“GWAAAAAH!”

Goshawk scread in agony as an indescribable force twisted his arm. He could only turn his body slowly, trying to follow the direction of the twist in a desperate attempt to alleviate so of the damage and pain.

However, it was futile; it did nothing to stop Luna from twisting his arm into a grotesque shape like she was wringing a rag dry.

Blood spurted from the broken skin of his arm, splattering across Goshawk’s pained face. Like a stray dog cornered in a desperate situation, he shouted desperately, “Jellyfish! Jellyfish! Fire! Fire!”

Since his headset had been crushed by Luna, the woman known as Jellyfish naturally couldn’t hear his frantic cries.

Nevertheless, she witnessed the entire scene unfold through the scope of her sniper rifle. From the mont Luna had suddenly vanished and then reappeared in front of Goshawk, Jellyfish sensed sothing was off.

She kept her finger on the trigger all this while, silently awaiting the order to fire. Yet, she couldn’t understand why Goshawk hadn’t retreated in such a dire situation. If the target had unleashed unexpected abilities, he should have retreated imdiately or sought cover from his companions.

This was clearly outlined in the “Ergency Counterasures Against Strange Ability User Manual” issued by the organization and had always been a mandatory question in their annual assessnts.

Regardless, it was too late to ponder that; the unforeseen circumstances had already occurred. What needed to be done was to salvage the situation and prevent the chaos from escalating to a full-blown incident.

Jellyfish closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Her skin beca as clear as crystal—a state she assud when using her ability. When she opened her eyes again, every last trace of emotion vanished, save for cold rationality.

Her heart rate slowed to an extre five beats per minute and her blood flow decreased to a minimum, in pursuit of absolute stability. She fixed her gaze on the monster that single-handedly overpowered Goshawk while waiting for the order from her superior.

“Fire.”

The man’s voice in her headset was laced with a trace of weariness. He regretted allowing Goshawk to make contact with the target. But now that things had co to this point, they had to proceed, even if a mistake had been made.

“Got it,” Jellyfish replied softly.

She then slowly applied pressure to the trigger. In that instant, she saw the beautiful and radiant woman in sportswear suddenly turn her head and smile sweetly at her. Her smile was so stunning that it could captivate the birds and beasts, and maybe even topple a kingdom.

That was Jellyfish’s first thought. Then ca the second thought…

She felt nothing but an overwhelming sense of fear.

“Is that what you call a gun…?”

Luna raised her hand at so point, pointing toward a building.

BOOM!

A muffled sound echoed. The shockwave was much stronger than the one Goshawk had just charged through. The tinkling wind chis looked as if they might break at any mont.

Luna’s delicate arms remained incredibly steady; her feet didn’t budge at all.

Next, a gunshot rang out in the distance, muffled by a special silencer, yet still clearly audible in Luna’s ears.

“How boring.”

She had hoped the next opponent would bring her so excitent, but… that wasn’t the case. She was so weak that she failed to pique her interest.

“If this is all you’ve got, you’d better stay hidden and avoid embarrassing yourself.”

Luna shook her hand lightly, and Goshawk staggered back a few steps. Just as he began to recover from the thrill of escaping the grip of her power, his bones and muscles made a series of muffled cracks before disintegrating. Blood gushed forth, transforming him into an unrecognizable bloody figure.

Luna opened her other hand, revealing a 25mm caliber armor-piercing bullet, now a piece of distorted and shapeless scrap tal. It rolled gently off her palm and hit the ground, creating a sharp echo in the silence. R̃ÄꞐổ𝔟Ê𝙎

“The person lurking in the shadows and secretly watching all of this should be able to hear without that stupid headset, right?” Luna murmured into the empty alley.

“Listen up now. Your mission, your sense of justice—they’re all aningless to . I’m just a passerby with no influence over you. From now on, lower your head and pay attention to the boundaries that you should not be crossing. Don’t try to push my limits again. I’ll forgive you for your ignorance today, but next ti, I’ll show you my true horrible nature.”

With a poof, a ball of fla erupted from Luna’s palm. It danced like a little fairy, illuminating her face and enhancing her beauty.

Goshawk, who barely survived the attack, was struggling to keep his eyes open. Jellyfish was still observing the situation through her scope. Together with their boss who was hiding behind a screen, all three of them erupted with curses at the sa mont.

“F̲u̲c̲k̲, how many abilities does she have?”

But Luna didn’t give them a chance to discuss or think. With a wave of her delicate hand, the fla traced a beautiful arc in the air, resembling a teor.

“This is my gift to you. According to the customs of your world, shouldn’t there be a grand fireworks display on sumr nights?” With that, Luna turned and walked away.

On the other side of the high-rise building, Jellyfish had yet to recover from the shock of Luna catching the bullet with her hand.

Suddenly, a loud roar exploded in her ears.

“RUN!”

There was no ti to call her codena. Jellyfish snapped to attention just as a bright light grew larger in her vision.

“S̲H̲I̲T̲.”

With an expletive, Jellyfish unleashed the power she had never accessed before and jumped off the water tower. Then, she felt a searing heat behind her. The water tower had exploded.

The flas flickered only briefly before high-pressure steam erupted, sending shattered iron fragnts flying everywhere.

As Jellyfish plumted through the air, she groaned when a piece of palm-sized iron fragnt pierced her waist with the speed of a bullet.

“Damn, I’m losing a lot. Half of my happiness is gone…” Jellyfish cursed, enduring the searing pain. In a critical mont, she smashed through a window of the building and jumped inside.

Luna finally glanced back. Her brow was slightly furrowed as she expressed her dissatisfaction. “So it was filled with water, huh? What a mistake. I guess there’s no fireworks to watch.”

The water tower’s explosion instantly evaporated a significant amount of water, transforming it into water vapor that vanished into the dark night.

Many people heard the sound and glanced in that direction. They were just about to enjoy the spectacle and snap a photo to post on social dia when a few drops of crystal clear liquid fell onto their phone screens.

“Huh? It’s raining.”

A passerby decided that his phone was more important and quickly turned off the screen, wiping it with his sleeve as he hurried away to get out of the rain. Soon enough, the rain intensified.

Luna walked through it, but her clothes remained dry. She returned to the eting spot she had arranged with the boy and scanned the area casually. Yet, she didn’t see the familiar thin figure she was looking for.

“Hmm… I guess he has left,” Luna mumbled softly to herself.
