A look of bewildernt crossed her eyes and her brows knitted into a thin line!
"Which secret are you talking about?" as far as she knew, she had not hidden anything from him or anyone else.

Looking at her innocent face forming a frown, he pursued his lips but his eyes darkened!
There were so many questions in his mind that he wanted to clarify before moving further! He had investigated her so many tis yet he never found anything to solve the mysteries that were surrounding her!
Looking at the look of confusion in her naive eyes, he did not know how to respond.
He stood up and scooped her in his arms and sat on the sofa but did not say a word further! He wanted to relax himself with her scent as he did not want their relationship that was tied with a thin tread to be broken down.
Evan was thinking that he would kiss her again or they would talk about romantic things. But why did she feel that the atmosphere had turned heavy!
As if they were going to discuss the war or so conflict! The thought made her uneasy and she squird in his arms.
The way he was holding her, her back was leaning on his chest, so she could not see his eyes and what he was feeling! But she could feel the pressure his body was emitting.
She tried to get away from his grip so that she would sit opposite to him and look at his face but he did not let her!
"I am talking about your skills! You know that commoners could not do math and know about science.
Though they were taught reading and writing. It was only a minimum so that they could read their service contract and sign them.
In the na of math, they only know counting and basic addition and subtraction so that they can sell and buy things. But what we do here in filing is accounts!

"Why have you not gone to et that neighborhood boy then?" Though his face was still calm, his eyes were flickering with doubts.
He wanted to have a strong relationship with her, but the facts just did not match!
"Oh! He had left the town on my 16th birthday!'' She still rembered when he left a lot of rumors.
"You know where he had gone to?" he lowered his head and looked at her face but she shook her head with a sigh!
"I rembered he told that his work had finished here and he had another mission to do! But he told that I have grown into a fine lady, and he would co back when I get married with a big gift for !
Though I should be the one to give him a gift as he was my teacher! He was the one who always offered sweets and even brought a lot of other delicacies for !" her voice turned softer and her face with the look of longing!
His face turned dark and his grip on her waist tightened! Why did he feel that it was another competition!
"And your mother, how did she die?" her eyes turned dim and a forlorn look filled his face as she looked away.
"She was ill for a long ti! We did not have money to take her to the physicians in the town!
And the physician's we have at our place are not that qualified! She kept saying that I should not worry and one day, a knight in shining armor would co and take to my real family!"
"Your real family?" he frowned but she turned her head and shook her head,
"She must be talking about my marriage! I did not know why she always believed that I would marry a knight or an aristocrat!
I did not know what gave her confidence but she used to say that i will end up in a big palace one day!" Evan chuckled with the words, but her eyes were dim and lost its brilliance, her face filled with painful mories of the past!
"Maybe, she knew that father would choose you one day!"
