Those were dark years.

I was born in a filthy, foul-slling brothel, where the creature I called “Father” knew nothing aside from riding female with a stupid grin on his face, while the one called “Mother” served solely as a reproductive tool, spending most of the year pregnant.

My siblings crawled on all fours like animals, snatching food that had turned sour from stone troughs.

I was the only human in that pen who learned to stand.

This maverick behavior elevated from re food to… slave, and I was sent to Beastn territories, where female humans fetched a high price.

On that fateful day, I was taken to a dimly lit room, and wheeled into a booth alongside a dozen other slaves.

For the first ti, I wore beautiful clothes but was subjected to the disgusting gaze of fat monsters surveying their rchandise on the stage.

I saw it in the eyes of the other slaves—a numbness etched deep into their bones—as they obeyed their “masters”.

So lifted their skirt to show their flesh; others posed provocatively with vacant eyes.

But for so reason, I wasn’t as numb.

That day, I chose to rebel.

I can’t pinpoint the exact cause of my resistance—whether it was a yearning for freedom, revulsion toward those monsters below the stage, or so unknown impulse.

Despite being influenced by those I called “parents” and “siblings,” who had convinced since childhood that I was no more than an animal—an identity I had at so point accepted—I suddenly resisted.

I even surprised myself by biting the hand of a man who demanded I strip.

As expected, what followed was punishnt. No one would buy a defiant slave.

In anger, the Beastman who had purchased from a demon raised his barbed whip and publicly disciplined before the other slaves.

With each strike, my flesh was lacerated and blood sprayed everywhere. The pain was so intense it felt as though my skin was on fire.

Since my value was gone, the Beastman did not hold back. After several lashes, my consciousness began to blur.

Am I going to die?

It doesn’t matter. I hope I’ll never be reborn as a human.

—…Those were my thoughts at the ti.

In the last monts of my consciousness, the most beautiful sight I’d ever seen erged.

Accompanied by a loud clang, a dazzling beam of light burst upon my face.

It was sothing called sunlight. Though I have never felt its warmth, I sohow knew its na.

The Beastn ceased whipping and growled in anger, while the “guests” who had co for the spectacle scread in panic and scattered in all directions.

It was then that I could finally catch my breath and look up at the light.

There, silhouetted against the bright light, was a figure in a flowing dress. She looked like a dancing black butterfly, flapping her beautiful wings as she descended gracefully before .

Her curious, azure eyes studied intently. Her blonde hair flowed around her, radiating a luster akin to sunlight.

She extended her fair hand toward , and with a sweet voice, she smiled and asked, “Hey, little slave, can you stand?”

Ha.

Ha.

I’ve forgotten what I was thinking at that ti.

All I could think of was that the sun, which I had longingly stared at countless tis through the gaps in the fence of my pen, had truly descended to the mortal world.

“Of… course…”

With all my strength, I reached out and held onto the only sun in my life.

“Damn it! How dare you try to let them escape!” Three roared angrily and summoned the long black river once again. It churned with an intensity that could drown anyone.

“Don’t even think about it!” Ciel couldn’t help but reveal a smile. “Ha, too late.”

Although everything she had said was from the bottom of her heart, she still achieved her second purpose, which was to divert Three’s attention.

The mont she saw her heavenly tribulation in the form of the Dragon Queen, she realized that ascending to the Divine Realm was no longer viable, so she had to choose another path.

Although that path would lead her to a dead end, it was worth it as long as Lilith could successfully escape. After all, if it hadn’t been for Lilith, she would have died a miserable death a million years ago.

“Living an extra one million years is already a steal!”

Moreover, she had lived those extra million years as a human, with dignity. Although there were still regrets… Although there was still resentnt… Although she still hadn’t fulfilled her promise to save Lilith from that endless cycle of reincarnation… Although she hadn’t beco Lilith’s sun…

“Even if I can’t beco her sun, I can still beco your guiding light, even if I’m incompetent!” Ciel took a deep breath, drawing in all the magic power within a ten-thousand-mile radius like a whale.

Although this magic power had more impurities and could not be absorbed by an ordinary person, for a demigod, it was not a problem. Besides, she wasn’t even trying to absorb this magic power.

The tribulation clouds had gradually dispersed along with her heavenly tribulation.

Ciel raised her head to look at the black sun in the sky. In that mont, she felt as though she saw Lilith dressed in black, descending from the sky in the warm sunshine to bring light to her again.

“That’s warm,” Ciel murmured with a smile.

A cluster of golden flas suddenly rose around her body.

“Igniting your divine power?” Three’s eyelids twitched; that golden fla was all too familiar to her. It was what had destroyed her original body.

The old hag had ignited her divine power to draw out the complete Authority from her essence, but it had also dood her to certain death.

Three looked up to the sky and laughed. “Good! Good! “At least there’s soone to keep company on the way to hell.”

The long black river surged, and what separated from it was no longer a drop or two of water but a trickle about the thickness of a finger. As a result, Three paled.

“But until then, you underestimate the horror of the power of Complete Authority!” Three extended her finger and yelled, “GO!”

The black river transford into a narrow stream that traveled directly through space toward Ciel.

Ciel looked at the golden longsword in her hand and whispered, “I’m sorry for dragging all of you into this.”

The sword buzzed in response.

Ciel smiled faintly and replied, “Is that so? In that case, let’s walk together on this final path.”

Golden flas enveloped the longsword. With a loud cry, Ciel swung her sword toward the long black river that ca crashing down on her.
