Their ho was unusually silent when they arrived. Feng Tianyi initially thought that with their twins spending ti together with his mother, he would be able to spend so quality ti with his wife. But after what happened in the shelter, he feared that she might not want to have anything to do with him anymore.
Indeed, she knew what kind of person he was years ago, sothing he was so desperate to bury deep in the grave of history. He should have been more careful when she was around, but how else was he supposed to react upon seeing her in such a dire situation?
When they entered their ho, they were greeted by a smiling Auntie Lu, who asked Tang Moyu about their day. Her smile then faltered and gasped once she saw the empress's bandage hand.
"Moyu? Are you alright? What happened to your hand?" She asked affectionately. Tang Moyu might not have a good mother growing up, but she had Auntie Lu by her side, who loved her like her own and treated her well.
"You didn't get into another fight, did you?" She then gave the empress an inquisitive gaze knowing her past actions that had led her into this.
Tang Moyu scratched the back of neck and humd. She knew she couldn't hide or keep it a secret from Auntie Lu. After all, the old woman was practically the one who raised her and disciplined her throughout her whole life. No one knew the empress better than Auntie Lu.
Auntie Lu then looked at Feng Tianyi, who was also ashad that his wife had gotten hurt while in his company.
"Ah, you too, Tianyi? Seriously, I thought you were able to ta my mistress's thirst in violence. I didn't think you were the sa as our Moyu." Auntie Lu rubbed her temple.
She had thought that since Feng Tianyi was a decent and kind person with good temperant, he would be able to influence the empress to avoid getting into fights. Auntie Lu hadn't anticipated that even his mistress's husband would also participate in street fights.
With a sigh, the old woman gestured to the couple to co inside. "Co, have dinner first. I prepared a light al today since the twins aren't here."
Feng Tianyi was left flabbergasted by Auntie Lu's words. Wasn't she going to chastise him for Tang Moyu's injury?
He looked down on himself and realized why Auntie Lu thought so. He wasn't doing any better, based on how he looked at the mont. Although he washed himself clean back at the shelter, his clothes had gotten dirty from the commotion earlier.
Sighing to himself, Feng Tianyi followed the two won inside and joined them for dinner. He sat next to Tang Moyu, who thanked the older woman for the als she prepared for them.
"Auntie Lu, I thought you wouldn't be at ho today and will be visiting relatives?" Tang Moyu said after passing the plate of sweet and sour pork to her husband.
Whenever the twins spend ti with Song Huifen, Tang Moyu would allow the maids and Auntie Lu to take a day off from work. So she was surprised to see her Auntie Lu at ho when they ca back from the shelter.
"Ah, change of plans. They had an ergency and gave a call in ti just as I was about to leave. Thank goodness I haven't left yet and their ergency wasn't serious as I thought it would be." Auntie Lu explained.
Feng Tianyi tuned out their conversation and ate quietly. While Tang Moyu didn't totally ignore him, he didn't have any guts to face her at the mont.
Even when they were done with their dinner and went upstairs to their bedroom, he went to shower without saying anything to his wife. When he ca back, Tang Moyu was nowhere to be seen and he could only run his hands over his face for his stupidity.
He decided to wait for her return. If Tang Moyu wasn't in the study, she was probably taking a shower in another bathroom in the house. He was proven correct when Tang Moyu ca back half an hour later, dressed in her nightdress and silk robe with a towel on her hands as she rubbed her hair to avoid dripping.
Tang Moyu went to her vanity table, turned on the hair dryer and started working to dry her hair. Her stealthy eyes took a glimpse of her husband, who was seated on their bed with a serious and conflicted expression on his face.
She wondered what he was thinking this ti. They both had a long day today and to be honest, Tang Moyu was surprised that the old man Jia and her husband knew each other.
What happened back in the shelter wasn't solely his fault and she hoped that he wasn't blaming himself for it. If Feng Tianyi hadn't arrived on ti and saved her, Tang Moyu couldn't imagine what could have happened to her back then.
"How much longer are you planning to give a silent treatnt?" She asked, breaking the silence between them.
Feng Tianyi snapped his head and turned to face her with wide eyes.
"Moyu, I-"
"If you are going to apologize to again, think twice before you speak, Tianyi. I don't want to hear the sa apologies for sothing you have no control over or nothing to do with." Tang Moyu reminded him, giving him a pointed look through the mirror in front of her. He didn't to feel sorry for what he felt.
Feng Tianyi fell silent and considered her words. She was right. If anything, he didn't regret losing control back then as he was able to save her on ti. He was willing to play a villain again if that ant he would be able to keep her away from any harm. Also, Tang Moyu didn't seem like she had taken it seriously or was disgusted by him.
"You are right." He sighed. "I have no reason to apologize."
