Chapter 365: Leaving

After taking stock of her harvest and counting her gains, Liora left the Blood Devil Sect and arrived at a familiar location, the Grandmaster Summit.

Compared to a few decades ago, when she turned this place into a slaughterhouse, this place had barely changed.

No Warriors could be seen in the entire mountain, despite the fact that this was the place where many powerful Warriors had once died.

This was not because the Warriors did not know the truth, nor because they didn’t want to come here.

Instead, it was because the number one person in the world, the Founder of the Blood Devil Sect, had forbidden everyone from coming to this place.

As Liora descended onto the mountain, the reason became clear.

A crystal clear coffin surrounded by Devil Runes was floating at the very peak, with a beautiful woman silently lying inside.

The woman had long brown hair and amber eyes. Although she was sleeping, she emanated a cold aura, as if she were not a person but a frozen iceberg.

As Liora leaned closer and brushed her fingers against her cheek, she saw that this coldness was not only in her aura.

The woman’s body was completely cold, devoid of any signs of life, looking like a corpse that was ready to decompose.

If it were not for the powerful aura that it exuded, enough to stun even True Devils, everyone would have thought that the woman was long dead.

Of course, this was not true. This woman was obviously none other than Alpha.

Although decades had passed since Liora found her mechanical core, this subordinate of hers had yet to truly recover.

Over the past decades, Liora had slain many demons and Divine Race members and helped Alpha devour their essence.

Unfortunately, even though this had allowed Alpha to rebuild her body, she had still not woken up.

"Judging from the current progress, it should take a few decades before she can recover."

Unfortunately, Liora could not wait for that long.

She had already harvested every benefit that this world could provide to a being of her level.

If she were to remain here any longer, her strength was bound to stop improving.

For other Greater Devils, not making any progress for a few decades was perfectly normal.

But for Liora, who had reached her current state in less than half a century, wasting so much time was impossible.

Originally, she was preparing to take Alpha with her and hoped that she would awaken in the Demon World.

But thankfully, after the Snake of Time was successfully forged, there was no longer a need for this.

Retracting the hand brushing Alpha’s cheek, Liora’s mind moved, and the serpent in her hand transformed into a small river.

As the ouroboros-shaped river landed before her, she scooped a handful of translucent "water" and let it fall onto Alpha.

Though the time her hand was in contact with it was very brief, her palm withstood a great deal of damage.

Her fingers bent backwards while her bones twisted in impossible ways, as if she were not holding water but a mountain.

No! Considering Liora’s current strength, holding mountains was easy for her.

Rather than say that, it would be more accurate to compare the "water" to an entire world.

Liora disregarded her injuries and concentrated on Alpha.

As the water fell on her, Alpha did not crumble under its immense pressure.

The dangerous droplets seemed to have turned into something harmless.

They were quickly integrated into her body, and Alpha started to transform.

Time seemed to blur around her, passing many times faster with her as the center.

Although only a few minutes had passed in the outside world, it seemed as if Alpha had gone through thousands of years.

Her cold body began to regain its heat. Her slumbering will gradually became stronger.

At the same time, various other signs of vitality started to appear.

Watching from the side, Liora had a solemn expression.

This was the first time she used the Snake of Time. Although she had a rough idea regarding its abilities, she still felt that she had to be careful.

After all, Alpha’s life was on the line.

Time quickly went by.

For Liora, less than half an hour had passed, but for Alpha, centuries, or even thousands of years had quickly gone by.

Still, she didn’t wake up.

Just when Liora thought that the experiment had failed, Alpha’s eyelids fluttered. A moment later, her eyes opened wide and looked in her direction.

Glancing at the confused and clueless amber eyes facing her, the stern expression on Liora’s face vanished. Without saying a word, she breathed a sigh of relief as her lips curved upwards.

--

From that day on, the Founder of the Blood Devil Sect disappeared from the world.

According to various clues and the cryptic words she left behind, many people believed she had broken through a new realm and thus ascended to the upper world.

Her ascension brought great shock to every Warrior in the Demon Weapon World.

However, it didn’t result in many changes.

The Blood Devil Sect continued to be the most powerful force, enjoying a transcendent status.

Similarly, the many Grandmasters continued their research on Warrior techniques, hoping to reach that person’s realm and follow in her footsteps.

Among the many Warriors, there was perhaps only one person who didn’t care about the Founder’s disappearance.

That was the Demon God’s reincarnation. Or as she was called in this lifetime, Mira.

--

"Master, just who is your enemy?"

"So many years have passed, but I still haven’t found any clues!"

"I’ve already become a Grandmaster! I’ve even broken through the realm beyond that!"

"Yet I still haven’t found them! Just who is he?"

Kneeling in front of a tall stone grave, Mira’s facial features had changed significantly compared to the past.

From a young teenage girl, she had transformed into a mature, heroic woman who would leave most men stunned by her beauty.

From her powerful aura, it was clear that she was not boasting.

Mira had indeed surpassed the Grandmaster realm, becoming the strongest person in the Demon Weapon World.

Yet Mira was not satisfied.

She could still vividly remember that day many years ago.

Her Master, who had watched her grow up and had taught her everything she knew, could no longer hold on.

Succumbing to the injuries she had suffered in the past, she took her last breath and died in her arms.

Mira had been left stunned.

She had spent weeks crying in anguish, cursing her Master’s enemy and vowing to take revenge.

Yet, although decades had passed, she still had no clues about them.

All she had was a picture of a red-haired man, a painting she had been sticking on her training dummies over the past few decades.

"If it weren’t for that guy, Master would not have died!"

"With my Master’s talent, she should have been able to become a Grandmaster!"

"Don’t let me find you! Otherwise, I swear that I will tear your body into pieces!"

"I will let your soul burn for eternity and listen to your painful screams!
