Ch.177 That Damn Master of Mine!

The Demon King’s Horn.

A famous item dropped by the Epic Demon King during endga content.

Though it’s an item that only drops once per kill, rely possessing it grants a massive stat boost.

Characters who reach Hell are usually max level, so the horn’s fixed stat increase provides a significant advantage—

since they can no longer level up, any item boosting base stats makes a huge difference.

“My horn? Do you even know what horns signify to demons?”

He scowled, clearly furious.

“Won’t it just regrow when you respawn? Can’t you just give us enough horns for

and the Hero Party?”

In the ga, the Demon King’s horns fully regenerate upon respawn—

so if resurrection works the sa here, they should regrow too, right?

“Absolutely not! If you truly want my horn, kill !”

Baring his fangs, the Demon King flatly refused.

Wondering if horns held special symbolic aning for demons, I asked:

“Why? It’s just a horn, right?”

“You madman! You’re utterly insane.”

“I’m asking because I don’t know.”

At my words, Edward cautiously spoke up:

“To demons, horns symbolize dignity and power. Losing them ans your dignity and strength as a demon are shattered—bringing eternal sha upon a demon who resurrects endlessly in Hell.”

Curious, I asked:

“If I take a horn, does it give any bonuses?”

“Hmm… probably. Powerful demons store their magic in their horns, so possessing one should boost your strength.”

I glanced at the Demon King.

“See? It makes you stronger! You’re about to die anyway—just give us one. Or better yet, since your true form has multiple horns, just chop off enough for everyone…”

“Shut your mouth! Horns embody my power! Losing them weakens !”

His face flushed crimson with rage.

“But won’t it grow back when you respawn?”

“Yes—but I’d rather choose eternal death than suffer such humiliation!”

Seeing his unexpected resolve, I wondered: Should I give up for now?

Or wait until he and Roy fight—then claim it after he’s killed.

After all, there’s no way an Epic Demon King can beat Epic Roy.

But… is Epic Auros even here?

Epic Auros drops Auros’ Heart upon death, which grants an even greater effect—

boosting all skill damage more than the Demon King’s Horn.

Though Auros doesn’t die in the main story, he appears in Hell and Celestial content—

usually in an interdiate layer called ‘The Path to the Heavens.’

But this place feels very different from Destiny’s structured Hell and Celestial realms.

In-ga, those areas are tiered—clear Floor 1 to unlock Floor 2—but here, it’s more like an entirely new world.

“When you die, how long until you respawn?”

“Grr… Are you really pushing this?!”

The Demon King shifted into his true form, clearly enraged—

his aura flaring as if ready to fight imdiately.

“Hold on—answer first. When exactly do you respawn?”

“About five days.”

He growled the reply.

Five days… that’s tricky.

In the human world, I could estimate timing, but here—where I know nothing of the land—it’s impossible to predict when the King of the Dead will arrive.

“Then it’s no good.”

I sighed and plopped down on the ground, annoyed.

“I’d have tried sothing if it were just a day. Damn.”

“You think I’ll just lie down for you?!”

He lunged, swinging a fist at .

—Thud!

His body shot skyward—

then slamd back down from gravity’s pull.

—Thud!

“Yeah. Didn’t hurt at all.”

My nonchalant remark made him tremble with fury.

“Damn it… Once we deal with the God of Death, you’re mine.”

With that, he collapsed onto the ground.

***

The Hero Party arrived at a mountain in the New Continent.

—Ahahahaha!

A man with a human upper body and serpent’s lower half—

his size rivaling even a dragon’s.

“Good heavens… what kind of monster is this?!”

Everyone stood stunned at the mythical beast’s appearance.

—Pathetic humans! I shall grant you death!

The monster raised its colossal form, reaching into the clouds—

then blue lightning crashed down upon the Hero Party.

—Zap!

In a flash, all the heroes dodged.

“S-sister, are you sure this is okay?!”

Nephert, having never seen such a creature, trembled.

Scarlet replied coldly:

“We kill it.”

In an instant, she vanished—

racing up the monster’s long tail toward its torso.

“Insignificant vermin!”

Spotting Scarlet scaling his body, the monster tried grabbing her—but she was too swift.

She stabbed his neck with her dagger—

—Clang!

—but the blade wouldn’t pierce.

“Scarlet, move! teor!”

At Leah’s shout, Scarlet hastily leapt aside.

A teor plumted onto the monster’s head.

—BOOM!

—CRASH!

“Gah!”

The monster shrieked in pain—but the Hero Party had no idea what to do next.

No one expected a creature to rely scream after taking a teor strike.

“I’ll slaughter every last one of you!”

The monster rubbed his forehead—

but Mia was the first to snap out of shock.

“O King of Fire Spirits! By the World Tree’s covenant, appear before !”

A massive crimson fla ignited in midair.

—Mia, you’ve found quite an interesting foe.

“Stop him!”

The fla roared.

—Your power alone won’t suffice. But I shall give my all.

The hovering orb grew, transforming into a giant flaming humanoid like the monster.

—WHOOSH!

“What are you?!”

—I haven’t heard ‘what are you?’ in ages!

The fiery titan punched the monster.

—CRACK!

“Aaagh!”

Knocked backward by the sheer force—

but then…

—Alas, Mia. My power fades.

With those words, the Spirit King vanished.

“Mia, are you okay?!”

The Spirit King’s dismissal ant Mia had exhausted all her magic.

“Haah… haah…”

“I-I’ll take care of her!”

Cecilia rushed to Mia, casting Holy Breath.

“Now what…?”

Scarlet, Leah, and Nephert had no clue how to defeat this monster—

its hide deflected blades, and even teor failed.

They could barely dodge its attacks, let alone bring it down.

“W-what do we do? Master said we must kill it…”

“How can we defeat such a monster?”

As they panicked—

the monster rose.

—Grr… Where’d that fire bastard go?!

He scanned for the Spirit King.

—Fire wretch! Show yourself!

Still furious from the earlier blow, he thrashed wildly.

Leah frantically opened her notebook:

—Master… how do we kill this Typhon?!

I quickly replied:

—Is Vallien’s Staff in hand? Spam Gravity.

“Gravity?”

A spell only beings with magic surpassing humans can cast—

thus nonexistent in the human world.

“Ugh! What even is Gravity?!”

Leah aid Vallien’s Staff at Typhon and shouted:

“Gravity!”

In that instant—

—Kh!

Typhon struggled as if crushed by imnse weight.

“What did you do to ?!”

“It’s—it’s working?! Gravity!”

—Kh!

Typhon collapsed to his knees.

“Gravity! Gravity! Gravity!”

—Aaargh!

After repeated casts, Typhon’s agonized screams grew louder as his body pressed into the earth.

“Gravity! Gravity!”

—Crack! Snap!

A sickening bone-breaking sound echoed.

—Splat!

Typhon’s body flattened grotesquely, blood pooling beneath him.

“Haah… haah…”

“D-did we win?”

“What… just happened?”

Leah recalled Auros using this spell to wipe out armies—

but she’d never seen it firsthand.

“Good heavens… such magic exists?”

She stared at Vallien’s Staff in awe.

A spell powerful enough to flatten a giant like that—

she never knew it existed, let alone that she could use it.

“Where’s the dagger Hans asked us to find?”

Scarlet asked wearily.

“Wait… it’s in that swamp over there.”

“Let’s go.”

And so, the Hero Party headed off to retrieve the item.

***

“Hmph… They clearly don’t know the newly added spells.”

After replying to Leah’s urgent ssage, I fell into thought.

Gravity doesn’t exist in the base ga—

it was added in the ‘Dragon War’ DLC.

And even then, it’s not a spell humans can learn.

That’s why I’d completely forgotten about it.

The spell increases gravity to crush targets—

only usable by dragons.

Though its damage plumts against high magic resistance, it secretly deals bonus damage to large targets—

scaling with their weight.

Perfect against Typhon, who’s heavier than most mountains.

Typhon possessed insane defense, magic resistance, and HP—

his durability rivaled Auros Auripex, the ‘Dragon War’ final boss.

Thankfully, his attack power wasn’t as overwhelming.

Before the ‘King of the Dead’ DLC released, Typhon was one of the strongest monsters.

—Found the dagger!

Must be Levi’s Dagger—the Betrayed Dagger.

Scarlet’s ultimate weapon.

Her current blade is strong by base-ga standards, but with new DLCs, it’s far from endga-ready—

since DLC monsters have massively inflated stats.

I’m ntally cataloging the new spells from the New Continent and ‘King of the Dead’ content.

The base ga alone has hundreds of spells—

and with two DLCs adding hundreds more, Destiny now features well over a thousand.

Yet players commonly use only a few dozen—

because many spells are niche.

For example, curse spells that reduce resistance are rarely useful—

teor is far more efficient for farming.

There’s little need to lower resistance when proper gear already shreds it.

Plus, even mages can’t master all 1,000 spells—

they must learn prerequisite spells using skill points.

Though here in reality, there are no skill points—

so exceptionally intelligent individuals can learn most spells effortlessly.

“Just one more left? I’d like to grab two items by tonight…”

Still many items to collect—

five Hero Party mbers, including Nephert.

That ans dozens of items total.

—Go get one more. In the New Continent’s south lies an Ent’s Burrow. Fetch the Armor of Sandstorm.

Reading the ssage on their notebook, the Hero Party despaired.

“That damn master of mine!”
