Yun Ling threw his hands up in the air before running them on his face. Ever since his older brother's return, Yun Zhen had cut off his workload and passed most of it to his younger brother.
"I should be bar hopping now in Beijing, not doing overti!" he grunted, earning the attention of his brother. They were both inside Yun Ling's office at Yun Group.
"What's so good about wasting your ti bar hopping? If you would stop procrastinating for once, you would realize that you would have finished faster and would have been out of here around this ti." Yun Zhen shot him a glare from where he was seated. He was still dressed in his black business suit, his legs crossed as he seated, waiting for Su Jingyi's reply.
Yun Ling wanted to cry right there and then. It was so unfair that his older brother refused to allow him to go back to Beijing and asked him to remain in Shenzhen instead. It had been over five months since his older brother returned from his vacation trip but Yun Zhen had been mum about the real score between him and Su Jingyi.
This blockhead was being secretive! Wasn't he, Yun Ling, the one who tried to put so sense on this blockhead for Yun Zhen to pursue Su Jingyi? So why wouldn't he tell him anything— whether he succeeded in convincing his future sister-in-law or not?
"Why don't you help , instead of staring at your damn phone? Are you waiting for soone's call?" Yun Ling tried to subtly probe his older brother's relationship.
"It seems that the workload isn't enough to keep you busy that you are now trying to gossip about my personal affairs? Would you like to add more, tomorrow?" Yun Zhen asked nonchalantly.
Yun Ling stared at him in horror. Too much! This brother of his was too much! How the hell did Su Jingyi co to like such a horrible person? It was either she was a saint for tolerating his brother or she knew how to make him shut up.
"No way! Definitely not! Can't you see I'm being overwheld here? It's Friday night, and yet, you won't even allow to leave work early," Yun Ling said in defense. If he didn't complain now, who would be able to save him from his brother's bullying?
"I'm rely curious if you were able to keep in touch with Miss Su," he added, not missing how Yun Zhen's eyes softened at the ntion of Su Jingyi. Ah, so sothing had really changed. Yun Ling was sure of it.
"She's doing well. There's nothing to worry about her," Yun Zhen responded. It had been a long while since Su Jingyi left the company, and she was now focusing on her own life.
"I'm not worried about her." The younger Yun brother huffed and tried not to roll his eyes. Su Jingyi was a dependable person that was good at damage control. So, why would he be worried about her? He was worried about this blockhead in front of him.
What was Yun Zhen thinking going back here to Shenzhen without Su Jingyi? Didn't he take that month long vacation trip to pursue her and convince her to stay with him?
It had been over half a year since then, and Yun Ling wasn't seeing any result— except for his brother always looking at his phone or glancing at it unconsciously, as if he was waiting for soone to call.
Was it Su Jingyi? Yun Ling wondered. He couldn't think of anyone else who could affect his older brother like this. So what was the real score between them? Were they dating or in a relationship now?
"But didn't she say that she wanted to get married and that's why she resigned? It's over half a year now, brother. Do you think she's married by now?" he asked Yun Zhen.
Yun Zhen furrowed his brows while his lips pressed into a thin line. Of course, not. That woman was so hard to convince to get married! Just like what his younger brother said, it had been months since Su Jingyi left. But, even after he pursued her and t his parents, she hadn't given him an answer yet, whether she would accept his marriage proposal or not.
As if on cue, the phone in his hand suddenly rang. Yun Zhen broke from his trance and picked up the call once he saw Su Jingyi's na registered on his screen. His whole face lit up which made his younger brother snicker behind his hand.
"Jingyi." Yun Zhen stood up and stepped out of his brother's office to have so privacy as he talked to her, aware of the teasing grin his brother had at the mont.
"Yun Zhen, another bouquet of flowers? Really?" He could already imagine Su Jingyi's face scowling at him. She really disliked unnecessary spending on his part like this.
"What? Can't a boyfriend spoil his cute little girlfriend once in a while?" he countered. This ti, a beautiful shade of red would bloom on her face. Yun Zhen had noticed that she was a little shy whenever he called her his girlfriend.
"Once in a while?" he heard Su Jingyi scoffed. "Your once in a while is sending a bouquet of different kinds of flowers every day? What do you expect to do with all these flowers?" Su Jingyi had never thought that Yun Zhen could be this ridiculous when dating soone. She had never even seen him acting like this when his attention was still on Tang Moyu before.
"That's because you won't tell which flower you like. As for the one I already sent— I don't know. Keep them in your room until they wither?" She heard Yun Zhen say which made her remind herself to give him a good smack on the head the next ti they see each other again.
Wasn't that what she was already doing, Su Jingyi thought. Looking around her room, one would think that she suddenly set up a flower shop inside their ho, given how much flowers Yun Zhen had given her in the past days.
'This man really doesn't know when it's enough.' She sighed dejectedly. Was there really no hope for her to convince Yun Zhen to stop this madness?
"I won't be able to co there in Shanghai tonight." Yun Zhen glanced at his wrist to check the ti. "I need to make sure Ling would finish his work accurately and on ti before I take the next flight."
"You don't need to rush. I'm going nowhere." Su Jingyi pursed her lips and checked the ti on her nightstand. It wasn't new to her to hear that the Yun brothers were working overti this late at night.
However, since Yun Zhen ca here to her parents' house to ask for her hand personally, he made sure to fly to see her during weekends. This was sothing she hadn't expected for him to do, but she would be lying if she said she wasn't moved by his efforts. Doing it for over five months now, Su Jingyi knew how stressful it was for Yun Zhen, considering how packed his schedule was.
