Tang Moyu arrived in her office just in ti and saw that her assistant was on the phone. She could sense the hesitation on Cheng Ning's face when their eyes t. Whoever the woman was speaking to, Tang Moyu was sure that it was bad news.
The intercom in her office beeped before she heard her assistant's voice co through. Tang Moyu had just turned on her computer and was about to read her agenda for today.
"Miss Moyu, there's a call for you…" Now, Tang Moyu had no doubt that she wouldn't like whoever it was.
"It's Tang Zhelan." Cheng Ning responded with nervousness. "Would you like to receive the call or do you want to drop it for you?"
Tang Zhelan? Hm? Tang Moyu hadn't expected that her cousin had so much ti on her hands that she would waste so just to annoy her today.
"No, I will receive it. Thank you for your concern, Miss Cheng." She said before connecting the phone line with her cousin.
"Zhelan, what's up? Enjoying your new life already?" She said nonchalantly. She then heard her cousin's laughter on the other end of the line. It was clear that Tang Zhelan was still not fond of her. The woman never did and Tang Moyu wouldn't waste her ti trying to understand her bruised ego when she had so many things on her plate right now.
"Just checking if you enjoyed my surprise for you, Moyu. It's been a while since we've seen each other, don't you think?" She heard Tang Zhelan say.
"Oh, how thoughtful of you, Zhelan. If you an that your surprise was for to see Feng Tianhua at the last shareholders' eting, I think you did a good job scaring those old farts' hearts instead when they saw him." Tang Moyu retorted, not giving her devious cousin any chance to feel enjoynt over her predicant.
"Is there anything I can help you with? Cause you know, I'm quite busy right now. I have a business to run and don't have the liberty to sit and laze around, drinking so cheap scotch."
When she didn't hear her cousin retort, Tang Moyu sneakered inwardly. Bullseye. Tang Zhelan had such a pride that wouldn't allow her to easily admit her weaknesses to Tang Moyu.
Tang Moyu had been ignoring her for so ti now, and yet, Tang Zhelan was clearly still thinking about her. What was this kind of attitude anyway? The empress hoped that her cousin wasn't obsessed with her because that's just creepy and uncomfortable. She had really nothing else to say about it.
Tang Zhelan had always been an unwanted guest for Tang Moyu. Since they were younger, Tang Zhelan had persistently wanted to compete with her in everything. She wasn't the least embarrassed by her failed attempts to get the empress's attention and confidently approached her.
"If you have nothing to say, please stop disturbing people who need to work." Tang Moyu said before hanging up. She rubbed her temple and took a deep breath. Her cousin was just trying to provoke her.
Due to the imbalance of the support she was having now from the shareholders, Tang Moyu's next project needed to be successful at any rate. One single mistake and it might be used against her by her 'mother' and Feng Tianhua, who both had different motives for ousting her from her current seat.
Still, the market share was stable and Tang Moyu still had the leeway to use the company's resources without asking permission from the board. Fortunately, she wasn't lacking funds. However, that didn't an that she would use everything. As always, she opted to build a team of her own that would supervise and help her with the current project.
Tang Moyu eyed the folder containing all the details she received from Yun Group. She initially thought that Yun Zhen was joking when he said he wanted to collaborate with her soon.
She didn't know what his motive was or what caught his interest for him to try and get acquainted with her once again. Tang Moyu had only known the man five years ago on that fateful night. Her impression of him didn't differ from any other business partners she had beco accustod with, such as Xu Wenyang.
Yun Zhen wanted to see the initial plan as soon as possible and wanted to discuss the details with her personally. She was sure that the next few days for her would be more hectic than usual.
Endless etings, endless provision of the blueprints and plans, Tang Moyu hated that her work was starting to get in the way of her personal life.
As expected, the next few days didn't give Tang Moyu, Lu Tianxin and Gu Yuyao ti to laze around as they were already knee deep in the preparations of the initial plan for their project with Yun Group.
She didn't even have ti to send Feng Tianyi off before he flew off for a business trip with Song Fengyan due to her busy schedule. At least the man she was with was understanding enough and had called her before his departure.
"What's with Yun Zhen? He only wanted to be part of the deal if Moyu is in charge. I sll sothing fishy, Tianxin." Gu Yuyao comnted as she passed the estimated expenses to Tang Moyu, who was too engrossed with the paper in her hand.
"I don't know… do they really have a history like what the dia say?" Lu Tianxin glanced at cousin, gauging Tang Moyu's reaction.
"There's nothing between us." Tang Moyu said without breaking her attention from the doc.u.nt she was reading. He was just a business partner I was supposed to work with when I was still working for Feng Conglorate."
Although she might have known the man when she was younger and had t him again years ago, Tang Moyu didn't think it was enough to establish a connection with him. She was just a kid who had foolishly promised to marry him in the future. Thinking about it, Tang Moyu realized how kids were too innocent and oblivious of the gravity of their words and promises.
