250 What’s There to Talk About? 2
"Calm down, ili. He's not worth your ti. I also have no idea what he's up to, or if he was just using his wife just to talk to us." Tang Moyu, who was sitting in the passenger seat, replied as they waited for the traffic light to change to green. She also didn't expect to see Feng Tianhua today.
It didn't surprise her that he only sought her because of Xing Yiyue. The woman was his wife after all, so it was expected for him to stand up for her even if she was on the wrong side.
Tang Moyu scoffed inwardly at that thought. If it was her and Feng Tianyi, she would probably not hear the end of it as the devil would surely give her a piece of his mind, reminding her not to be reckless.
Ah, that was easier said than done in her opinion. Didn't Feng Tianyi know it's hard to control one's temper when there's an idiot who loved to keep on testing it?
On the other hand, Li ili didn't bother to hide her irritation over the matter. She had a bad feeling about it. Maybe the rumors about Feng Tianhua and Xing Yiyue's marriage being on the rocks had a basis. Wasn't there a saying, that there's no smoke without a fire?
'Heh, karma is a bitch.' She thought.
If Feng Tianhua hadn't cast aside Tang Moyu and let his wife sche against the empress, he wouldn't have to face problems one after another. Did he really think that managing a huge company was as easy as walking in the park? Didn't Tang Moyu spend years to reestablish their connections with their old partners while he wasted ti chasing skirts?
It's true, they were not in love nor were they in a romantic relationship with each other. But although their marriage arrangent was purely business, didn't Tang Moyu at least deserve to be respected after all the things she'd done to help him?
Did Feng Tianhua finally realize how vital Tang Moyu was to keep his family business flourishing? That after she left, everything was now thrown in his way, everyone expecting him to perform at the empress's level?
When they reached the restaurant, the staff imdiately opened the doors when they saw Li ili walking towards them with Tang Moyu. The two had been regulars here, so they were also familiar with the empress, who was very generous to give tips to those who served and prepared their als.
So it wasn't surprising that so of the staff, as well as those in the kitchen, always went an extra mile to please their Miss ili and Tang Moyu whenever they ca for a visit.
Li ili regretted not seeing them today. Looking at her best friend's little buns, she felt like she was looking at her own children, growing up under her care. From the mont they were born, to their first steps and first words, Li ili had been there to witness all of it.
This was why Tang Moyu was confident to leave her children in her care once in a while, because she knew how much her best friend loved her little buns. It was literally to the moon and back kind of love.
"They're fine. A little nervous, but fine." Tang Moyu assured her. "Didn't I send you their picture that I snapped this morning?" She raised a brow at her friend.
Li ili sighed dejectly and pulled out her phone, opening her wechat app to take another look at the sa photo her friend was talking about.
"You know this isn't enough for , Moyu. I want to see them." She whined. "I want to have little buns as cute as yours too!"
"Then go try to settle down. But I know when I say this, you wouldn't." The empress thanked the waitress who served her al and started eating without preamble, laughing a little when she saw Li ili scowled at her suggestion. "For soone who dates a lot, you sure are allergic to settling down."
"No way." Li ili huffed and stabbed the ice in her tall glass with its straw. "You don't understand, Moyu. Dating and marriage are totally different. While so date with the prospect of marriage in their mind, I don't."
"Why?" The empress was aware that Li ili never dated a man for too long and broke up with them once she felt that they were asking more of her. What made Li ili act like this? She wondered.
Best friend she may be, but Li ili rarely talked about the n she dated over the years unless she wanted to share sothing, like that one guy she dated while they were in New York, only to find out that he was only dating Li ili so his conversative family wouldn't suspect about his sexuality.
Li ili shrugged and looked away, her eyes hiding sothing that Tang Moyu had seen every ti she asked about her boyfriends. There's this particular man that she knew had managed to affect Li ili, but that was over five years ago and she had no idea of the man's identity.
Did her best friend ever loved a man so much before that no matter how many n she'd t so far, she wouldn't allow herself to settle down? Tang Moyu wondered.
