Chapter 675: Chapter 673: The Dream Tapir
Boom!
The teor fell, shaking the snowfield.
The Dream-Eater Boar Tapir was shielded beneath the Ouroboros, its eyes the only thing it could move through the crack, watching the serpent, in its hill-like majesty, fearlessly confront the teor from above.
But the impact of the falling teor was too mighty, so much so that even turned into a dirt-yellow hill, the body of the Ouroboros began to crumble to pieces under the shock.
“No!”
“Lord Ouroboros!”
Tapir bellowed loudly, wailing in his mind, “No, you could have left, just ignore !”
Alas, Ouroboros could no longer hear: its energy-ford body could not withstand the blow of the teor for long, crumbling to fragnts, then shattering into a pile of dust.
The montum of the teor slowed down, yet it still held an imnse force.
Without the protection of Ouroboros, Tapir would still be struck dead by the teor from the sky, with no chance to avoid it.
“How could you be so foolish, blocking the teor for —What’s the point? It only ans one more death!” Tapir stared at the dissolving dirt-yellow glow and the still violently rushing teor, feeling ti stretching out unbearably.
So prolonged, it felt the teor’s shock seed unusually slow.
In this mont.
Its mind was in chaos, the scenes of Ouroboros training it flashing by like a lantern show.
After all, it was Russell’s Contracted Phantom Beast, but in truth, it had spent more ti with Ouroboros than with Russell.
Russell was too busy, and far too strong.
Strong enough not to need any power enhancent from Tapir, and so busy that there was no ti for them to bond. So, most of the ti, Ouroboros was appointed to teach and urge Tapir to train.
In Tapir’s eyes, Ouroboros was its ntor, guiding it to strive for strength.
But Tapir didn’t see it that way.
It even held so resentnt toward Russell, being just a common Phantom Beast, it couldn’t keep pace with Russell’s progression. It had no clear desire to beco so Pseudo-Dragon or Phantom Dragon, and its intent to beco stronger was never clear.
Even up to the falling of the teor, its pursuit of strength was still more perfunctory than eager.
But now, seeing Ouroboros die to protect itself.
Its heart was truly touched for the first ti, and it felt a sincere desire to beco strong: “If I were strong enough, Lord Ouroboros wouldn’t have to withstand the impact of the teor to shield !”
At the end of it all, it boiled down to being too weak.
“If I were strong enough, at this mont, I would be the one protecting Lord Ouroboros, the one to endure the strike of the teor!” It raised its head, its eyes beca unwaveringly determined, its desire to grow stronger almost solidified.
It steeled its heart, its two tusks lifted high.
Watching the dirt-yellow light gradually dissipate around it, its mind beca exceptionally pure and bright: “Co on, let
follow Lord Ouroboros!”
Boom!
The slow yet swift teor struck the Dream-Eater Boar and then exploded rapidly, the massive shock wave creating a large hole in the snowfield’s icy layer.
After a while.
A Frost Giant nad Sheng climbed out of the crater, shaking its dazed head, looking around the empty surroundings.
Letting out a proud and sinister laugh, “Eternal Frost Star, you’ve disturbed the Amber Dreamland, and none of Russell Fluorescent Fungus’ Contracted partners will escape—every one of them will be cut off! Dragon Sleep Continent, your ‘Sheng’ who will slaughter you, has co!”
Its na was Sheng, Frost Giant Sheng.
…
Deep in the snowfield, Russell was in pursuit of Frost Giants, provoked by the continuous provocations of the border-skirting Giants.
So, he was determined to kill at least two Frost Giants, to vent the fury in his heart.
Yet, abruptly, his heartbeat skipped a beat, his pupils dilated, “Uroboros, Tapir… the ntal connection is severed! Ice Cream had already arrived, supporting Uroboros, how could it still…”
His mind was in turmoil.
“Don’t let anger cloud your judgent, Russell,” the Shadowfla Dragon sensed Russell’s emotions and imdiately spoke to remind him, “Revenge is the ultimate path!”
“Exactly!”
Russell suppressed the sorrow in his heart, his gaze turning icy, “A blood debt must be paid in blood!”
Catching up to the Frost Giant, under its terrified gaze, Russell transford into a hundred-ter-tall black and crimson giant, brandishing a large black and crimson sword. In an instant, he executed the Secret Technique: Sword of Fire, the sword’s brilliance extending over dozens of kiloters.
To lure and drag Russell into its pace, it had gotten too close.
The Snow Giant, controlled by the Frost Giant, cried out as it pounced, confronting the strike of the Sword of Fire only to be pierced through the chest by the sword’s radiance, creating a gaping hole.
The Snow Giant still madly lunged at Russell.
The Frost Domain unfolded likewise.
But Russell and the Shadowfla Dragon had experienced too many battles, relying on swordsmanship, he also had full leverage over the chaotic magic power.
Thus, he still maintained exceptional agility, dodging the fierce charge of the Snow Giant.
Catching up to the Frost Giant hiding behind the Snow Giant, the Secret Technique: Sword of Fire shone brightly, chopping directly at the Frost Giant.
That strike was solid and true, cleaving the Frost Giant nearly in half from shoulder to waist. The Frost Giant’s vitality was strong, but it wasn’t enough to be fatal; however, it lost its chance to utilize escape techniques.
The Snow Giant behind him charged again.
Russell, like a killing machine, avoided the Snow Giant’s lunges while his sword light kept rising, chopping the critically wounded Frost Giant into minced at.
The Snow Giant also beca dazed and confused, even toppling over due to its overzealous charge.
“Very sensible,” Russell stated coldly, and then, raising his black and crimson sword, he brought it down hard on the head of the fallen Snow Giant.
Crack!
The Snow Giant was instantly decapitated.
“Absorb it, Shadowfla,” Russell dispersed the black and crimson giant sword in his hand, a smile once again spreading across his icy face.
Shadowfla Dragon was surprised, “Your mood, it suddenly improved?”
“Because I suddenly rembered, my companions won’t die easily. They, like , are blessed by Mother Earth,” Russell laughed heartily, “Each ti we face life and death, we return as kings!”
In his heart.
The two severed ntal connections were reestablished, even tighter and stronger than before.
That was because the Ouroboros and the Dream-Eater Boar Tapir had already survived the Life and Death Dragon Tribulation, the tribulation of emotions and material desires.
Once the Shadowfla Dragon refined the corpses of the Snow Giant and the Frost Giant into a Frost Star Bead and swallowed it, Russell couldn’t wait to return to Shadowfla Volcano and then quickly flew towards Cloud Dream Oasis, eager to witness the rise of new Phantom Dragons and Pseudo-Dragons.
…
The Dream-Eater Boar Tapir was a rare Phantom Beast.
True to its na, it could devour dreamscapes, stripping away the special energy of dreams.
Having grown so much, it had swallowed who knows how many dreamscapes; Those special energies from the dreamscapes had always been accumulating within it. It didn’t know how to use this energy, nor did it even realize it was of the dreamscape.
However, after its body was shattered into pieces by a teor.
It thought it was dead, beyond dead, but it wasn’t the end; that dreamscape energy enveloped its consciousness, thoughts, and notions. It ca back to life in another form, without a body but omnipresent.
At this mont.
It resurrected within the mind of the Frost Giant Sheng, to be precise, within his subconscious dreamscape.
In this place.
It was the greatest!
