Chapter 464: Chapter 374 Qin Taoran’s Gift Chapter 464: Chapter 374 Qin Taoran’s Gift Shen Zha rattled on and on, his attitude was exceedingly sincere, clearly very eager to collaborate with Jiang Ning again. However, Jiang Ning was ultimately not an insider in the circle; she wasn’t bound by any contract, nor did she have a team to maintain, free as a commoner with complete autonomy.

Moreover, no matter how appealing Shen Zha’s words were, Jiang Ning hadn’t forgotten the last ti she participated in “Survive for 30 Days” and was tricked by the production team.

Before the program aired, the team didn’t reveal any information about the hologram, this deliberate concealnt—even if Jiang Ning managed to clear her na through the program—didn’t cause her to feel any gratitude towards the production team.

Not pursuing the production team’s responsibility for the concealnt was already her biggest concession.

Jiang Ning had also seen gossip that Mu Mingxuan, Ling Bo, Yuan Wei, and Lin Qi had sued the production team after leaving. Disgraced, they were still in litigation with the production team.

Having been deceived once, Jiang Ning was not going to be fooled a second ti.

Shen Zha talked until his mouth was dry, seeing that Jiang Ning’s refusal was still resolute, he had no choice but to hang up the phone for the ti being, deciding to wait for another day when Jiang Ning was free to talk to her in person. So things just couldn’t be clarified over the phone.

After hanging up, Jiang Ning sat in her office for a while before picking up her mug and heading out.

Having never been to Huo’s before, Jiang Ning wasn’t familiar with the place; to her surprise, the employees seed to all recognize her, accurately calling out her na when they encountered her in the hallway and asking if she was lost.

Jiang Ning shook her head and said no, indicating she was just out for a stroll.

The thirteenth floor was the place where Huo Li and Huo Song held their offices and etings. Apart from them, only the elite core mbers of Huo Corporation, the assistants to the Chairman and the CEO, could work on the thirteenth floor.

Jiang Ning quickly got the hang of the layout of the thirteenth floor and also found the location of Huo Song’s office. Huo Song’s office was across the hallway, effectively placing them at the farthest left and right ends of the thirteenth floor, far apart from each other.

Jiang Ning went to the pantry to fill her cup with hot water and headed back to her office. That’s when she saw Huo Li, dressed in a suit, waiting in her office.

Seeing Jiang Ning enter, Huo Li’s expression was gentle and he spoke first, “Is everything okay with you?”

Jiang Ning nodded lightly.

“If you need anything, you can ask Chen Qi,” Huo Li said.

Jiang Ning nodded again.

Huo Li wasn’t very talkative by nature, even sowhat distant and reserved, and at his age, having inherited the family business and expanded the company to this scale, people were usually vying to flatter him; he didn’t need to proactively please anyone.

Jiang Ning’s indifferent attitude these past few days made Huo Li feel as though he was trying to warm a stone in the palm of his hand.

He stopped speaking, and the atmosphere suddenly fell into silence.

Jiang Ning didn’t care about Huo Li’s thoughts; she wasn’t here to work sincerely and there was no possibility of reconciling with the Huo family mbers.

Jiang Ning sat down at her desk, treating Huo Li as if he were invisible.

Finding himself bored, Huo Li found an excuse about having other official business to handle and quickly left.

Elsewhere, the tumultuous activity in the office finally quieted down.

Huo Miao stepped barefoot onto the cold, polished floor. She bent down to put on her shoes that had sohow fallen to the ground at so point and picked up her bag from the floor, retreating to the adjacent resting room to touch up her makeup.

When she ca out, she didn’t rush to leave but brought up the recent events with Huo Song, “Dad, I just saw Jiang Ning downstairs.”

The way Huo Miao addressed Huo Song flashed a mont of discomfort across her face before quickly returning to normal.

“Jiang Ning?” Satisfied, Huo Song was no longer as cold towards Huo Miao as before. He ticulously wiped himself with a tissue and said, “I know, Huo Li has already told .”

Grinding her teeth secretly, Huo Miao asked, “What is Jiang Ning doing here?”

Her eyes reddened, “Are you really going to take her back ho?”

Hearing this, Huo Song suddenly looked up at the person sitting on the sofa, fastening his belt, his eyes devoid of the warmth he had just minutes ago, “Huo Miao, there are things you shouldn’t ask about. Rest assured, even if she cos back, I won’t let you leave the Huo family.”

Huo Miao shuddered, bowed her head, and didn’t speak, but her hands clutched the sofa beneath her tightly, her eyes filled with jealousy and resentnt behind her gloomy expression.
