While the family of three was asleep, Tang Moyu took this chance to ssage her husband about the old head nurse she t earlier. She didn't want to disturb the others' rest, and so, she had chosen to ssage Feng Tianyi instead of giving him a call. From the way Head Nurse Yu reacted upon seeing her, Tang Moyu was certain she knew her mother so well, and she told this to her husband.
"I'll check her background at once. Don't make any reckless decisions, Moyu. Try to ask your brother for his opinion too. Whether this is a coincidence or a trap, we have to be certain," Feng Tianyi replied.
Tang Moyu stared at her husband's reply? for a long while, before she chastised herself. Why didn't she think that this might be a ploy to trap her? She almost jumped into the fire, dragging Zhang Jiren with her with her impulsive act.
Was it really a coincidence that she t the old woman who knew her birth mother? It's not that it was impossible, but it was too good to be true. Right now, there's a bigger reason to think that it was not a spontaneous eting, but soone purposely sent the old woman her way.
Thankfully, she talked to Feng Tianyi first before making a decision to see the old woman herself. She remained seated next to the hospital bed where Li ili was sleeping and waited for her brother to wake up.
This was the scene Zhang Jiren found once he woke up from his short nap. He had only been asleep for at least two hours, and was surprised to see his older sister seated next to his wife.
Tang Moyu looked awfully frightening. Sothing about the way her eyes filled with contempt made Zhang Jiren wonder what she was thinking about.
"You should have woken up, Miss Tang,"he said, letting her know that he was now awake. He and Tang Moyu had to pretend that they didn't truly get along so people wouldn't suspect about their familial ties.
"It's good that you are awake now. I need a word with you." Tang Moyu rose from her seat, taking her handbag from the table and stepped outside.
Zhang Jiren tidied up the blanket on his l.a.p and followed her. In other people's eyes, they looked like they were about to have an argunt, given how deep the frown was on Tang Moyu's face.
Zhang Jiren took a seat on the bench across his wife's door. On the other hand, Tang Moyu chose to remain standing, crossing her arms over her c.h.e.s.t and looked at him with annoyance. Even if the news of them being spotted in public reached Zhang Xianzhe, it wouldn't be suspicious.
"Sothing happened earlier when I ca here," Tang Moyu inford him as she looked away. "An old nurse claid she knew our birth mother."
"Shouldn't this be good news? You look… annoyed," he comnted. Shouldn't she be happy that they found another lead?
Tang Moyu bit her thumb and stared down at the floor. If this was a trap then they needed to tread carefully in the future, but if the old woman was telling the truth, she wondered what just happened for her to fear the Zhang family like that?
"Because I am not certain whether this was all a coincidence or a ploy to harm ," she hissed. "I didn't even realize I was to jump head on blindly, until Tianyi reminded to calm down and give it a good thought."
"Do you think she's lying though?" Zhang Jiren's eyes sharpened, wondering how much information the bastard who wanted his sister dead knew about their past.
"I'm not sure. She looks scared though, and she ntioned not informing anyone about eting her— especially the Zhang family. How the hell did she know about that?"
Now that she gave it a good thought, Tang Moyu wasn't sure whether the old nurse was trustworthy or not. What if her husband was correct and eting her was just a trap for soone to kidnap her? Tang Moyu didn't want to scare her husband and their children after her last accident.
"Tianyi is currently checking her background, as well as those who she ca in contact with these days to make sure," she told her brother.
"Then, he did the right thing. The last thing we want is to fall into soone's trap." Zhang Jiren was pleased that Feng Tianyi was able to bring so sense to his sister or else Tang Moyu would have plunged into the old woman's claims head on.
"But if she's telling the truth?" she asked him. "What do I do?"
"Then we should go together and ask her the truth," Zhang Jiren replied.
"No." Tang Moyu didn't agree with him and shook her head. "I'll go with Tianyi. You stay here with ili and Leyan."
They really shouldn't be seen together in public at this ti. It was better for Zhang Xianzhe to continue to believe that Zhang Jiren and Tang Moyu would never see each other eye to eye.
"But…" Zhang Jiren wanted to argue that he also deserved to hear the truth about their mother.
Tang Moyu caught? movent at the corner of her eye. She saw Zhang Jiren's assistant coming their way. She glanced at her brother and gave him a knowing look.
"Zhang Jiren, are you stupid? You want to leave your wife and daughter at this ti? You are really sothing!" she sneered before marching to leave, purposely letting the assistant hear her outburst.
Tang Moyu was hoping that her brother's little assistant would be smart enough to report her little argunt with Zhang Jiren. Considering how badly Zhang Xianzhe wanted to gain advantage of Zhang Jiren's marriage to Li ili, Tang Moyu was sure the old man would put soone near her brother to keep an eye on them.
