rose from her seat.

After the university’s bell rang, signaling the end of her classes, she hurriedly packed her things and left amidst the cheerful voices of the other students.

As she returned home and settled down on the half-broken couch, she couldn’t help but feel as if she had forgotten something.

Yet, no matter how much she tried to recall the missing memories, she found that she couldn’t.

Besides the fragile, imaginary layer separating her from the world around her, there was nothing amiss.

"Is it because I drank heavily yesterday and overslept?
