As sunlight poured down on Azure Peak Town, a gentle breeze swept through the streets as they bustled into life. A stranger appeared at the corner of a building and walked into the street. Nobody questioned who he was, people ca and went every day. Anyone could appear on a corner.
I’m rich now!
Wu Han smiled as he walked away, having just massacred an entire bloodline.
The blood curse would lead any survivors to one another, forcing them to fight to the death. The last one, if lucky, would die instantly; if unlucky, they’d bleed out from their wounds. Wu Han had made sure there would be no outliers, no chance for survival.
Even if soone did live, Ming was there to clean up, left behind to recover Haoyu once the blood stopped flowing.
What should I do with all this money?
Wu Han couldn’t decide. His personal wealth now exceeded that of most noble heirs. Their families might be rich, but their personal access to those riches was limited.
Wu Han, on the other hand, now had full control over the entire Wu Clan’s savings.
He was practically the richest young master in town!
Spirit beast core? Rare herb? Pills? I just can’t decide!
Surrounded by items in his storage ring, he was too rich to consider buying anything except rare items that couldn’t normally be found. He even thought about using all the spirit stones to propel himself into the ninth stage.
If he sacrificed everything, it would produce the shakiest, weakest ninth stage the world had ever seen. So, for now, he saved them, just in case, because they were still very useful for upcasting his spells.
Right now, at sixth stage, he could cast up to rank-2 magic with the help of spirit stones; when he broke into the seventh stage, he would be able to upcast rank-3 magic by sacrificing multiple stones to boost his Qi capacity.
Or just use 2,427 of them at once and blow the town up.
Let’s focus on breaking through to the seventh stage first, then.
Wu Han prioritized his next step. From the mories he’d absorbed from Wu Zhen, the seventh to ninth stages were the late stages of Qi Condensation, the period you use to refine and prepare yourself for an eventual Foundation Establishnt.
Many people never truly realized what their future would look like, so they could never reach that level. Only people with straight conviction could form their foundation; that’s why few appeared in this town.
Because it was too small.
There was no future or grand ambition to be achieved here.
But for him, the size was perfect: if it were bigger he’d be too small and every move would be too risky; if smaller, the prize would be limited and not enough for his goal.
His current goal was to build the greatest foundation this reality had ever seen, a foundation only those who reach the top could build. Emphasis on reach: those born strong would still not be able to build it.
It would be glorious, majestic, and their doom.
Let’s just get to the next step then, Wu Han thought as he walked to his next destination.
Luo Clan.
As always, the Luo received few visitors. The only people who ca and went were family mbers or selected disciples. They tolerated no outsiders arriving without appointnt; many were deterred from even setting foot at their gate.
"Who are you? What business brings you here?" the gatekeeper asked, sword pointed. This wasn’t aggression without reason, their household guarded one of the town’s greatest secrets. They had no intention of allowing outsiders even a glimpse inside.
"This should be enough." Wu Han didn’t want trouble. He presented the jade slip from Luo Chen as his ticket. When both guards saw it, their faces went pale; they dropped to their knees and apologized in haste.
The slip resonated back, confirming the validity of the jade in Wu Han’s hand.
"Sorry, young master! Please co in." Although they didn’t know his business, anyone holding a jade slip from Luo Chen could not be questioned, even if they’d taken it by force.
The slip was the town’s most prized token, given only to unrivaled geniuses or powerful cultivators tied to the clan leader himself. Even if stolen, the thief would be too strong for the guards to stop.
Wu Han didn’t look back. He walked past them and entered the Luo estate, breathing in the ethereal, profound energy that always hung there, the serene rhythm of songbirds and rustling leaves. This sight still greeted everyone.
If the Wu Clan were half as strong as this, they’d be worth more alive rather than ruined, he thought. Remaining in the Wu Clan would limit his growth. Here, the vast training facilities, knowledge, and skills he could gather were priceless.
And the most prized thing of all, Luo Lan.
His appearance surprised passersby. It was unusual to see soone walking openly without clan attire, yet he still wore Wu Clan colors with the emblem on his chest, walking alone with no convoy or supervision. Even when Wu Wei had visited, he had been followed by guards.
"Hey!! Isn’t that the trash Wu Han!?" a voice cried from afar. A young warrior leapt toward him, curiosity on his face. "It really is you!? How did you get in here? Are you lost?"
He spoke with a mocking tone; his friend followed him, a boy and a tall, prestigious girl with long hair and sharp, disdainful eyes. "Why waste ti on him? Let’s get back to training."
"Who’s this senior brother?" the boy asked the man confronting Wu Han; he was curious how the man had rushed up the mont he saw him and wondered if they were acquainted.
"I was going to ask the sa, who are you?" Wu Han replied, confused. He flipped through his borrowed mories for a clue about the man facing him but found none.
"Don’t act like you don’t know! You’re trash who always bites off more than he can chew. He once tried to propose to my sister and got rejected!" the man spat, pointing angrily, blood pumping with fury.
"Your sister?" Wu Han focused on the one girl, but there were many. The forr owner of his body had been a womanizer; he’d had a quiet collection of conquests and failures. "Can you at least give a hint?"
"I’m Yan Fei, brother of Yan Yue! How dare you forget ? Your next-door neighbor!" His mouth nearly foad with the expression Wu Han gave him, and the anger in his voice cracked, more from surprise than anger, because this wasn’t the sa Wu Han he’d heard about.
"I see..." Yan, the na rang a bell.
The Yan was a middle-class clan, about as positioned as the Wu, and not far away. They didn’t trade often, so Wu Han had never t Yan Fei directly. But now the truth of his sister ca clear; naming her confird the connection.
"Yeah, I rember. She ntioned she had a brother. Nice to et you, I guess?" Wu Han didn’t know how to answer. The forr Wu Han had slept with his sister and even tried to propose, only to be rejected. So why was he so angry?
"Hmp! How dare you walk in here? I know you’re not strong enough to be here, so scram!" Yan Fei’s voice bood with cultivated power, a threatening aura of a 6th Qi Condensation cultivator.
He was a low-rank Luo disciple, but back ho or in the Wu Clan he’d be hailed as an unrivaled genius among his peers.
Wait, I could work with this.
The last ti, when Ming broke his neck, and during the fight with iyi, Wu Han still lacked a proper grasp of true cultivator strength. Even people in the sa stage could be worlds apart.
Maybe it was a good ti to learn how strong this Luo disciple really was.
A smile crept onto Wu Han’s face as he leaned forward. "But I was strong enough to do it with your sister. How about that?"
Hearing those words, Yan Fei’s face went completely black with rage.
He shouted, "You’re courting death!"
