Xiao Bao and Little Star were cheering for their daddy. Their daddy had told them that he intended to propose to their mommy today, but whatever Tang Moyu's answer would be, Feng Tianyi assured them that nothing would change as he would remain their daddy.
Tang Moyu was at a loss. What did her little buns an by that? She could only watch her little buns run towards the guest house, leaving her alone with Feng Tanyi.
"What is it about?" She asked him curiously. Tang Moyu hadn't failed to notice that Feng Tianyi and their children were dressed up as if there was a special occasion today.
She tried to rember what day it was and if she was forgetting sothing but there was none. Tang Moyu couldn't rember anyone having their birthday today or anyone who was celebrating a special occasion today.
Her little buns rarely kept anything from her and she could only assu that their unusual deanor was because she wasn't always around to look after them. In fact, she felt a pang of slight guilt thinking that Feng Tianyi was always there to cover after her whenever she was too busy at work.
If only she could lessen her working ti to make sure the twins wouldn't feel that she was disregarding and had forgotten about them. The last thing Tang Moyu wanted was for her little buns to think that she didn't love them anymore.
"Ah, well…" Feng Tianyi scratched his head awkwardly, piquing the empress's attention.
"What?" She asked him again. None of this was making sense to her.
"Yeah, I took them with for so help and I wanted to ask for their permission." He was visibly anxious, which made the empress wonder what he was up to this ti that he needed their twins' permission?
When Tang Moyu saw him pull out a black velvet box, she felt like the air on her lungs had been knocked out of it. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. It felt surreal and impossible at the sa ti.
Feng Tianyi took a deep breath and smiled nervously. He had thought several tis how he would propose to her, but at this very mont, all of those words he had painstakingly morized were forgotten now that she was in front of him, waiting for him.
"I'm sorry, Moyu. As much as I would like to, I cannot?go down on one knee and ask you properly."
The empress was stunned and rooted in her place. Her eyes looked at him as if he had grown another head over his shoulder. Was this really happening?
For the past weeks, she'd been contemplating if she should let him know about the clause that accompanied her inheritance. Tang Moyu had been thinking about the possibility of them getting married, but she wasn't prepared for this. No one prepared her for his sudden marriage proposal.
"Moyu, I have been thinking about this for a while now, because you are always in my mind." He opened the small box in his hand, allowing Tang Moyu to see the diamond engagent ring he'd prepared just for her.
"Please give a chance to love you, to be in your life. I will always be the one that you can count on all the ti. I will do everything in my power to make you and the twins happy. There can only be you as my wife. Moyu… marry , please? Please be my wife."
When she remained silent, he continued.
"I don't really know what I'm supposed to do if you say "no", so could you save us both the trouble and say yes?" He tried to lighten the mood, but it was just too hard for him to know what she was going to say.
"I know you are the only one I wanted to share the rest of my life with. I might not be the best candidate for a husband, but if you would have …" Feng Tianyi cleared his throat and looked at her. "Marry , say yes, and make the happiest man alive."
The empress was too shocked and couldn't utter a single word in response. Her mind was having a hard ti comprehending what had happened. Did Feng Tianyi just propose marriage to her?
A lifeti spent with him? Tang Moyu didn't think it was a bad idea at all, but was she ready to take the next step with him?
She could see the sincerity in his words and how it wasn't easy for him to muster the courage to ask for her hand in marriage. The devil had never begged anyone, but Tang Moyu knew he had lowered his pride, to take this shot with her.
Feng Tianyi held his breath as he waited patiently for Tang Moyu's answer. His hold on the box containing her ring tightened every second she kept her silence. The engagent ring had a sparkle to it in the light, yet it was incomparable to the clear eyes that never failed to enthrall him every single ti he looked at her.
Hearing no answer from her, his heart dropped and an unexplainable pain in his c.h.e.s.t started to spread to his entirety. Had he read her wrong? Didn't she love him enough to fully accept him, not only as her children's father but also her other half?
Feng Tianyi frowned as he wondered if he had just made a fool out of himself by asking Tang Moyu's hand for marriage this soon. But he really felt that it wasn't that fast. He wasn't sure how to continue anymore, as the empress hadn't said anything in return.
"A-are you certain about this?" She asked after her long silence.
"What?"
"Are you certain that you want as your wife?" She repeated.
"Moyu, I've never been so sure until now."
