Chapter 138: Chapter 137: The Forked Horns
“Hmm, my body doesn’t seem to have changed much, the wings are still so short, the hind legs… The hind legs seem a bit thicker, not bad, not bad, this is a good start! The head… The head also seems to have gotten bigger, doesn’t it, Ice Cream!”
“Ga?”
“Alright, I was just talking to myself, no need for you to chi in. Co on, turn your head this way, let
take a closer look… Indeed, it’s bigger, the pattern of the scales has changed, I rember very clearly, the pattern of the scales under your eyes wasn’t like this, now the pattern is elongated!”
Confirming that Little Dream Dragon’s legs had thickened, his head had grown, and his scales were also growing, Russell was overjoyed.
He used to worry whether Little Dream Dragon was just that size, given that Great Dragons are too mysterious, especially since this one was a Dream Dragon—he also couldn’t figure out whether Little Dream Dragon was a young Great Dragon or a mini Great Dragon.
Now, he could be at ease; one way or the other, Little Dream Dragon was still growing.
Suddenly.
He noticed a pair of antlers on Little Dream Dragon’s head: “Eh!”
“Ga?”
“Bow your head, bow your head, Ice Cream, let
see your antlers… This, they’ve split!” Russell laughed loudly, “Ice Cream, the antlers on your head have branched, see, at the three-quarter point upwards from the base, there is a little fork!”
If one couldn’t clearly tell whether the legs had thickened, the head had grown, or the pattern of the scales had changed.
Now, seeing Little Dream Dragon’s antlers branching, Russell could be one hundred percent certain that Little Dream Dragon was truly growing.
The old Little Dream Dragon had two curved antlers, with no branches at all.
“Gaga.” Little Dream Dragon shook his head, seemingly quite pleased with his branched antlers, his nostrils flaring skyward.
Sword Butterflies were circling nearby.
Then Russell suddenly rembered: “If Sword Butterfly is here, then where is Thorn?”
Just as he thought of Thorn, he saw Sword Butterfly land on his hand, and then, loosening its claw, it dropped a tiny Thorn seed.
The Thorn seed swiftly sprouted, turning into a shaky little thorn bush in the palm of his hand.
However, unlike in the real world, the roots of the small thorn bush didn’t pierce into Russell’s plump little hand, but simply extended their roots and thorny stems from the seed, wobbling as they stood in Russell’s hand, easily tipped over.
“It can’t pierce in?” Russell picked up the little thorny stem, lifting the Thorn Amber Worm along with it.
The little thorny stem was covered with tiny spines, but at the mont it was so soft, like fuzz, and did not prick his hand at all.
He received no response from Thorn.
Compared to Sword Butterfly, this Thorn was a complete and utter plant and simply couldn’t be described as a “worm”.
After toying with it for a while, in response to Little Dream Dragon’s impatient “ga” cries, Russell mounted upon it, instantly lighting up the surrounding Magic Light.
Sword Butterfly gently landed on Little Dream Dragon’s head, perching between the two branched antlers.
With Thorn in hand, Russell suddenly had an idea, and placed the thorn on top of Little Dream Dragon’s head, right on top of the antlers.
In an instant, a change occurred.
The original soft thorn bush suddenly coiled its roots around the base of the antlers like tentacles, firmly fixing itself to the body. The little thorny stem rapidly grew larger, winding around the antlers like a climbing vine, until they surpassed the height of the antlers.
The most magical scene was that at the top of the little thorny stem, a small pink-white blossom blood.
“Thorn can actually bloom?” Russell exclaid in surprise.
“Ga?” Little Dream Dragon curiously tried to look upwards, but managed only to roll its eyes so that they turned all white, unable to see the antlers on its own head, and naturally not the small pink-white flower at the top of the thorny stem, which frustrated it enormously, “Gaga gaga!”
Seeing this, Russell laughed and bent the little thorny stem to the side, just enough for Little Dream Dragon to see the little white flower at the top.
“Gaga!” Little Dream Dragon beca excited.
It seed to really like this pretty pink and white little flower, shaking its head and swaying from side to side as if it had started dancing.
Russell laughed, “On our way back, let’s try to pick up another Amber Worm, preferably a plant-type one, so we can plant another little flower on your right antler.”
The Little Dream Dragon nodded repeatedly, “Ga!”
“Alright, we’ve seen the little flower, now let’s set off and see if this brand new Gloomy Dreamland has gotten any bigger!”
“Ga!”
A man and a dragon, a butterfly and a flower, quickly flew out of the dimly outlined manor annex, soaring through the sky.
Russell could see inside the manor annex where the Mushroom Bird Rosy was fast asleep with the remaining six Spirit Insects.
The Red-eyed Rat King was lying in the rat house, gnawing on sothing back and forth.
Besides that were the Ice Pellet Pearls quietly lying in the drawer of his room—since the Little Dream Dragon wasn’t in a hurry to have them, he wasn’t in a hurry to feed them either.
Wobbling a bit, they took off, flying over the treetops.
Russell’s laughter echoed through the entire Gloomy Dreamland, “It’s expanded, Ice Cream, it’s expanded! And not just by a ter or two, but by several dozen ters!”
At the edge of the original Gloomy Dreamland, there was a tree that Russell had specifically picked out as a “boundary marker tree” to asure the extent of Gloomy Dreamland.
When the Little Dream Dragon had not yet consud any Ice Pellet Pearls, the trunk of the boundary marker tree was right at the boundary.
After he returned to reality, he asured it, and from his bedroom bed to the trunk of the boundary marker tree, the straight-line distance was exactly one hundred ters.
That is to say, the Gloomy Dreamland was a circular area with a radius of one hundred ters, roughly 31,416 square ters in size. Converted into acres, that’s a little over forty-seven acres, not even fifty acres.
Subsequently, the Little Dream Dragon gradually consud quite a number of Ice Pellet Pearls, completely including the boundary marker tree into the Gloomy Dreamland, extending the radius by about five ters or so.
Thus, the area of the Gloomy Dreamland expanded to about 34,636 square ters, which is roughly fifty-two acres.
The expansion increased the area by around five acres.
But now, the boundary marker tree was already within the interior of the Gloomy Dreamland, and the boundary needed to expand several dozen ters further outward.
“It expanded by about seventy-five ters… The radius is now one hundred eighty ters… 180×180×3.1416… What is that equal to again, seems like it’s 101,788 square ters… Converting into acres, one square ter is equal to 0.0015 acres…”
Russell, riding on the Little Dream Dragon’s back, racked his brains calculating.
His math was diocre, and without paper and pencil, relying solely on his brain for the computations was sowhat difficult, but in the end, he managed to figure out an approximate number.
“It’s about one hundred and fifty-two acres, just shy of one hundred and fifty-three acres… which ans, the range of the Gloomy Dreamland has expanded by a full one hundred acres! It’s now three tis the size it was before!” Russell was stunned by the number.
He had thought the Ice Soul Pearls were highly nourishing, but he never imagined they could be this nourishing.
“Ice Cream!”
“Ga?”
“I’ve decided, once we get to the Snowfield, we’ll catch Snow Demons to shear! You’ve eaten so many Ice Pellet Pearls before, and it didn’t even expand by five acres, but now, after eating two Ice Soul Pearls, do you know, it’s expanded by a hundred acres!”
The Little Dream Dragon tilted its head, not understanding what Russell was saying, “Ga?”
However, Russell’s next remark imdiately put it on alert, “In any case, Ice Cream, let’s not eat Ice Pellet Pearls anymore and just eat Ice Soul Pearls!”
“Ga!”
The Little Dream Dragon’s pupils contracted into slits, and it strongly objected, “Ga ga!”
