Even If I’m Reborn as a Cute Dragon Girl, I Will Still Make a Harem Book 6: Chapter 71: Inspect
Book 6: Chapter 71: Inspect
“Hearing you say that stirred sothing inside .”
Li Desheng wiped away his non-existent tears, then looked at the creature hopefully.
“How about sparing the life of this fool?” he asked.
Seemingly bored with the unchanging scenery, the monster turned her head and grinned at him.
“What do you think my answer will be?”
The swirling darkness beneath the skin of her cheeks surged more violently, like a drooling beast that had caught the scent of prey already within reach.
“You disappoint , old friend…” The monster let out a quiet, regretful sigh. “I had hoped you might amuse . But in the end, you chose the most foolish way to die.”
“Well, that can’t be helped. Life’s full of surprises,” Li Desheng said, flashing her a smile. “But at least I didn’t betray my conscience by dying for the sake of others, right?”
“If it were Three, he’d sacrifice everyone on this ship in the na of righteousness. Even if it only gave him the slimst chance of victory, he wouldn’t hesitate. This is why I never get along with those brutes who only care about fighting and killing,” he said.
The monster stared into the man’s eyes and sighed with genuine emotion.
“If we hadn’t been on opposite sides… or in different positions… maybe we really could’ve been friends,” she said.
“I’m honored to be called a friend by the Dragon Eater, whose very na strikes fear across the entire Great World.”
After a few hollow laughs, Li Desheng lowered the golden spatula in his hand. He closed his eyes and surrendered himself to his impending death.
“Then, for the sake of our everlasting friendship… could the high and mighty Dragon Eater make it quick? I’m scared of pain…”
But death didn’t co. Instead, the monster looked past him, toward sothing behind him.
A dozen stunned eyes stared in silence.
“Hello again, Captain Graybert.”
The monster smiled at the older man, whose expression was caught between joy and terror.
Through the shock and fear clouding his mind, the man finally recognized the monster.
“You’re… Miss Lilith? How did you… end up like this?”
Her innocent, adorable smile from just a day ago was still fresh in his mory. But now, the smile on this creature’s face sent chills deep into his bones.
“Well, a lot has happened. Sorry if I scared you all with how I look now,” Lilith said apologetically.
“N-no… not at all…” Graybert forced a smile and waved his hands, though his legs were shaking uncontrollably.
And that was understandable. Who wouldn’t be terrified, seeing such a creature appear before them?
In fact, the fact that Graybert wasn’t curled up in a corner, trembling like the rest of the crew, was already more than Lilith had expected.
“Don’t worry. I won’t hurt you.”
To reassure her forr acquaintances, Lilith added with a soft voice, “I believe I’ve already earned your trust by now, right?”
Recalling the promised gold coins that Lilith had given him, without even one coin less, cald Graybert down sowhat.
“Y-Yes… of course. I believe we have nothing to worry about if it’s Miss Lilith.”
Even if he didn’t believe her, what could he possibly do?
He glanced at the darkness swirling around Lilith. It was clearly of the sa origin as the black veil that now blanketed the sky. A helpless smile ford at the corners of his mouth.
Miss Lilith was truly far more terrifying than he had imagined.
“Thank you. I’ll try to finish this quickly,” Lilith said with a polite nod.
And so, under the stunned gaze of the crew, the monster girl drove her hand directly into Li Desheng’s chest.
No blood poured out.
Instead, so sort of darkness—the very sa one that had consud the world—devoured everything inside the man’s body.
“Goddammit…”
The corporate slave shed tears of blood as he faced death, choking out his final, pitiful words.
“I was all ready, but you didn’t do it… and just when I let my guard down… you stabbed … Did you really have a problem with …?”
“Sorry, I was distracted,” Lilith replied, not sounding sorry at all.
“…Are we really… friends?”
“Well, friends always surprise each other, no?” Lilith said michievously.
“…F̲u̲c̲k̲.”
Li Desheng’s breath grew weaker until it finally stopped.
Lilith raised her hand. Pure black flas erupted and devoured everything that had belonged to him, including that ridiculous golden spatula.
Even after losing its owner, the spatula humd as if struggling to escape its fate.
But before the Dragon Eater’s most terrifying power—the all-consuming black fla—its resistance was futile. Even its hatred beca nothing more than fuel for the blaze.
“What a guy,” Lilith murmured, closing her eyes as she felt the power that swelled within her after the fla devoured the golden spatula.
So this was the Deity Lord’s power. It far exceeded the combined might of several thousand demigods.
Li Desheng had been too weak to wield its true power, that was why it erupted with such overwhelming regret and hatred in its final mont.
“…Is everything over?” Lilith murmured.
She looked up gently at the trembling captain, who had been holding his breath.
“Captain Graybert, would you mind if I searched the cabin?”
“Huh? …O-Of course not, go ahead…”
Having just watched the monster girl effortlessly kill the man who could calm a tsunami, Graybert did not dare refuse.
“Shall I lead the way?” he offered quickly.
“That’d be great.”
In an eerie, subdued calm, Graybert led the monster girl through every part of the SS Behemoth.
He even played tour guide, eagerly explaining the history behind each artifact and treasured piece aboard the ship. His crew looked on in stunned silence, admiration mingling with disbelief.
When they reached the massive cannon mounted on the bow, Graybert beca unexpectedly animated. His eyes lit up as he spoke, as though he had forgotten entirely who stood beside him.
“Yes, yes, I already know your cannon’s birthday, her waistline, and even her favorite gunpowder from the Holy Sky Empire.” Lilith blinked at him and asked, “But where else haven’t we checked yet?”
Realizing he had gone on too long, Graybert scratched his head sheepishly. “I think… the only place left is… my bedroom.”
“Well then, let’s go.” Lilith turned around and walked ahead.
“Eh? Hold on!” Graybert summoned his courage and called out, his face twisting in protest. “D-do we really have to inspect sothing as private as… my bedroom?”
“What nonsense are you spouting? Didn’t you let into your subordinates’ rooms without any complaint?” Lilith said, raising an eyebrow as her tone turned cold.
“Is there sothing in your room… that you can’t show ?”
