It was only a single punch. Yet, the golden sword crumbled under the devastating force of the lightning-infused fist, breaking into smaller golden swords.

Though these smaller swords had been tempered by previous tribulation thunderbolts, many were unable to withstand the impact. They shattered, and with them, the Artifact Spirits within were destroyed.

Agonized screams echoed through Ciel’s mind as the spiritual consciousness of these demigod artifacts was snuffed out one by one, leaving behind nothing but lifeless shards of ordinary steel.

“H-How… is this possible…”

Ciel stared at the broken fragnts of her once-mighty swords, the anguished wails of the artifact spirits still echoing in her ears. She desperately wanted to believe it wasn’t real—that this was rely an illusion, a cruel fabrication of the heavenly tribulation designed to break her ntal resolve.

If heavenly tribulations were truly so terrifying… then how could gods even exist in this world? Surely, no matter how heaven-defying they were, no demigod could withstand these punches from such a tribulation.

Yet in the next mont, reality struck her with cruel clarity. While Ciel was still lost in her thoughts, the heavenly tribulation in human form swung her fist toward Ciel again.

The mont the fist passed through the air, it tore open the very fabric of space. Pitch-black traces followed in its wake, as if an ink-drenched brush had been violently swiped across a blank canvas.

“UNH!”

The punch slamd into Ciel’s abdon with unrelenting force.

Her body, tempered by over a thousand “past selves” and several rounds of tribulation thunderbolts, just a step away from achieving divine perfection, crumpled under the blow.

Her waist arched unnaturally, the sheer power of the lightning punch leaving a protruding imprint that could be seen from her back.

The force of the impact sent a roaring gust upward, scattering parts of the storm clouds above.

Ciel’s expression froze in disbelief. Scarlet blood burst violently from her mouth, spraying into the air, as her divine power was instantly dispersed. Her vision blurred. The searing pain, the likes of which she hadn’t felt in years, overwheld her, nearly shutting down her ability to think.

She staggered backward, her trembling gaze locked onto the figure in front of her. The figure of her heavenly tribulation, both hauntingly familiar and terrifying, stepped closer.

Her facial features remained indistinct, but blurry lips moved. Then, in a raw voice that sounded like shards of glass scraping against each other, she spoke.

“This path… is a dead end…”

What? What does that an? What does she an by this is a dead end? Why can this heavenly tribulation speak?

Countless questions swirled in Ciel’s mind, but before she could delve deeper, a piercing laugh interrupted her thoughts.

“Hahahahaha, I get it now! So that’s it!”

Three stepped out with a dramatic flourish, no longer seeming to care about being exposed to the watchful eyes of the heavenly order.

“So that’s why this world doesn’t allow existences above the Divine Realm!” Three laughed triumphantly, as if she had unraveled the ultimate mystery.

“Doesn’t… allow… above Divine Realm?”

Confusion filled Ciel’s eyes. This was the first ti she had ever heard such a statent. She had always believed the absence of gods in this world was due to the sheer difficulty of reaching the Divine Realm. But Ciel had never thought it impossible to reach.

Otherwise, why would the “gods” even exist in the ancient texts in the first place? It was this glimr of hope that had driven her to prepare for countless years. Yet now, this statent hinted at an entirely different truth.

“So that’s what the old hag ant,” Three said.

When she first entered this world, the old hag had warned her—no gods were allowed to exist here.

At the ti, Three had dismissed it as one of the natural “laws” of this world. For that reason, she allowed the old hag to draw out her full Authority and avoided descending into this world in her true Divine Realm form.

Even when Three had encountered Cornelia, who had reached the Divine Realm, she had felt a fleeting sense of doubt.

But at the ti, her mind was entirely consud by her plans to hunt down the Dragon Princess. She hadn’t spared a mont to question it further. Now, however, as she pieced things together, it beca clear: such an absurd law couldn’t have been a natural product of this world.

A world where no gods could exist wasn’t unheard of in certain vessel worlds within the Great World. But in those cases, it was due to a lack of resources, magic power, or a stable heavenly order necessary to sustain a deity’s Authority.

But this world? That couldn’t be the case. This was the dragons’ ancestral land—the birthplace of a race so powerful it had once shaken the entire Great World! Even with the decline of the dragons, a world like this shouldn’t have been so weak that it couldn’t even give birth to a god.

There was only one possible explanation…

“The absolute master of this world—the Queen of Dragons herself—doesn’t allow it!” Three threw her head back and laughed, tears rolling down her face.

The Queen of Dragons had always been the greatest obstacle to their mission. Yet, ironically, she had inadvertently handed them a significant advantage.

“I don’t know the exact reason but it seems the Queen of Dragons refuses to allow a god to be born in this world. She has directly blocked the influence of the Great World’s heavenly order and created her own false heavenly order to monitor the living beings here!” Three said with a sneer.

She pointed at the human form of heavenly tribulation gleefully and continued, “Demigods? Sure, they’re allowed. But anyone who dares to ascend to the Divine Realm? She’ll strike them down without hesitation!”

“No… gods are allowed to exist…? False… heavenly order…? Strike them down…?” Ciel’s gaze remained fixed on the heavenly tribulation, who hadn’t moved since uttering her cryptic words.

Three’s explanation sounded fantastical, absurd even. But when Ciel thought about it, it felt strangely plausible. She recalled the corrective force that had blanketed the world, forcing it to forget Lilith’s very existence. That, too, had been the work of the Queen of Dragons.

But… why? What is she trying to achieve? Why condemn Lilith to reincarnate endlessly in this world, only to still erase her from mory each ti, reducing her to nothing more than a ghost in history? Why establish such a weird rule to forbid the birth of gods? What is the Queen of Dragons truly trying to achieve?

Was it, as Ciel had long suspected, to seize the divine power hidden within Lilith—the power that countless outsiders craved? Was that why she imprisoned Lilith in this world, treating her as a plaything, toying with her mind, body, and emotions as she pleased?

And was that why she refused to allow any force beyond her control to exist in this world?

Ciel’s thoughts drifted back thousands of years, to the ti she had ventured to the Sea of Origin in search of the legendary Primal Beast as part of her preparation to ascend to the Divine Realm.

The Primal Beast was an incomparably ancient being, once the most powerful demigod in this world, who had also made an attempt to ascend to the Divine Realm.

After enduring countless hardships, Ciel finally found it in the boundless Sea of Origin. Yet from this beast—a re shadow of its forr self, frail and dying—she received only a cryptic, elusive answer.
