Elder Gu and Song Huifen had given their speeches, congratulating the newlywed couple on the new milestone in their lives. Then the party started in full swing. The food had been served and the guests chatted animatedly with each other, while so took their sweet ti congratulating He Lianchen and Gu Yuyao on their wedding.
Tang Moyu sat with her daughter, sharing their table with Li ili and Lu Tianxin. The three won conversed while Little Star busied herself with the delicious dessert in front of her.
"Too bad Qian couldn't co with us. I hope she's feeling okay now." Li ili sighed as she took another drink from the passing waiter.
"Is she still in the hospital? When is she due anyway?" Lu Tianxin asked curiously. She had t Lin Qianrou a couple of tis, considering Xu Wenyang was one of their major investors.
"Next week, but her husband insisted for her to get admitted sooner. Her cramps are getting stronger each day. She might give birth anyti now." Li ili answered. She visited her friend at the hospital before flying to Beijing.
"Auntie Qian is having a baby?" Little Star lifted her face in surprise. Her cheeks and chin had smudges of chocolate on it that made Li ili and Lu Tianxin laugh at her. "I wanna see her baby!" She exclaid.
Tang Moyu pulled a clean napkin and wiped her daughter's face clean. Unlike her son, Little Star still made a ss when eating once in a while.
"Yes, darling. Your Auntie Qian is having a baby. We'll see them as soon as we're ho." She told her daughter. With her busy schedule, Tang Moyu wasn't able to see and et Lin Qianrou for a few weeks now, although she was able to give her a call once in a while to check on her.
"Do you like babies, Little Star?" Lu Tianxin asked the girl. She had brought Luo Luo along with her today, but he was with Ye Xiaozu and Ye Xixi at the mont as she chose to have so girl ti with her cousin and Li ili.
"No, Auntie Xin. Babies are cute, but they are also noisy when they are crying." She said with all honesty.
How many tis had she seen crying babies every ti she and her mommy went to the hospital for her and Yu Gege's routine checkup? Little Star had lost the count. They always cry for everything.
Li ili laughed and held her side from Little Star's honesty. Little Star had made this annoyed face that reminded Li ili so much of her best friend when they were younger.
"You don't like babies? But what if that baby is your baby sister or brother? What if your mommy has a baby with your Daddy Ji?" Li ili asked curiously, wanting to know if the little girl was ready to share her mommy's love with others.
Little Star dropped her spoon and looked at her mother with teary eyes.
"B-but… but… I'm my mommy's baby…wuuuu… I don't want a baby brother or sister." She sobbed, her eyes now rimming with tears, her lips quivered at the thought of sharing her mommy with another baby.
No matter if the baby was her sibling, Little Star didn't think she was ready to give up her title as her Mommy's little baby. While it was true that she and her Yu Gege were twins, she enjoyed the perks of being the youngest. She also loved it when her Mommy called her baby.
The empress gave her best friend a pointed look while Li ili mouthed a sorry for making Little Star cry. She hadn't thought that the girl would take it seriously.
"Hush, darling. Please don't cry." Tang Moyu took her daughter from her seat and placed Little Star on her l.a.p, drying her tears. "Your Auntie i is just joking. You are still my baby, alright? Even if you beco a big girl that mommy can't hold you like this, you will always be my baby."
"Really?" Little Star sniffed, her tears continued to roll down her cheeks. "Even if you have a new baby with Daddy Ji?" She probed.
"But we aren't planning to have a baby." 'At least not now', Tang Moyu thought and didn't dare to voice out. She tried to ignore the slight blush on her face as she continued to console her crying daughter.
"You and your brother are my babies. I'm happy and content having you and Baobao right now." She added.
Little Star didn't mind sharing her mommy's love and attention with her twin brother because they were born together and grew up together. However, it would be a different matter if her mommy gave birth to a baby like their Auntie Qian.
"Moyu, your daughter is so beautiful like you. Like mother, like daughter. Would you mind introducing her to ?"
A familiar voice reached Tang Moyu's ears. She froze for a mont before turning her attention to the direction where it ca from. She saw Wang Ruoxi together with Feng Tianhua and Xing Yiyue standing a few feet behind her.
Tang Moyu stood up, bringing her daughter in her arms and narrowed her eyes on these unwanted guests. She didn't like how the old woman looked at her daughter with unconcealed disgust.
"ili, take my daughter with you, will you?" She told her best friend, who didn't waste ti taking Little Star from her arms. If there was soone who was able to protect her daughter aside from her, it would be Li ili.
"Sure. Co and find us when you are done here." Li ili shot Wang Ruoxi and Feng Tianhua with a glare before leaving with Little Star.
Once they were gone, Lu Tianxin stepped forward and held onto her cousin's arm. They cannot make any disturbance on this happy occasion. Although the Feng family were only invited out of courtesy, they were still the Gu family's guests.
