When she and Zhang Jiren arrived in Shenzhen with his private jet, Li ili had to go ho with him to the pent house where he currently resided, while the villa in the outskirts of the city was still being prepared before they could move in.
On their way to the Feng Mansion, Li ili sat in silence next to Zhang Jiren as he focused his attention on the road. Both of them were deep in thought that they didn't even realize that they hadn't uttered a single word to each other ever since they left Zhang Jiren's penthouse.
Zhang Jiren wasn't sure how he should face his twin sister, now that she knew who he truly was. He couldn't really bla Feng Tianyi for letting Tang Moyu know because he was aware that sooner or later, she would have to know about his secret, since he was now closer to her family, courtesy of Li ili and Tang Beixuan's child.
When he pulled his car to a stop, he stopped Li ili from stepping out so soon by gently holding her arm. Li ili looked at him in surprise and then stared at the hand that was holding her. A silver band on his ring finger showed that he was truly a married man now.
"What is it?" She asked curiously.
Zhang Jiren released her arm before turning to the back seat of his car to get sothing. His hand reached for a paper bag that he had left in the car hours ago and passed it to Li ili.
Li ili saw the familiar jewelry brand printed on the paper bag and wondered why her husband was giving her this when he had already provided their wedding rings yesterday under such short notice for their marriage.
"Here. Take this. This is supposed to be yours. You don't have to wear the wedding ring I gave you if you don't want to." He answered her unspoken question.
It was then Li ili understood why he was giving her this. Her hand fished out the luxurious box inside the bag and opened it. Her eyes stung with tears as she saw a perfect engagent ring inside.
"Searching for a perfect engagent ring is no easy task. Tang Beixuan had a hard ti finding the perfect ring to give you." Zhang Jiren explained.
After Tang Beixuan's death, it took him five days before he decided to clear his cousin's possessions from his cubicle. He was even more surprised at how Tang Beixuan could be so careless for leaving the ring he bought for his woman at work before eting his siblings that fateful night when he lost his life.
He intended to send Tang Beixuan's things to Tang Moyu when he had ti. It never occurred to him that he would end up marrying Li ili instead. Since the ring was already in his hands, he supposed it was only fair for Li ili to have it.
Li ili blinked her tears away and closed the box that was in her hands before putting it back inside the bag. She would forever cherish this ring but it didn't sound fair for Zhang Jiren if she removed her wedding ring now that they were still married.
"Let's go. Moyu is probably waiting for us." She said, leaving the paper bag on her seat before getting out.
Zhang Jiren stared at her in shock, surprised that she hadn't imdiately worn the ring Tang Beixuan had bought for her. He wanted to ask her why, but he wasn't sure if he was ready to hear her answer. Not that Li ili could answer him truthfully anyway.
Zhang Jiren followed her out and saw that she had been waiting for him. Her expression was one filled with worry. She was worried about how Tang Moyu would take the news about her sudden marriage to Zhang Jiren.
Li ili knew that her best friend was against her idea of marrying him, but it was too late for her to back out now. Her parents had found out about her pregnancy. If Zhang Jiren hadn't appeared the other day to visit her father, Li ili wasn't sure how things would turn out for her.
When they reached the entrance, the old butler of the Feng family welcod them and led them to the garden where Feng Tianyi and Tang Moyu were waiting. The two were surprised when the two little buns ca running towards them in glee.
"Uncle! Uncle! Did you co to visit and Yu Gege again?" Little Star grinned at Zhang Jiren, extending her arms, indicating that she wanted to be carried by him.
"Yes. It seems like you are growing so fast, Little Star. Have you been eating a lot lately?" He asked in return. Everyti he t the girl, Little Star would beco more and more like her mother.
"En. Since we cannot go out and have to accompany mommy at ho, Yu Gege and I are trying new desserts with her." The little girl said proudly. Although she was missing her classmates, she also cannot deny that she loved spending ti with her mother.
Zhang Jiren let out a smile and easily picked up his niece. Seeing Little Star surely improved his mood a lot today, his nerves were cald by her sunny smile.
Along with her ca Xiao Bao, who greeted Li ili instead. He took her hand and smiled, saying nothing. Li ili then wondered if her child would be as happy as her godchildren in the future.
It was at that mont Feng Tianyi appeared with Tang Moyu holding his arm. Her ever impassive face didn't allow Zhang Jiren to figure out what she was even thinking as she looked at him and Li ili. Their eting today as brother and sister was inevitable.
"Ah, you are just in ti. We are about to have lunch. Please join us." Feng Tianyi said, trying to dispel the tension between his wife and the newly wedded couple.
