Chapter 356: Severing the Connection & Gift
Liora didn’t have the time to examine the object.
Her entire focus was on the sword slash that the Demon God had made, which was obviously targeting the two giant eyes in the sky.
The blow looked plain and simple, like an ordinary sword strike made by a mortal. It didn’t look threatening. If anything, it looked uneven and clumsy.
However, as Liora’s eyes traced its outline, she was stunned.
She could be certain that if this sword were to fall on her, she would instantly die.
Even her indestructible body and soul would be rendered invalid, much less a skill like Blood Rebirth.
If that sword were to land on her, both her past, her future, and even the present would be completely wiped out.
Since that was the case for Liora, the danger that the two eyes in the sky faced was not any weaker.
In fact, being the target of the sword attack, they were even more threatened.
A trace of human-like fear flashed within their pupils and, in a split second, the two enemies decided to cooperate.
The two eyes blinked, and their power fell down, crushing the space along the way and folding it to create a layer of defense before them.
As if they felt that this was not enough, two translucent figures materialized on either side.
One was a woman with pale, paper-like skin and hissing snakes instead of hair, while the other was a demon-like figure carrying a colossal halberd.
The personifications of the two Wills of the higher-level worlds did not need to communicate.
Banding against the common enemy, they swiftly attacked.
White mist poured out of the woman and bound around the Demon God’s sword like chains, while the halberd struck down, as if it was about to divide the world into two.
The two attacks went far beyond the Greater Devil stage.
However, their efforts ultimately proved meaningless.
As the two came into contact with the sword’s edge, the latter blurred and passed right through them.
The next moment, their figures exploded. Like glass withstanding an impact far beyond its limit, they cracked and burst apart.
Something similar occurred to the layer of space, too.
The moment the sword appeared near it, time seemed to revert, and the space returned to its previous appearance.
It was quickly smoothed out, as if it had been controlled by the two worlds.
The two eyes in the sky were stunned.
They instantly understood that they were facing an opponent far beyond their current capabilities.
After all, these two were not the real Wills of the World but a mere part of their overall power. Their true forms might not have been scared of the Demon God. But the power they carried was hardly enough to match him.
Immediately, the size of the two eyes grew smaller as they wished to use the gap in the world’s film to escape this place.
However, it was already too late. The sword suddenly arrived in front of them.
It grew bigger in size, large enough to cover the entire sky, before striking at the two eyes.
Liora was expecting a fierce confrontation between the two. At the very least, she believed that the two eyes would be able to resist for a while.
But to her surprise, this was simply not true. The moment the sword touched them, the two eyes turned illusory.
Then, like bubbles that had exhausted their lifespan, they burst apart and vanished.
One moment, two giant eyes were etched across the sky, oppressing everyone in this world like two omnipotent Gods, but the next second, the two eyes had vanished.
Only a lone sword remained in the sky, which flickered violently as if about to disappear.
Just when the Demon Sovereigns recovered and believed that everything was over, a figure appeared beside the sword.
It was the Demon God.
Just like the sword, his figure was also translucent and flickering, like a candle that was about to go out.
However, he didn’t show any fear or disappointment. Instead, he laughed loudly towards the sky.
"Hahaha! After thousands of years of torture, I can finally take my revenge!"
"You dare to scheme against me?"
"So what if I’m destined to die? Before my death, I will make sure that you two will suffer!
